Great to visit this shop in the quaint and laid back town of Beverley. They were super friendly and patient with my crazy, young children. We picked up a few comics and some cool action figures, plus a doll for my daughter. The kids section was also really great!

It was clear walking in today that the customer is the LAST thing on anyone’s mind. I spent about 2-3 minutes browsing the overpriced selection of beat up action figures, and trade paperbacks stored on shelves that are allowing the books to warp and bend. An associate and who I would assume to be the owner were discussing allowing the associate to wake up later and their conversation was very focused as I was never greeted or acknowledged walking in. For the intense pricing of the store, a bit of customer service to grease the wheels would’ve gone a long way. There’s no shortage of other lovely comic shops on the north shore. Best wishes on your future of customer service.I see reading the other comments that the staff has a consistent issue with people handling. The berating response to this also confirms my point.

I used to support this business but won’t anymore. They claim to be supportive of local artists, but actually are incredibly rude to and/or completely blow off artists looking to sell with them. Many of my artist friends have experienced this. It’s hit or miss whether you’ll get an employee that’s nice or rude when you walk in. I started to only come by when I saw certain employees working but it’s not worth the stress anymore. I’ll just go elsewhere.

Not a welcoming environment at all. Staff was extremely rude to several customers including myself. The selection was not great either.Theres that great customer service again. I entered your store by myself on a short break from work hoping to find a good book to add to my collection instead I was met by an employee that seemed disinterested in his job and was rude to everyone who entered into the awful store. Now reading some of the previous reviews I see this is a common occurence. Good luck to you.

My names Chris and I have been in Jerrys comics and paper Asylum Im kind of glad Jerrys Comics does not exist anymore because paper Asylum is 1000% a better comic book store than Jerrys Comics ever was and in my opinion paper Asylum is on par with Harrisons in Salem and personally the back that Beverly needed a comic book shop that was at the level of Harrisons is a sigh of relief with paper Asylum now in Beverly and I love the place

Walked into Paper Asylum tonight to check it out and were greeted by a guy who says Guess you missed the closed sign on the door, huh? We were both shocked, and I think the guy could tell we were surprised by his statement, so he backtracked and said, Yeah, we are closed, but since youre here feel free to look around. No thank you, we were barely steps into the place and turned around and walked out. This guy either doesnt care at all about the business or doesnt want to make money. And by the way, the closed sign on the front door is the most UNDERSTATED closed sign Ive ever seen. Treat people nicely. Even if you had said, Hey sorry, we just closed, feel free to come back another time, we wouldve happily obliged and probably apologized for not noticing the store hours. We wont step foot into this place ever again. Good luck.

So I walked into this place twice now, and both times had an unpleasant experience with the same guy. I spent some time browsing, and not once did he approach me or ask if I needed help. When I asked him about something he acted arrogant and obtuse. Will not be coming back.

Aside from the selection, atmosphere, welcoming vibe (funny to say, but its rare in the comic world), the best part of my first experience was how much individual help and attention they provided. I came in looking for a gift for my art student niece. They asked me all about her and then hand-selected some ideas and titles. I came away with a couple great books, and strong desire to recommend every fan I know to go here. Plus, they nailed it! My niece was psyched and appreciative. So many good things to say about this place and these guys. Go!

These guys screwed alot of people over on ebay. they were taking orders for batman damned when it was selling at an average of 50 dollars for both covers for 40. so me and about 100 or more other people chose them since they have a good feeback record well they didnt actually have them yet and even tho in the title said it was gonna be rare chose to sell them before they got there extra copies in. a guy I know that runs a small comic book Shop was smart enough to know he wouldnt be getting any more when I asked him about buying a few copies. all they had to do was put pre sale for back orders so people knew the risk but instead we all got notifications of the cancellation when the set was up to 150 already. also been 4 days and no refund yet. I know this is long but I hope you choose to go some place else to buy your comics if only to help me and all the others they screwed out of time and money thank you for your time if you read all this angry rant. paper asylum sucks.
