It looked great from the outside and the treat shop next door sold the best $0.50 hot chocolate! Due to Covid-19, tours needed to be booked in advance, so we didnt get to tour. But the people working the door were very polite, despite having to do repetitive statements about covid rules and entry. Would love to visit again

A very interesting place to visit for business-mind people who want feel the spirit of the supermarket giant. It was initially called Walmart Visitor Center but as it housed so many artifacts about the Store, it was later called Museum to better reflect its importance in showing Walmarts history. A nice place to visit in Bentonville.

I just want to give everyone a heads up when visiting fall 2020.I was not aware this was such an in demand ticket. You must make a reservation days in advance! Even on a random late October Wednesday they were sold out for days. I didnt want to try to plan everything with Crystal Bridges tickets because I didnt want to rush. Oh well. I am surprised as Crystal Bridges and Momentary were easy to visit.

While in town for the weekend visiting family we discovered this museum existed. We were not disappointed. The old town square where it is located is well maintained and the museum is curated nicely. Lots to see! Worth the visit, especially since it is free. Our family most enjoyed the ice cream in the parlor and I enjoyed that the total cost for seven of us was only $10!

If you are in the area, you are crazy not to stop and visit this free tourist spot. The ice cream is cheap. The museum is fascinating. The little store next to the museum is the first site of the precursor to Walmart. Tons of neat low cost souviners. Clean restrooms and the square it sets on is quaint and idellic. Crystal bridges museum is right around the corner as are some pretty great trails and a kids science museum. Great family friendlyday trip.

If you love Walmart, then you need to visit for this history lesson. Its free. You can park for free on the street. Its not a large museum, but they do a good job at tracing the history of how Sam Walton turned a few Been Franklin stores into one of Americas most iconic brands. Its as much about the history of the company as it is a lesson about Sam. Interesting to see his office. Staff was friendly, too!

Cool artifacts and awesome information inside this absolutely FREE museum! This museum has a short movie and details the life and history of Mr. Sam Walton himself starting right at his very one first store, all the way to the Walmart empire we all know and love today. Theres also a retro five and dime (but with modern prices) in his actual first store, and an ice cream parlor. Check it out, you wont regret it.

My three kids, aged 7, 9, and 11, all had fun looking at the exhibits. Plus, there is a gift shop and ice cream parlor, but its all at Walmart pricing, not inflated gift shop prices! Surrounded by historic downtown Bentonville, there are plenty other attractions which make for a fun day!

This museum was super neat because it was in downtown Bentonville. Attached to the museum is an old-school soda fountain. We ate at the city market and it wasn’t in downtown but it was great. If you have kids it was a little trickier to eat there but for adults it was awesome. Downtown Bentonville is beautiful and the Walmart museum is very informative. It’s been in the same place for a long time. It is free of charge just like many things in Bentonville. We also went to the Crystal Bridges art museum which is also run by The Walton family. If you are art lover it is a must do. It is free of charge and stunning. Bentonville overall is a really fun town. Walmart museum definitely was a must see if you’re at Walmart shopper. You even can get to print out your own name at Walmart name tag. I only gave it four stars due to the size it was kind of small other than that it was wonderful.

Nice free museum detailing the life of Sam Walton and the rise of Walmart. I find it a little ironic that Mr. Walton came up with the 10ft customer rule (saying hello to any customer within 10ft) and no one at the museum followed the rule. Lots of information in the museum and they have his office set up just how it used to be. A couple of hands on things for little kids, but definitely not geared towards them.

Whether you love or hate Wal-Mart, there is no denying it has changed America and the way people shop. The museum is set up in a way to see how the business started from very small... getting to very big.Sam Walton’s philosophy of bringing a more affordable way to live... I always thought was a corporate line. However, there are many old newspaper ads that say that very thing... dated way back in the 1950’s. So whatever Wal-Mart is today, you can see that really was how it started.Sam’s old truck is on display, as well as his office and his presidential medal of Freedom... a cool photo op.Oh, and it’s free!!

This small museum is PACKED full of cool Walton family/Walmart artifacts and history.Very easily laid out to walk through, with something to read or look at during every step of your walk through. There is a massive amount of text to read and very few visual things, but overall this is a really awesome stop to go into if you are in the area.Completely free to walk in and see. My favorite part was seeing his office and the way that the ‘pull out for more information’ drawers’ handles were the shopping cart handles through the years. Neat little addition that really stood out to me.When you go in, don’t miss the place to print off a barcode with your name on it! Cool thing to have to show you’ve been there.
