A staple of Bloomington and Indiana University, Kilroy’s is by far the best bar in town. With tons of people flocking there daily, there are always activities and sales. I would highly recommend the never ending party at Kilroy’s on Kirkwood!

Kilroy’s should change their “sports bar” designation. A sports bar that has direct TV but not the NFL package? Wut? Went there last Sunday to watch one of the many 1pm NFL games but the only game they could find was the Colts home game. How could that be? They have a ton of TVs so if watching Canadian football or soccer on a Sunday afternoon in the fall is your thing, then this is your sports bar.

The go to place in Bloomington. Huge space with two floors and an outdoor dancing area. Lots of fun to be had throughout.

Best place to spend your early twenties getting drinks between classes and shirts in the evening. While there’s always a questionable smell in the air there’s always a promise of something happening that you’ll be too drunk to remember tomorrow.I have many shirts for my years in Bloomington and none better than those from KOK. Rain, sleet, snow or all three at 6am KOK is a treasured pastime.

Bar food but service is great at lunch and still $0.50 wings on Monday and $2 Tuesdays! I can get in and out pretty quickly and inexpensively for lunch.

Of course the targeted audience is college students but its still a good place for townies to enjoy the bar scene. (usually when students ARENT out in droves) but you can still meet a lot of interesting people!

Holy chicken fingers and breadsticks. You get your bang for your buck whether its getting liquored up or just a filling meal. Make Culvers a little more like bar food and take away the creepy part of the politeness of the workers and youre left with the beautiful concoction that is Kilroys

I came here for a drink at the start of my friend’s birthday and bought a rum and coke, I got Diet Coke and when I complained the bartender claimed I had my drink for over 15 minutes after I took one big gulp so I couldn’t get my drink remade? Screw that, I’ll skip this place on my future bar crawls If I can’t get the coke button pressed correctly.

The drink specials were the only thing that impressed me. The service was awful. Asked the server what type of cheese was on the sliders. She said she thought it was cheddar. I said thats fine as long as its not American and reiterated that I could not eat American cheese. It took over 30 minutes to get five sliders, and they did have American cheese on them, in addition to being very overcooked and dry. We saw the server only when she took our order and to bring out the food. Neither of which times she asked if we needed anything else or if our food was ok. To top it off we had to ask for our check and still ended up having the bartender get it for us after waiting for over 10 minutes .

College bar, service speed hit and miss, will never go in filthy restroom again. Maybe I was little tough on them...was there during Spring break ... restroom was clean and rest of bar floor was not covered in Beer either. It gets crazy when students are around.

Kilroys is a fun hangout. If you intend to go there on a gameday though, expect a packed house. You typically have to wait until a bar seat opens and then make a mad dash for it. Love the Burger with the sundried tomato compote on it.

Management neglects the bar in every way possible. NOT a friendly enviornment or inclusive. Hopefully there are no flaoters in your drinks. If you get lucky you might catch the owners and management doing Coke in the office instead of working. Coudnt leave a half star or i would.

This is the dirtiest bar Ive ever been to. It always smells like pee, there are mounds of empty cans, and there is usually vomit in the sinks.

Came to town for a wedding. This place was recommended. Was very disappointed to find they had a $3 cover charge. Who does that? Despite that the food was excellent and the Boom Shrimp was addicting. Service was excellent as well but the food took way to long to arrive.

Its a typical college bar. The bar is usually very crowded and has an average drink selection. Prices are not outrageous and they run specials frequently. The floor and seating areas are fairly sticky, but again, its a college bar. Their breadsticks, though, are to die for!

It smells of vomit and beer. You stick to the floor no matter where you walk. Will not eat anything that comes out of that kitchen.

This place is home. All the bartenders are great at what they do. Drink are fun to drink and taste delicious. Great food specials every day. Atmosphere is exactly what you would look for and expect from a great college bar.

First time going to a bar in the states as a German and 5min in somebody fell over me because I apparently stumbled into a bar fight. I was quite shocked but the guy who fell over me was surprisingly nice and helpful. Never witnessed a bar fight before. Got a new anecdote now :D

Terrible service when it wasn’t busy after an IU game. Had to ask 3 times for my Diet Coke. Our breadsticks came out raw. Had to ask multiple times for my wings. Bathroom smelled like a urine bomb

Charges cover on homecoming and will not stamp, too money hungry for my taste. Also a bouncer pulled a girls hair to get her attention. If you want to drink cheaper look at other bars.

College bar scene, just not for me. Lacking in beers on tap, staff seemed preoccupied with phones and their own conversation than serving, bar was sticky. Left after 20 minutes and 1 beer.

This is the main college bar in town. Almost everyone who goes to IU goes to this bar. That being said, prices are cheap, especially on Tuesdays (except for homecoming they raise prices since alumni are coming back). This place gives out “free” T-Shirts (there is cover) on Thursday nights. This bar is very busy and almost always packed come Thursday, Friday and Saturday. However, great place to go and have a beer!

You can put money in touch tunes and it will say it is playing your song while it plays a completely different song. Management doesnt care.

Wow... My family and I walked in here tonight and they asked for our I.Ds at the door. My dad, who is 63 YEARS OLD was the only one who did not have his I.D. on him and they would not let us in. We thought it was a joke at first. Unfortunately, not. Unbelievable

If I could give 0 stars I would. We ordered a mimosa tower and were told that no more towers were available and we had to wait. 20 minutes later, out waitress brought out a tower to the table next to us. Kilroys should try to hire competent adults in the future.

Worst experience at a bar Ive ever had. The drunk bartenders werent competent enough to serve us the right drinks and the manager (with no qualifications) had no clue what was going on. The bar smelled absolutely awful and me and my wife were completely disrespected. Would never go here again even if I was paid!!!!! I recommend going to Brothers for great service instead of going to Kilroys where the drunk belligerent students behind the bar are serving drinks. SAD! Do not go!!

The best bar in Bloomington...

KOK is always an amazing place to go to get drinks and party with friends. Definitely one of my favorite places in Bloomington. They always have some sort of event or drink special going on which is great! Two dollar Tuesdays happen to be my favorite.BUT, for the amount of money this place rakes in, their kitchen gets backed up super easily. If you want food with your drinks, you need to get there before the crowd or be hella patient. Me and my friend waited 45 minutes for bread sticks. We didnt mind much because we didnt have anything else going on but we wanted food before ordering more drinks so we sat at the bar and talked instead. Im seriously hoping they redo the kitchen to handle more orders or staff it better.Other than that, drinks are on point and the food is good. Still a Bloomington must-go. just be patient if you order food or go somewhere else.

Visited 9/1: As undergrads, my late-wife and I never visited this venue, but tonight, I very much enjoyed watching IUs football win while drinking reasonably-priced draft Stella Cidre. The bartenders, two guys, one girl, were super-nice. The only thing that mystified me was the enthusiasm for Notre Dames dominance over Michigan (actually, a good thing), topping the reaction for the Hoosier victory over FIU. Cmon people .... were Hoosiers! Make some freakin noise!

Im a frequent customer at KOK and also have a VIP card, but the service I received tonight was astonishing. I asked for a crown and coke at the bar only to return a few minutes later because I could not taste any crown. Usually when you go to a bar they would help the customer and give them a new drink...I was told there was nothing they could do about it and the bartender walked away acting as if the issue didnt exist. Great customer service technique right there. I understand you are constantly busy and have much more important issues to worry about but its customers like myself who really matter because Im the ones spreading a good or bad name about your bar. Its the simple things like this that really bring customers in or make you lose them.

How can I rate 0 stars on this place? 6 of us ordered a round of goose island beers and were all served bud lights. The DRUNK bartenders did not replace our beers and shortly after we were kicked out for complaining about the wrong order. I am a bartender and if this were to happen to me I would gladly replace the drinks. Wont be coming back here again.

Right, better late than never.Liked it well enough, but the last time I went (admittedly about five years ago), one of the waiters tried to give himself an extra tip from my drunk asss bank card. (I thought at first it was a simple accident, but after review of the amounts and times, well....)Anyway, I was living close enough to the edge on paychecks at the time that it wrecked my finances for a week. My bank was, thankfully, very helpful and understanding, but to fully fix everything we either needed KoKs cooperation, or the police.I tried to keep the law out of it. but this Kilroys locations day manager was hilariously anti-helpful. She wanted me to both not call the cops, and to try to get my bank to fix it themselves, without KoK undoing any of the charges. Oh, and now she *really* needs to hang up.....Ive been in the food industry, and even managed restaurants a bit. Yeah, its a stressful thing, and theres always some disaster needing your attention just as soon as you can move on from what youre doing then.However, her employee *tried to take money from me that he had no right to*. THAT warrants a helluva lot more than just hemming and hawing.The evening manager, he was a cool guy and helped me out just as much as he could, even though he didnt have the rank and access the day manager did. And ultimately, though he tried his damnedest to make up for her, we couldnt fix things on his permissions alone.So yeah, called the cops, we got things sorted out, and Ive never been back. Presumably theyve shaped up since then, but felt like ranting a bit while I was on a roll.

This is a college bar, and anybody expecting anything different should probably not attend.Theyre not that busy and you can have a pleasant, peaceful bar experience during the day if you like. When it gets past 9 pm, thats when the students roll up and it gets crowded, loud, and exciting.All of my experiences there have been fantastic, whether I went there during the day expecting good food and deals and being able to just hang with my friends, or went there at night ready to be loud and see/meet a lot of people.Their drink specials are among the best in the country when it comes to price - $2 on Tuesday and $3 on Thursday for 32oz pitchers of Long Island ? Sign me up.This bar is a staple. They do not discriminate either. Everyone is welcome.

KoK is a lot of fun. They have great drink specials and the bar is very popular. They dont have the best beer selection though.

Completely irresponsibly run bar. Any fake ID works here. Kids. So the authorities came down hard on Kilroys, and rightly so. It used to be a nice place when I was a student. Im surprised its not changed name and started a new format. Just because its been on Kirkwood for decades doesnt mean they a have a license to overcharge and underserve. Food is horrible.

Kilroys Bar & Grill, aka Kilroys, KOK, Roys, is considered a go-to destination for students, residents, faculty, and alumni of Bloomington, Indiana. Located at 502 E. Kirkwood, management has recently created a new menu to better serve its nightlight clientele as well those looking to grab a quick lunch.
