A list of those who died or are still missing from Katrina, along with a pole showing the water line.I was pregnant with my daughter when we fled from and lost everything to Katrina. Her brothers still remember it like it just happened but now that she is a teenager, it is important for her to know what everyone went through.
Interesting Really Kool Place to bring kids to do some aweasome Home school Activities,,
Very important memorial, commemo the damage and loss that the city of Biloxi suffered during and after hurricane Katrina. I felt like this place deserves some better maintenace, as it seemed a bit tired, with some damage and wear of the plaza and the surroundings
Very somber and gracious memorial to the Katrina victims. Stark and respectful reminder of the devastation of this terrible storm.
The true Ground Zero where Hurricane Katrina made its 3rd and Final Landfall Waveland, Mississippi on East and not New Orleans. It’s Non-Profit works only on Donations. The Guides were so friendly and helpful that I will return again.
Worth taking a few minutes for easy access, nice memorial,
Met a guy there. He use to live there and lost a lot of friends due to the hurricane. With the 25 foot storm surges. Heart breaking
Very beautiful and very emotional
I was at the Sea food festival... Hot... crowded... But fun
Writing a review for a memorial is a bit difficult. The exhibit had a good link to the local community as it displayed items contributed from some of the people and families impacted by Katrina. The exhibit was tastefully done, it was in a good location, and definitely conveyed the impact Katrina had on the community.
Very beautiful and moving. Makes you feel blessed every day you wake up.
Very educational did not water got that high
What we went through and the lives that were lost and the lives that were saved. How the people of the coast came together. I believe it should have been a larger monument. But our politicians rather in large their pockets. Some people still are yet to recover from it. And lots of family and friends will never see each other again. But you can for sure bet that our city, county and state leaders are doing great. JS. Greed is a terrible thing. But in the end we all get what we sowed. I pray for all of the people, friends, family that this storm affected.
Its a very humbling and beautiful memorial, but could definitely use some upkeep. There also seems to be a homeless/drug use problem at the tree. Men and women were high and sleeping at the memorial with about 4 cops directly across the street! I enjoyed it, but would have more had there not been trash everywhere and people doing drugs 10 feet from my kids.
Nice, but, I wouldnt plan a special day around it. If youre exploring, it cool to come up on
Disappointed .. the memorial itself was beautifully done.. area wasnt well kept .. alot of homeless visit this area .. sleep. Hangout etc ... had one approach me and my family while reading the plaque .. kinda sketchy but he told his story.. I listened and he then went on his day!! ..
It was a pretty memorial in a very nice park. However, does need some touching up.
There is more that could be mentioned about the Katrina wall also the hurricane Camille should have something also because it did impact Mississippi and Alabama coast.
A very emotional feeling to realize what the people faced to what it is now.
It was clean and a nice stop to walk and stretch, after the long drive to gamble! Check it out its interesting enough.
Nice little memorial, hard to believe how much water came ashore.
First time seeing it. Its a deep part of history
Great place here to visit
Its a must see You feel the love for loss one and the way it tell there story
Need to make it known its there!
Check out the high water marks the keep gett higher 5feet higher then the previous storm makes you wonder how much more before Biloxi will be around
Definitely need to see this when in Biloxi!
You can see the forces of mother nature.
Stats of the results of Katrina
Was interesting and sadBut a wonderful idea to have a standing forever monument.
Nice and informative memorial.
What a surreal place. Heartfelt
It was humbling..so amazing how high flood waters were and the number if dead and missing still..could not imagine the damage and destruction
Worth the stop
Unique finds displayed after Katrina
Nice place.
Great memorial - A must visit if you are in the area
Very moving and beautiful
A good place to sit and relax
Very impressed. I have been to New Orleans and Mississippi a few times since I am glad they did something for the loss of life and property
A nice work of art in honor of those who didnt make it. Worth the short walk from the parking area to check it out.
Depressing but informative.
You have to pay attention to see it, but worth the stop!
The memorial itself was beautiful. There was a lot of trash and homeless people hanging around.
Pretty cool display of some of the debris that was found.
It is small but it packs a powerful statement. Just a moving tribute!
Small but powerful
Beautiful monument. Bolixi Town Green, hard reminders of the devistation hurricanes can cause.
Great memorial for such a tragic event.
Very nice!
Beautiful and powerful. Could use some maintenance.
Too many homeless people hanging around. Very uncomfortable.
So glad this was built- Thank you!
Came here to geocache. Seems like there is drug use at the large tree every time I come here
Very sad
Nice. Somber.
A little run down but still makes one reflect back on the hurricane and the damage it inflicted.
