Decent short trails for kids, small pond to walk around. Something to get outside quickly
What a lovely park! Ive lived near here for 30 years and am embarassed to say that today was my first visit. I was investigating the hiking trails for a group event later this month. I found the trails (woodland roads, really) to be very well maintained and quite wide. Very comfortable for hiking with our year-round tick concerns. The trails are interconnected in a network that allows you to hike a decent distance, even though the park is rather small. I suggest you download the map from the website or snap a pic of the large map in the parking lot before you head into the woods. Most trail intersections are marked with numbered posts that are easily found on the map, even if the trail signage is missing (which it is on some posts). You wont get lost - civilization is all around you! They also have a Monarch Butterfly facility, a delightful bench structure for a family or small group chat, a picnic pavilion and a couple ponds. Im very impressed and look forward to many more visits.
Cute place to take kids. They had a story hike through the butterfly garden. The story was written by a local author and very cute. Then we stopped at the butterfly house and were shown monarchs in different stages of their life. After that we walked over to the pond. There is more hiking available but we ran out of time. Definitely making this a stop on our way back through PA.
Ive come to this park for years, it is a peaceful serene spot to reflect and throw pinecones into the water.
Porta potty. And the pavilion was pretty run down. Friend said walking trails are good.
Beautiful outdoor area with plenty of shade. Porta-potty was out of hand sanitizer...not good during the pandemic. Didnt see it, but a butterfly house to see. A few ladies from the quilt guild got together and we sat around chatting and working on hand-sewing. So nice just to get together with friends.
Nice hidden gem. Feels like youre miles away in a big forest but youre right by Walmart.
Cute place. Love the greenhouse with Monarchs. Friendly staff.
Great trails and very peaceful. Would be very helpful to mark trees along the different trails as we had no clue which way to go at intersections and holy cow you can get totally lost and turned around if you dont have an app on phone to get you back to where you started.
Amazing place, tons of trails and quiet!
Great Place where I go to find Peace and to restore my spirit. solitude
A wonderful surprise will be back
Peaceful nature park. Has a walking trail. Clean and well maintained.
Enjoyed the butterfly garden.
Beautiful serene little place. Great little trails and places to adventure to. Wonderful for a photography shoot.
Beautiful park! Nice and quiet place to get to know ones self or take the family for an nice adventure!
Lovely little park
This well kept Nature Park is a hidden gem. It is so beautiful and peaceful. We got to see a Monarch butterfly release today and it was totally amazing. Many trails and paths to explore. Take time to visit, have lunch under the shelters, enjoy the peace and nature around you there.
Beautiful quiet place, great for taking pictures, or enjoying nature
Great little park. A hidden gem!
I like being able to seem like you are out away from people, while still actually being pretty close to civilization
Its a different world in there.Go getcha some.
This is a beautiful park with trails and fishing. Nice pavilion for social gatherings. Great for just hanging out and taking the dog for a walk or just strolling along the trails. Attentive park manager and the places seems to be very well maintained.
Clean. Very calm. Well maintained. A great place to family outing or peaceful retreat!
Great place to go relax and enjoy nature. We had family pictures here. Dogs are welcome as long as you clean up after them. Our dogs love it here to explore the walking trails.
Nature park is beautiful. Nice trails and greenery. Dont miss the butterfly garden. Good for a hike or picnic.
Lovely park with trails in the middle of nature. They just need to put down some gravel in the muddy spots.
Always a good place to go for a picnic, hiking or to see the butterflies and moths. Always a wonderful thing when someone is trying to perseve wildlife. You can easily go there and spend a few hours and still not see every bit of the park.
Such a beautiful and well maintained park with awesome hiking trails. I wonder if there is a way to contact the people who maintain to let them know that the ticks are really bad. While we were there today I brushed 2 off of me and when we got home I pulled 2 off of my side that were attached. Its so well maintained that maybe if they were aware that the issue exists, they could spray the area. Not sure if thats even possible. Lol. We love it there but the ticks are bad!
Grew up playing in these woods. Very well maintained and plenty of small leisure trails to hike.
Good place to take a walk through the woods. Some paths can be swampy / flooded pending on recent weather.
Love this park. But please be careful. I was tick bit tonight. I even used Off and it didnt help.
Google is full of it. The closest Ive been is Wal-Mart. It seems that if you drive or walk past someplace they think you visited.
We love this park! Its so beautiful and the hiking is easy enough for our kids as well. There is one tough hill towards the beginning of the trail, but other than that, its not bad. There is a small pond by the parking area with some seating to enjoy the view. There are several kid friendly geo-caches here. And its close to Chippewa, so its easy to get to and easy to find. Porta potty is by the parking area.
Awesome place near one of the greatest plans in Chippewa (Ponderosa Estates).
Great park in the middle of city scape. Plenty of parking and enough trails to keep you busy for hours.
Beautifully maintained slice of Heaven for walks with the dog and fun with the family. Fishing is allowed (cut the barb off your hook and gently return the fish to the water, please!) and there are several geocaches on well-marked trails.
Very nice park. Clean and well taken care of. A nice alternative to larger, and often more crowded, Bradys Run. Be sure to check out the greenhouse and butterflies if you go during the summer months!
There is so much peace and beauty here
Quiet, relaxing and lots of beautiful surroundings.
Beautiful hiking trails!
Peaceful little park with trails. Absolutely charming.
Neat park youd never know is there unless youre looking for it. Nice trail maps.
I love this ideallick park. I enjoyed a peaceful lunch in a natural setting.
Very nice park and very clean, trails are kept nice but very poorly marked and the maps they give you are poor quality too cant even see the numbers on map.
Dont tell anyone; perfect spot for a get away!
A great little park full of nature trails hidden inside chippewa. The longest trail is a loop a little over a mile with a bunch of smaller trails.
