I had an enjoyable afternoon there with a friend I would have appreciated some seating maybe a park bench or two near the lakefront but they have rocks. I think some conveniently-located trash cans and a little maintenance would help all of the beer bottles beer cans and trash throughout the small hike to the lakefront also.

This is a terrific spot to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. You can walk around the entire mountain if you are looking for a little cardio. Otherwise, be sure to bring your fishing rod. You may catch a few.

Love this place. Half the park was flooded and the picnic tables were under water enough we could sit and relax in the water/in the shade-awesome. The bathrooms were clean but we had to provide our own tp.

So beautiful especially when its not many ppl. I fall asleep by being so relaxed by the waves. $5 entry fee. Worth every penny. Spacious good for big groups or just yourself. Great for swimming small children as well. Just discovered a basketball goal as well. The staff is so friendly at the gate. Restrooms are clean.

Love Stillhouse Lake. Water is so blue and clear. Lake is never overly packed and busy like other area lakes. Always a great day with the family.

Is ok. Lots n lots of cigarette butts and soda cans in the water!!! Do a walk down (spray down?) Before having ur fun....I am newish here so....maybe pandemic related and is normally cleaner? I dunno...

This lake is nice and clean theres never a lot of boats on it at one time I feel like we have the lake to ourselves most days

This place is always great regardless if its packed at night or dead early in the morning.Nature without drama and cell phones is always the way to go.

This place is jam packed on a nice weekend. Weekdays not so much you could be the only one there. Nice area well maintained lots of picnic area each having a BBQ to use. Restrooms located throughout the park. Boat launch and marina area are also very nice.

Great place to come, relax, and play in the water. Levels fluctuate due to it being used for drinking water but still a lot of fun.

We went to get the boat out of the marina and everyone there was extremely helpful. The fish were visible today it looked like a large aquarium.

It depends on what time of the year you go, depends on how good this place is. The Christmas lights are slowly declining each year, and the swimming area has become quite a dumping ground for trash and broken glass and cans are a constant concern for anyone swimming. The recreational rentals are quite fun and reasonably priced.

The river delivered so many memories to me, I loved it when I would just hang out and swim here

By far it is so much better than belton lake, when my son, nephew and I went fishing on fathers day we caught almost 30 fish. By far a record for us! Everyone had a good time and it was a fathers day for the record books!!

I love going to the lake, this has always been a go-to place whenever Ive came to Killeen/ Ft Hood area. I seem to always forget that I need to bring some water shoes due to the sharp rocks and under water plants. Volleyball area along with covered picnic areas and grills. There is a restroom for changing and using the bathroom of course, but bring your own TP.

Beautiful clear water, swim beach for the kids (bring water shoes) basketball court, tons of fun!

Serene stillness, a gentle breeze flowing, bringing the fragrance of mesquite and the freshwaters of the spring fed Lake Stillhouse. I wondered...why am I the only other vehicle here? Such a beautiful place, Stillhouse Hollow...once a fiercely guarded stronghold of local Native Americans, is a Texas legend, once the backwoods hideout for local outlaw stills making sour mash moonshine, and then after prohibition was repealed it became an infamous bastion for wanted outlaws and underground drug labs. Credit the Texas Rangers, FBI, Bell County Lawmen, and paid informants, with cleaning up Stillhouse Hollow. Today it is a bright and cheery mecca for waterskiing with the parks a Sundance of boat launches. Not ri mention the parks many picnic areas, each equipped with its own BBQ pit. (Plenty of mesquite deadfall around to use in lieu of charcoal). The park opens around 7 a.m., and closes around 9 p.m. I chose not to go swimming and instead walked ariyndlooking at rocks. Was that a dinosaur bone in that limestone? Sure looks like. There are also plentiful Indian artifacts laying around for the pickins, should one have an anthropological itch to scratch.Hurry on down to Stillhouse Hollow park. And if you think you smell a little moonshine in the air, well, lets just say this place harbors a few ghosts from the past.Thank you all for reading this heartfelt review. John J. Love this lake! Fantastic visibility for snorkeling or diving. Plenty of perch for spearfishing, though Im not sure if local ordinances permit it so Id suggest asking first.Gorgeous water, comfortable temps & a mix of sand and gravel beaches. Also a great spot for kayaking if its not too windy.

Beautiful lake, lots of hiking, fishing, ect. Not sure if youre allowed to camp, but Im certain you could find a good stealth camping spot if you didnt light a fire and cleaned up thoroughly when you were done.

The water is clear, its just really low at the moment. every pavilion has a bbq grill. I didnt see any playgrounds. $5 admission fee. If your an active military soldier, go to Live Oaks park right next to the Belton damn to recieve a pass for free entry

Beautiful lake where minnow swim to nibble ones feet. Includes shower in girls rest room for rinsing off after swimming. Must bring own soap including hand soap. Free life jackets to use while swimming in the lake.

Good time. Water is clear. Like the area of the beach where bricks are layed out to give better footing. Nice island that can be swam to without much effort. Basic hiking trails too. Can hike and swim all in one day. Like this better than Dana Peak due to less sharp rocks in the beach area.

Loved hiking with my 10 yearold at the park its fairly small so we did manage to walk around the whole thing before he got tired and ready to go back home. Very beautiful around sunset.

Its a quaint place. Not a terrible park. Nice if you just want to escape for a wee bit. Ok fishing.

We reserved Island Pavillon for a party. The office lady was very friendly and helpful. It was on the lake, which added to our fun. Great choice for an outdoor event.

I love the park. It is closed October thru March, but when its open, its a great place for swimming, boating, kayaking and having a picnic.

Nice area to swim, especially for younger kids. Restrooms are decent compared to others Ive seen (Chalk Ridge Falls Park). They dont have adequate trash cans, so do everyone a favor and take your own bag for trash. A little bit of respect for nature goes a long way!

This lake is beautiful! Clean water to swim and big fishes to catch. Clean restrooms and only 5$ per vehicle for all day pass. They have many tables with bbq grills not to close to each other so no one feels crowded. Been there twice and never packed.

Great place to hang out & relax with your friends & family & ride boats, kayak, or even a jetski. The water is great when you go on a nice sunny day. Although, the bathroom need to rid of wasp nest that is placed near the toilet paper. Dont wanna risk getting stung by one! Other than that, stillhouse park is a very nice place to go to.

So nice! Beautiful clear water, pebble beach for swimming (wear water shoes, thank me later) some pavilions have grills, restrooms and shower close to swim beach. Havent fished there yet, but people were there fishing, said bait was worms and they caught catfish.

Trails are great for hiking.

It is a very good park to visit.I would recommend this.

I would have given it a five star but there was no soap or paper towels in the bathrooms and the toilet paper is not well stocked and that needs more attention! Other then that everything was great!
