Berkeley Symphonys Enigma concert on Oct. 2 at Zellerbach was fantastic! The Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47 was amazing: played by Jennifer Koh. This orchestra is right up there with the best! Elgars Variations on an original Theme, Op. 36 (Enigma) also terrific. The commisisoned piece by Bettison, Sea Shaped had some beautiful moments. The orchestra commissions one new piece for each concert. Caneiro, who conducts, and also choses the music, is a joy to watch: she is so completely involved with the music. This subscription is the the best deal in town.:)

An eye-opening performance of Shostakovich Symphony 13 on May 4, 2017. Bravo!
