I am a little biased because the owner is one of my best friends, but the Montana Gallery has a commitment to art and local culture that is truly special. The owner Tyler Murphy strives to create art that is personal, but relevant to the world around him, and has gathered together works from other quality artists around the state. Located next to one of Billings best coffee shops in Billings, its worth a visit to enjoy some quality espresso, and enjoy paintings from some of the American Wests best young painters.

Montana Gallery is the most accessible art gallery Ive been to. I discovered it because of Ebon Coffee that has a conjoining door. The gallery is very clean and pleasing to look at. I dont love the Montana prairie, but the artists that sell here make brilliant work. The owners are usually here, and are very approachable to talk with. Each piece feels intentionally hung, without overwhelming the visitor. You can expect monthly art show events, and special Art Walk nights.Once a month, the gallery hosts Story Night, which has quickly become one of the most influential regular events of Billings culture. If youre in town for one, its a must.
