The parking lot is small and fills up fast. There are plenty of trails which are not too challenging and will keep you occupied for hours. The trails are well maintained and marked; there is plenty to see. I went here with my two boys (7&9) and neither has an issue, after 4 hours of hiking and finding a place to have lunch we all left tuckered out with only memories taken.Nice little hiking area.

Great hike. Lots of different trails/ difficulties to choose from. Exactly what you would expect of a New England hike: a bit of marsh, a lot of evergreens and granite. Biggest challenge is trying to get pictures to convey just how cathedral- like the ravine feels. Deep/tall, depending on your angle, but very memorable.

Always a great place to relax and enjoy nature. The waterfalls are always fantastic to check out. Make sure to bring micro-spikes from the first snow until April or May, as the trails are usually ice until mid to late spring. I see too many people going in sneakers or fashion boots and they are slipping everywhere. The hike to the old Mill site is well worth the time and typically my turn around point. On the way there, I usually take the ravine trail to follow the many waterfalls and cascades that are just after Pulpit Rock. Plan for 4-5 hours if you are looking to stop and enjoy the views.

A beautiful place to walk. There are multiple trails and quite a bit of land to explore. Trails are well marked and maps are placed periodically, which is very useful given the size of the conservation area. The gorges and rock faces are fantastic. We went in late October and the temperature in the gorge was quite a bit cooler than the surrounding area. Overall it is a fantastic place to spend some time exploring and getting outside.

Love pulpit rock conservation area! I have walked it in every season and it is always wonderful. The trails are well maintained, and are suitable for children. There are a lot of roots on the trail and some rocks so I would reccomend wearing hiking sneakers for the best traction. You can choose to walk down into the gorge but is optional. There is also a teepee that someone constructed which is fun to see. Its truly a great place.

Gr
Review №35

The rock itself is nothing special. It is almost impossible to get a perspective of it from above. From below it is a muddy mess at the bottom which is the main thing you see from either angle. The most exciting part was watching my dog trying to pull a big stick out of the mud at the bottom. Anywhere near the stream or bottom of the rock get very buggy. The rest of the conservation area does have well marked trails good for walking with dogs or children.

Very nice public nature area with well marked trails. The natural pulpit rock basin is impressive and the second largest in the state. However, it does dry up in the summer. There is also a very beautiful shaded shallow gorge with a babbling Brook with numerous little waterfalls and mini basins.

My girlfriend and I take 2 of our dogs here for a walk once in a while. The scenery is great and the trails are easy and kept up with. The pulpit area is a great site to see. There are lots of wooden bridges over the softer ground and plenty of trail maps along the well marked trails. Great place for a short outing.

Da
Review №47

Pulpit Rock is a great place to go for a trail walk. The terrain is mostly flat, so its also joggable for those who want to run. There is one trail that gets some elevation, that is the orange trail. There are two main entrances. I will take the Joppa Hill entrance if I feel like running, and the New Boston entrance for more of a hike. This is a well marked area, and you can walk as little or as much as you want. There are enough trails for five plus miles.

This is a well-maintained trail and true to the distance marked on the maps. We took the 0.6 Kennard trail (white markers) from the parking area to Pulpit Rock. It was a bit rocky and with a lot of exposed roots, so probably not good for young children or others with physical limitations (my husband is 5 weeks post total hip replacement and found it very challenging, but doable). The rock itself is interesting, but dont get too close to the edge (again, probably not good for curious kids). This is also not a true waterfall, more of a trickle through the rocks, even after heavy recent rainfall. Still worth a look, though!

Its good place to have a nature hike. The path is a bit difficult if you dont like or cant handle lots of roots and rocks everywhere. But it is a bit crowded at times which makes the hike a bit trickier and harder to enjoy.

Love this place we go there 3 times a year summer is the best, fall in pretty too, winter is a challenge. It has a bunch of trails from easy to hard. Although the difficult ones really are not that bad. The view of the water is beautiful. 2 perfect spot for taking pictures and viewing. Dog friendly although you do have to watch people tend to let there dogs run free. (Problem if your afraid dogs or have a dog agressive dog) The hike is beautiful and worth it. As long as you pay attention to the color trail your on your fine. Getting lost can happen but not hard to find your way out. I recommend this place for beginners and experienced.

The directions Google give you to get here are horrible! Eventually you are going to end up in a neighborhood. We were almost ready give up and drive off when we decided to drive a bit more down the street and there, tucked away in a little entrance you can spot a small parking lot and thats the entrance of the hiking trail. It was a beautiful walk and there were other families. At some point the trail divides in three trails, some more challenging than others but each trail is easy to follow. Excellent walk and will do it again
