Picked up stuff ordered online during Covid social distancing, contactless pickup. I got a call when the order was ready, and i called when i got there for directions, and the staff were very helpful. Prices are good, a hidden gem of Beverly.

Cashier was very rude and I don’t know why a dog was in the store. Art supplies was ok. The employee told me to put stuff down and I was just look. Honestly I would just go somewhere else for better supplies.

Its a lovely store and they have everything an artist needs. They dont currently accept credit cards (cash, debit, and check are all good) so plan accordingly. Sometimes theres even a very friendly dog! Any store that employes dogs is a 5 in my book.

What is this place! I dont know anything about art and my artist friend brought me here and it blew my mind. There were so many supplies and things I have never even imagined existed. I wonder if elementary school teachers know about this spot, too. It had so much.

Daughter is an artist, and Im a graphic designer. This store is a great resource for artists, a hidden gem. Wholesale pricing is legit. Cheaper than Micheals. I usually order supplies online for mock ups, this even has that beat. They dont have everything you may need, but its suprising what they do have. This has become our go to supply store.

Its around the back of the plaza so you cant see it from the street but once youre inside its wonderful! They have so much good stuff and its a lot cheaper than the chain art stores

Somewhat decent selection, but super overpriced, and they dont offer student discounts. Better off ordering online elsewhere and waiting for the shipping. Also, I should add that they are RUDE. When I asked about student discounts (since I attend an art college in Beverly) they replied with all of our products are discounted already. Which, they arent. On average their products are marked up by about 50% more than youll find online (from places that offer FREE shipping nonetheless). Never going here again, just isnt worth it.

I was looking for a local Art Supply store and thought I would read the reviews before making a visit or purchase any supplies.The reviews for this Art Supply Store has turned me from being a possible customer to not wanting to step a foot into the store.A large amounts of reviews on this store is about rude service form management/owners and staff, hence I will not be spending a dime of my hard earned money in this store.Every customer no matter who they are or what they spend are the reason businesses survive, snotty comments to customers reviews, such as the store closes at 5 and we want to leave on a Friday, is not something any prospective or current customer wants to see or hear. You’re stores door might be locked at closing to prevent any further customers from entering but any customers in the store that entered during operating hours deserve the same courtesy, service and respect as any other customer.Shame on you for treating you’re customers like they don’t matter and like the business they bring to your place of business is not valued. Word of mouth is one of the best methods of advertisement, keep that in mind next time you service a customer.

Quality supplies at a very reasonable price. The level of service Ive received has always been top-notch, especially when you consider that this is a wholesale business. You may or may not find more knowledgeable staff at an upscale establishment, but youll pay double the price for your supplies. Conversely you may find cheaper supplies at some large craft supply chain store, but only at the expense of quality. If you are an artist that knows what they want, and wants quality products, you owe it to yourself to check this place out.

Wow, I have never been treated more rudely by a business or business owner. I was in search of wholesale-priced foam board when I found Art Supplies Wholesale’s web site. The description of the Sturdy Board White Form Board item read: White 1/8” 32”x40” (25): $6.34. The main foam board page read “Case quantities are indicated in parentheses after the item description.”So I assumed that the item description was for one case of foam board, which contained 25 sheets of 32”x40” foam board. I feel that it is standard practice that any number in parentheses indicates the quantity of the item. The “catch” was that they required a minimum order of 5 items. So I understood that to mean that I had to order a minimum of 5 cases (125 total sheets). Since they claim to be a wholesale company, I saw that as the justification for the great price.When I received my order the box only had 5 individual sheets of foam board, which was very confusing. I e-mailed the owner for clarification. At first we had a very professional e-mail conversation. I explained how I read the item description and he explained that I was incorrect. He said that the “(25)” just told how many sheets were in each case, but that was not how many were actually included in the order. I still do not understand how that makes sense, but whatever. He then removed the “(25)” from the item description from the web site.I then looked at other items on the web site and found over 20 examples of items where a number shown in parentheses indicated the quantity of the item just like I understood it. I then responded in an e-mail explaining that and asking that he at least honor the price originally indicated on the web site for one case of foam board (not 5).Even though we had several professional e-mail conversations, his response was simply “fORGET ABOUT IT” [sic]. I was shocked at the sudden change of tone and the extremely rude response. I waited for a few days and then decided to call the store to discuss this over the phone rather than e-mail.Once I explained who I was and what I wanted to talk about, the owner dominated the conversation by saying that there was nothing to talk about and there was nothing that he could do to help me. When I pointed out that by removing the “(25)” from the item description, he obviously understood my point, he responded by saying “I can do whatever I want with my site.” He then said that I was a “creep looking to get something for nothing” and hung up on me.Obviously we can debate whether I was right in how I read the original item description or not, but what is not up for debate is how incredibly rude the store’s owner is and that he was not able to have a simple conversation about the misunderstanding.

What I needed want here, but it was a reach. I can see why artists find this place amazing.

Great prices great place

Come here for all my supplies for art school and hobbies. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. If they dont have something in stock, theyll order it for you. Good selection of art supplies in a small store, aisles lined up and organized, store is kept really clean. Prices are competitive with online retailers. Parking during peak hours can sometimes be an issue, but it is what it is.

Disappointing customer service. While preparing my taxes, I realized Id been charged for an item that I price-checked, but didnt buy (the sales person put the item away behind the counter but didnt take the item off my bill). When I called to ask about the error, I was basically told you cant prove it. The order happened months ago, so its within their rights to turn me away, but Im a regular customer, and it really hurt to be called a liar. I think Ill start shopping Blick online instead.

I give this place 1 star. Even though I go there only when I absolutely have to, I have found them to be discourteous. Their customer service is really bad. Their prices are definitely NOT wholesale (even though they say they are). Go somewhere else unless you cant. Artist and Craftman on RT. 1 Saugus have great customer service and their prices are much better.

No where close to wholesale prices, the staff is knowledgable but the management is far from helpful and welcoming, and the hours are not ideal for anyone who works or happens to be in class all day. If youre a student or a working artist, dont expect this place to be helpful or cost effective

A hidden gem. My kids are craft obsessed, this was like a candy store for them. They have everything from kindergarten level markers and crayons to professional painting supplies.

They shouldnt group Poor and Fair together. I would like to give an accurate totally POOR review. Rude, rude, rude... Owners response to my Customer Service complaint, Dont be a customer. I purchased over $200 in supplies and was treated like crap when I called to inform them that my order was incorrect. Ended up driving from Maine to return since their online return policy was terrible. Also to actually see, in the flesh, their total disregard to customers I would love to know how many people are return customers. This wasnt a recent purchase, but I see from the other reviews that things havent changed.

Im a drawing and cartooning newb, and I paid a visit yesterday to Arts Supplies Wholesale.Could not be happier. I found the staff very helpful on my several (typically newb) questions, not just related to what they had in stock but also why a certain drawing medium would or would not work for me.Whats available for sale appeared to me to be more varied than anything youll get at the big-box craft stores. Best of all, I came out paying less than what I would have expected.Ill definitely be going back.

RUDE OBNOXIOUS STAFF and OWNER. Did a return with receipt within 2 weeks and was charged 15% RESTOCKING FEE. I was never told Id be charged a restocking fee when I bought the items and asked their return policy and was told 2 weeks and youll receive a cash refund, after 2 weeks youll get a store credit. NO RESTOCKING FEE was mentioned at time of purchase.Ive been buying from this unfriendly irascible store for years but will NEVER buy there again after todays thoroughly OBNOXIOUS UNPROFESSIONAL behaviors from all of them. The owner was the worst of all. Buy from Dick Blick or Jerrys online and get the same or lower prices and wonderful customer service.

This store has a very limited selection on materials and not very good service either. I made a purchase online to pick up at the store and when I did they called and told me they were out of several items. Particularly, their acrylic paints are really limited and their stretcher bars as well and they only had two of a particular size stretcher bars--with one being warped and one chipped. If you are building any canvases make sure youre bars arent bent or chipped!! It happens frequently at the store. Also, the customer service wasnt very good either. I was there fora while because I had to change my order because they didnt have what I needed and when I was there 5 minutes after closing they stared me down while I made a phone call and then kicked me out and told me to come back tomorrow. Its really unfortunate because its so close to the college I attend but I definitely dont plan on returning.

There is no better art supply store anywhere near this area.
