Had a blast. Saw Superdogs at the IMAX then played in the museum. Sweet Sunday Funday at the museum.

I was working at a daycare a block away from here. I went in McWane Center food court almost everyday for lunch. Its very nice and clean in there. Customer service is very good.

Great field trip with my daughter! Reccomend that coming on your own time, though. Field trips may not include certain areas.

A family favorite. Its fun for adults and children. A great way to get active and learn about science.

Alot of exhibits were broken and in need of serious repair. The only good thing about the McWane center is the IMAX. Theatre.

This is the MOST AMAZING! AWESOME place to bring the kids. We love love LOVE this place. My kids want to come every time we are in Alabama.We have recently been to the Childrens Museum Of Atlanta.. and it cant hold a candle to you guys! (Its fun, dont get me wrong) But they dont have 1/3 of what you have available all in one building.. its crazy! And you guys have parking for less $$ too.We cant wait for our next visit and wish we had a Mcwane Center over here in Georgia!!

This is a great place for kids. My grandsons are 12 and 5 years old. Both are excited to go there. Not only to play and learn as well but also to see the movies. They also like the classes that they have wich are free. They also feed then this is a plus. Cant wait for the next episode.

This is a great center. I visited here two times with my family and we all had good times. There are many science activities that we can explore even for an adult like me. This is my second most favorite place in Birmingham. This first is the Botanical Garden

I really enjoyed learning at this science center! It was very interactive and it kept me entertained. I enjoyed watching Rogue One in the IMAX theater. The theater was HUGE!

My wife and I have taken our kids here several times as new exhibits come in and they always love it. My older boy can really get into all the interactive exhibits and my 3 year old adores Itty Bitty Magic City. I just wish it didnt have time slots. Also, as much as the kids love it, I have just as much fun playing with them.

Great place to visit for young and​ old. Fun for kids and educational for adults and children! Staff is friendly. Food is great and it seems that the museum as a whole is very clean and well maintained.

So many amazing exhibits and educational fun as well as imaginative play, games, experiments, and the IMAX theater. I loved coming as a child nearly 20 years ago and now love sharing the experience with my daughter!!

Nice for the kids and adults

Great atmosphere. Fun for the whole family with several off the wall designs and innovative engineering as well as sealife exhibits, fossils, history and the majority of displays are hands on. 3 levels of pure fun for ages 2 to 82.

Love the Mcwane Center! We live about 1 hour away, but get a family membership each year and probably go about 4-5 times. Its a good value, especially if you live close by. The membership also gets you entrance into many other museums and science centers all over the country that weve used a number of times.

Start Wars was not in the correct format, but I had the theater to myself. It was also dirty with popcorn and spots kept showing up on the screen for the entire movie. Pretty cool for a one time dome IMAX visit.

Here visiting the Birmingham area. We brought the kids here and they really enjoyed the exibits, as well as the hands-on and engaging for children. Great family place to visit!

The DOME! It has become a tradition to watch the new Star Wars movies on the dome when they come out. Completely different experience. Its like being in the movie.

The Mcwane Center has a lot to offer for all ages. The IMAX film wasnt very clear. It seemed like they took a movie and enlarged the format. My family had a good time.

I think my granddaughter here at least three times a month she loves it she actually enjoys the Magic City Thailand she spends hour in there and plays of all the other kids but she made sure if she hits everything that they have in their I have never seen such a place like this she is so in love with this place and so am I

The dome doesnt lend itself to traditional movies. Saw star wars. The lightsabers were bent and it was an unpleasant experience. The seats were disgusting and many were falling apart. I am giving it an extra star for the reel and the atmosphere leading into it. The theater is wasted on normal movies.

Fantastic expericence for iMax movies absolutely. The auditorium is state of the art. I would caution new viewers: this dome shaped theater may induce vertigo sensations, some of which may be unpleasant if the showing is not a film produced explicitly for the iMax experience (ie Harry Potter).

Really enjoyed our visit

A great educational and stimulating experience to all ages, especially the young generation. As a member of the Alabama Science Teacher Association (ASTA) Ive participated in the societys 2016 conference that took place at the McWane Center in Birmingham, AL. Since our non-profit organization, the AquacultureHub, is continuing to develop lessons for middle school and high school students via the ATOLL program, I wanted to meet more science teachers and learn from them of their needs. I found that the ASTA decision to use the McWane Science Center was really beneficial and inspirational to the conference participants. Everything on display was beautiful, educational and interactive, from the show on human anatomy to the touch the rays fish pool for the little kids. I highly recommend teachers and parents to bring their kids to the McWane Science Center.

Only knock was that some of the computer based exihits didnt work.
