Much smaller than expected. Amazing, no doubt.. just wish there was more.

This place was smaller than I expected and a little difficult to get to. I would still highly recommend stopping in and viewing the exhibits, but dont make a trip out just for this museum. I would suggest pairing your visit with the Museum of Fine Arts (just one T stop away).

A random part of history on display. The eagle skeleton is top notch.

Very interesting if you have time...not a very big place at all; someone recommended we go see it as we were nearby. Not disappointed or anything, but there were just a handful of things to see. If youre at the library for other reasons, go see it... not sure Id recommend a special trip for it unless you really want to see Phineas Gages skull (yep, its there).

A bit smaller than expected but it is very well put together and the displays are appropriately creepy

Small, off the beaten path, but phenomenal museum collection containing many Oliver Wendell Holmes items along with a Beuchane skull, a great collection of porcelain apothecary jars, and many other medical items. The staff, even those in entirely unrelated departments within the same building were incredibly helpful.

The exhibits are unique and commendable. However its more like a display case rather than a museum. I hope that they will be able to find a permanent museum to display the remaining exhibits.

Fun to look at biological specimens that have featured so highly in biology, medical, and anatomical textbooks as well as non-fiction. As well as some that serves as the inspiration for great works of fiction as well.

It was small, but perfect for the experience. Its in a gorgeous library and is in nice displays. Great for people with interest or in the medical field!

Surprised by the location, 5 floor lobby of a library, but such great exhibits!

Very informative, but extremely small. Despite what it says on the website, only handful artefacts are actually available for public display. If you dont already know, it is one floor inside the library.

It is in the Harvard Library. Top floor. Very small.

Set your expectations appropriately: this is more a set of display cases than a full-scale museum. But, that being said, it is well worth visiting and extremely cool if you have any medical nerds or connoisseurs of the macabre in your group. The highlight is probably Phineas Gages skull and the railroad tamping iron that blasted through it, but theres also a plaster cast of a seven-fingered hand, a collection of bladder stones, and various bones with gunshot lodged in them. Interesting, educational, free, and you can see the whole exhibit in about half an hour. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area anyway!

All kinds of gruesome stuff. Very intriguing and gives a vast sense of appreciation for the medical field.

The best part is being able to see Phineas Gage. Its not really a museum though, its small exhibits on two sides of an atrium.

Small place but I wanted to see what the pipe looked like that went through Phineas Gage. It’s located at Harvard University and it is hard to find. You cannot take photos. My suggestion is: if you have time to spare by all means go. If you are expecting a huge museum you will be disappointed. It is located in a library. One floor and small. I still enjoyed it though.

While there were a few cool pieces, key word few, the museum is a tiny corridor surrounded by classrooms. Bonus it was free, but parking nearby is a nightmare.

Loved seeing Phineas Gages skull! Unfortunately, you may not take photos in the gallery.

This is more of a cabinet of curiosities rather than a museum. It contains 4 glass cases of some interesting and some disturbing pieces as well. The most amazing pieces in the collection are the skull and tamping rod of Phineaus Gage, who survived having the tamping rod blasted through his skull in a railroad accident. For a great discription of the incident and its aftermath, read the book The Tale of the Dueling Neurosurgeons by Sam Kean.I would post pictures, but you are supposed to take pictures on the museum hallways.

Really not a musuem at all, just a couple of display cases on the fifth floor of the library. Takes about 30 minutes to get through. Worth a visit if youre near - the medical campus is quite nice.

Small, just taking up the space in a hallway, but full of interesting information. The text of several displays was well written, though it was very clear these were not their main focus.
