I go here regularly (my boyfriend is obsessed with going to the movies) and this is my favorite theater to go to. The theater itself is gorgeous! I love that this historic building, the architecture is so cool. The service is great and the theater is always clean. Highly recommend!

The seats are incredible and the number one theater, you need to sit up above to hear better. Willem Dafoe in The Lighthouse had a muffled type of character and was easier to hear in the higher level seats Im sure, because I was below and everybody else sat above. Its a really nice theater and have seen several movies there and I like going to the later movies because its easier to park on the street.

Very clean smaller theater. There are no employees to check in your ticket or ask questions. A sign would be a good idea to tell people to go to the concession stand with questions.

This movie venue is an very good choice for movie goers. Ive been here on weekends and evenings as well as during the day. The parking is free (for two hours) at the Peabody lot around the corner and they have a senior rate during the day. Its close enough to the local stores and restaurants to make an afternoon of it or just to sneak in a movie sometimes. I like the seating, recliners and you select your seating. Ive always enjoyed myself here.

This is a really good theater. I have lived in SE Mich all my life, been to almost every movie theater in the area, so it baffles me why I always overlook this one. But I finally went to this theater to see What Men Want. It was in one of their smaller theaters. Small is an understatement, it was very tiny and intimate. I didnt have a problem with it, it was really cool. The seats were great, the drinks from the bar were top notch, and the customer service was spot on. I am going to have to start coming to this theater more often. :-)

Purchased the majority of the tickets (27) to a show on Saturday night for my wifes birthday, and when we arrived the building was incredibly warm. We asked about the temperature, and the staff said the air conditioner had been broken, but was just repaired. The theatre itself was just as hot as the rest of the building, and while we were assured they were turning on the air, it never cooled off in the 4+ hours we were there. The concessions closed during the movie (we did see a late show) so to our guests surprise when they needed additional drinks because of the temperature, that was not an option. Didnt receive a single apology, offer of reimbursement of any kind, or really any acknowledgement that it being 85 degrees in the building was a problem that deserved attention. Incredibly uncomfortable, and handled unprofessionally, at best. Will be making the trip a couple blocks north to the Palladium from now on.

Ive been exploring theaters in the area since I moved here recently, and I have to say this was by far my best experience to this date! Gorgeous theater and building, comfortable recliner seats, plenty of showtimes, really great staff, and good movie selection for its size. I even came out of the movie ill-prepared for a rainstorm that popped up, and the staff found me an umbrella in the lost and found to use for the walk to my car! Talk about going above and beyond. I will go here as much as possible from now on.

Modern Amenities. Beautiful Location. ALL Electronic Leather reclining chairs. Nice variety of concessions, including Slurpees ... ALL reserved seating. Parking is NOT reliably convenient as with ALL of Downtown Birmingham, BUT its still a great place. Id give it 4.5 stars if they did half stars, because they really could upgrade the concession offerings a little. Otherwise, the place is better than EXCELLENT

A movie theater that reminds you of the excitement you felt as a kid running up to the counter for your parents to buy your tickets. The lights outside, the elevators leading to the second floor, and the nostalgia are infectious. Seating in all theaters is luxurious with wide, full reclining leather seats. I gladly choose this theater over others in the area.

My favorite theater in metro Detroit (with the exception of that classic movie palace, the Redford). Im sorry that a vintage old theater was cut up to create the modern multi-screen Birmingham 8, but the results could not have been better. It is always beautiful, comfortable and clean. The audience behaves well. The parking could not be more convenient. A few steps outside the rear exit takes you to a parking garage where the first two hours are free.

I was expecting a gem with this location and was truly disappointed. It really needs a good scrubbibfa. The womens restroom was just nasty and Im farley sure no one has ever washed a door, wall or floor in years. Small theaters make for a different experience but definitely a great time.
