Today was the first time I visited the Paramount center since its renovation/ reopening (a few years ago?).The staff was very friendly, welcome, funny and engaging. The place is very beautiful and artsy.I went to watch a movie as part of a film festival, so I only saw the 4th floor with its movie theatre, but it was all modern, nice and clean. After the movie, a documentary called Love Boat: Taiwan, the filmmaker was available for a Q&A.I loved the experience.
This theater is beautifully decorated and well appointed. It seems like it has been fixed up recently: the seating is clean and comfortable and the bathrooms a large and modern.Parking is not attached to the theater, but there is plenty of parking around, including under the Boston Common. It is a very quick walk from there to the theater. The hall is cozy. Its hard to imagine that any seat would be considered bad. The orchestra section has a steep rake, so you fan easy see over those in front of you.The staff is friendly and flexible.
What a gorgeous old theater! From the days when the studios had their own theaters. Emerson College uses this venue for lots of their events which are often free or very low cost, but whether you go to a show or not it is definitely worth stopping by even to just look around the detailed luxurious wood decor in the lobby. check out the patterns in the stone floor and the carpeting if there are just a few people around and you can see it.
Beautiful theatre. Loved the location as it is near downtown and Chinatown where there are tons of places to eat, drink and be merry.
Beautiful venue, innovative programming. Parking can be difficult, so save yourself the headache and take the T - easily accessible to red, orange, and green lines. If you have mobility aids and require an elevator, however, Park Street is a better bet, albeit a longer walk.
Very nice venue. Went to the Bright Family Screening Room at the Paramount to see Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch, a simulcast that was recorded in 2015 in the U.K. Beautiful theater that also houses the Black Box theater company.
Worthy of a visit. Check out performances, then pick your show. The theater is magnificent. Saw Langston Hughes Black Nativity which was a wonderful mix of professional performers and local community, lending a sense of community theater to the production. Which was delightful and refreshing.
We watched Chinatown Rising a BAAFF showing. The movie was great but the seats started hurting my butt. Not as comfy as a newer movie theater seat.
Home to great productions and community projects, I believe the Paramount Theatre is a great place to experience exceptional events.
Beautiful building. The acoustics are in need of adjusting.
There are screenings of amazing niche movies every Tuesdays and Thursdays during the college school year! Also, for Emerson staff and students, there is a great cafe in the basement. Best place for a delicious quesadilla.
Beautiful location. Amazing technical quality in sound and lighting. Great programming!
Really beautiful theater from the 1930s that was dormant for years and later redone. Its modernized to some degree but still many original features of its original build.
The theater is absolutely gorgeous. We sat house left in the orchestra for American Moore. Bathrooms are clean and staff are helpful!
Great theater, great show!
It was a good place to watch a show, though our show was on the stage. The stage was redesigned to have the entire audience be present on the stage during the performance. I will be able to speak to seeing a show from a traditional audience perspective in a few weeks. This experience was a good overall experience in the theater and credit is due for allowing the creative set display.
Clean. Nice cozy theater.
Amazing venue for a show, great decor and sound. Disappointed in the red wine which tasted like ribena, and they need to sort out the directions as we and others were walking up the wrong 3 flight of stairs for the balcony, and I do not like stairs.
A beautiful theater in the heart of Boston, very accessible!
The student performance was Amazing.
The Bright Family Screening Room is great, perfectly sized.
Cant say anything else other than a great overall experience.
Amazing building, amazing show. Don’t order red wine though as tastes like squash
Great location, comfortable seats
The acting was great. The singing was magnificent!!!! It is very much worth the admission!!!! It ends on the 17th. Please try your best to go. Youll love it
Beautiful space! The screening room is great
Beautiful interior, Art Deco style theater.
Historic theater in Downtown Boston
Saw the performance of See You Yesterday on Thursday evening and was extremely disappointed and shocked by the low level of the performance. And the fact of the exorbitant price for tickets only made it more shocking.
Went here for Boston Asian Film Festival and the place was very accommodating. Lots of bathrooms :)
Amazing place !
Great theater - always enjoy shows there.
Great for pictures
This place is absolutely beautiful and I LOVE it!!!! The love the outside decor! It really brights up downtown crossing during the day and also in the night! They also have amazing plays, movies and events that happens at the Paramount Theatre. I absolutely LOVE it!!!
The restoration is amazing. Was able to take a private tour of the theater and what they did to restore this gem is nothing less than amazing.
A lovely place to have events.
We attended a special event that featured the repertory for the next season ( 2018/2019).The program was diverse and very interesting, ranging from a one man show featureing Othelo, to French acrobats, and other unuasul stories of Polish folk songs. It was a beautiful presentation followed by a nice reception and everybody had a good time. Very glad we attended.
Nice theater
The Paramount Center is a beautiful place with three components. As an emerson student, I am familiar with the café and the dorm hall more so than the theatre, which the public is more well acquainted with. The beautiful theatre is a wonderful place to spend an evening and the dorms are an amazing place to live. The café has tasty, cheap food, quick. As I write this book Im sitting in class, in a dance studio in the building itself!
Beautiful Art Deco renovated main stage plus a black box space and large film screening room.
A Boston classic for plays and live performances, comfortable seats and good acoustics.
Student-ran venue for good local and international art shows.
Comfortable theater and great shows!
Nice theater with free shows during the school year
Great movies and performances at Emerson Paramount.
Beautifully restored, and Arts Emerson programming is varied and interesting.
I love every single room in this place
Helpful staff, accessible entrances. The bathroom said to use whichever best your gender, which made my agender friend feel uncomfortable because neither gender suits zim. Ze left early to go home to Quincy for a restroom.
Amazing place, great shows that are very diverse and welcome a wide range of audience members.
Gorgeous theater and so much more to it than just the main stage!
I had wondeful time.. The experience of a life time!!

This place is a performance art theater, not a movie studio like in California.
