Our group enjoyed our day at at Honey Creek! The pace of play was excellent. There was no one pushing us and we were not pushing anyone else. The course was filled with many difficult holes, especially with the wind blowing over 20 mph. IF you can only play, lay the back.

One of the toughest, yet beautiful courses in Iowa. Hole #11 is my favorite. Tons of wildlife to view, lots of elevation changes and definitely enough water holes and bunkers... Back 9 terrain is absolutely beautiful. Have fun.

Best Public Golf Course in Central Iowa

***The bugs were bad, but that is not the reason for bad review***We drove over an hour each way to play this course. I play it at least once per year. This year unfortunately the bugs were above and beyond horrendous when we visited last month. While you are standing over your ball the bugs were in your eyes, ears, nose, mouth, etc.....just swarming all around you. Could not stand still, had to keep moving , which was not an enjoyable experience.That is why we decided it was not worth fighting thru the bug infestation any longer, and after 9 holes asked for a rain check for the back 9 to come and play another day. Later in the summer the bugs would not be nearly as bad; and as I said before I play at least once per year.Sadly, we were refused said rain check. This is a horrible way to provide customer service, especially in an industry which so much repeat business. The lady at the counter just kept repeating the phrase I cant do that followed by you see the sign right there, we offered bug spray.It is a nice course, which is why we drove over an hour to play each year, but I will not be returning at any point. I shall instead provide my money to courses who want my repeat business. It really is a shame as I enjoyed playing the course. Hopefully you have a better experience, just know that rain checks are not offered so go into your round knowing that information.

Hidden gem in central Iowa. This wooded course in Ledges State Park is THE BEST public course in Central Iowa.

We had fun playing this course. For 9 holes it was well maintained and some of the holes were beautiful. Were not pros by any means, but a few of the holes were on the lake and made for great views and for a novice like me, I had a great round! Cost was fair and the carts were well maintained. We played two rounds to make a full 18. If your camping on the grounds, I recommend spending a morning playing a round! The staff was wonderful and even recommended some other activities in the area.

Great shape, large and tough greens, hot out so could have used some water pitchers out there? Bought as much water as I could keep cold. Course was nice though.

This course is a beautiful hidden gem! The course condition was great, despite some repairs being done on a few greens. The back 9 was especially nice, with some scenic views and very strategic holes. Great weekly specials make this course even more appealing! You will not leave there disappointed!

First time playing here and my husband and I absolutely loved it! The course was beautiful and challenging, and the back 9 was a fun little surprise with tons of elevation changes! Hole #11 was very fun! The clubhouse staff was extremely helpful and friendly and we really enjoyed our experience. We will be back for sure!

Worth a trip just to play the back nine. Very fun. Beware of driving down the hills with the cart, as there are lots of elevation changes.

Perhaps the best maintained public course with bent grass fairways, tees and greens. They take meticulous care of the holes including dragging the fairways to knock off the dew, reel mowing the fairways and then blowing off the clippings. There are challenges for all levels. It is the best value for the money to golf a course that can challenge and accommodate all levels of golfer.

Whew, that back nine. This is a challenging and beautiful golf course.

The course itself was satisfactory. However, the owners behavior was ridiculous, I have seen better behaved 7 year olds. My group and I were constantly harassed by the owner throughout the duration of our stay. I will not be taking my business here ever again.
