I love the wide open outdoor area before you go in. The kids love the art room where they have specific craft projects set up and you can also do free form painting. The kids pretend marketplace, kitchen, and dinner table is charming. Last but not least there are library books you can check out.

Fun place to experience with the family, or friends, but the staff is not very friendly, not very respectful, and just doesnt seem to be enthused with being there.

Great place to take younger children for a few hours! Our 5 year old granddaughter had so much fun playing & pretending. Lots of things to do & see. There are many art supplies in one of the rooms that allow young people to create something to take with them when they leave. There is an area for 3 years and under that is fun for the tiny tots too! We will be going often as the northwest has plenty of days where we need something to do indoors.

Really fun interactive kid exhibits. Lots of different exhibits. The back room has an art area. Kids spent 1.5 hours, and only experienced about half of it.

SUCH a fun place for kids of all ages! Mine are 4 years old and 9 months old, and they both have a blast exploring all the exhibits here. The art room is great for your budding artist with lots of different projects and mediums, and the other STEM focused areas are engaging and educational. This is one of our favorite places for a rainy day in Bham!

My almost 2 year old loved it here! I loved that all the activities were imagination based so there are endless ways to play for all ages. The facility was easy to find and very clean. My only complaint is that adults are charged the $10 entrance fee even if they are only going to the family/childrens portion. I dont live close by so it felt like a lot of money just for my child to play for a few hours.

Great place for the kiddos to play indoors and there are so many options for them, all of my children like going ages 2-10. Enjoy the wine bar (for snacks, drinks, and cookies afterwards) within the museum also but I havent actually viewed the museum itself because I always have the little ones!

Totally worth it for me. You can play tons of vintage video games and various other amusing games and feel like a kid again. Parking is a bit of a challenge and and they should stay open latter on the weekends but other than that its perfect. Family friendly. I took my camera around and got some amazing pictures the wife playing games. The staff was polite and even asked me if I was enjoying myself. Cant wait to go back next year. Dont miss this one if interested in vintage game machines of all types.

A lot of moms on Facebook complain that this place “isn’t as nice as the old kids museum” but my son has lots of fun here. I like that he’s able to run around and explore without me feeling like he will get lost. I also appreciate that if you pay for the day you also get the other parts of the museum. The only thing I dislike is there is an older lady who sometimes works in the children’s museum section and she’s ruder than hell. Pursed lips, no smile, immediately stated when I walked in my first time that they “limit cell phone use” and to not be on my phone, as if I had it out and wasn’t paying attention to my son (I assume it’s because I look like a younger mother, but it was a pretty accusatory tone that she used when staring this). Overall, this place is worth the slight irritation she causes a few times a week.

We spent almost 5 hours here at the different interactive stations. The staff were great and the kids had a blast. I encourage parents to look over the many games and bin options that you can ask the front desk for. There is so much to offer from the FIG, take advantage of it all!

Fantastic place to take young children, especially when the weather is less than optimal. There are usually lots of kids and parents enjoying the space yet I have never felt like it was overcrowded. I love that they allow covered drinks and usually stop somewhere to grab a coffee before heading here.
