Appears to be a nicer, higher quality hotel than I usually get. Staff was very helpful. They have airport shuttle service to MBS airport near Bay City. MI.I was disappointed that shuttle starts running at 7am but I had to be checking in at airport at 5:45am.I plan on staying there on my return trip.King size bed was comfortable, pillows worked very well.I think any one would be suprised at Expedias rate as opposed to the beautiful place...lots of farm land on way to airport. 5+

Neither their website or their phone message let us know they were closed. The website gave the hours they were supposedly open so we drive from out if town only to find locked doors.

We go here every year for the kids birthday because they love the indoor outdoor pool in the winter. This year we get there, with 7 kids... Oh the pool is broken and wont be fixed until april.. So we have 7 kids in a hotel with nothing to do. Total waste of money. Definitely could have told us that the pool was down when we called and booked the rooms. But nope.

Poor internet, when on business I need reliable internet service. Some rooms have had renovations such as newer beds and paint. Some of the rooms still have tube TVs. Located outside the city limits so it is quite and the staff is awesome.

This was the worst visit at this hotel. The pool and hot tub closed for season. The headboard on the kids bed fell off the wall. There was an oreo cookie behind it. The breakfast was nasty see pic of sausage gravy. Toaster didnt work . The tables were not washed. Have stayed here for the last 10 years this time of the year will not stay again . Had 3 rooms and none of them were near the others.

I have stayed here the last 12 years when in the area I have never had as bad of experience as I did this time. Indoor outdoor all season pool was closed for the season nothing on the website about that. That breakfast room was filthy tables were not washed. The toaster not working and the biscuits and gravy looked as if it were just grease. Next time will not be staying here. Got 3 rooms and none of them near the others. One was one another floor.

Place has the makings of a GREAT stay. On a golf course, convenient to I75, nice layout. But owner has not invested in any upkeep. Looks like no improvements since it was built. Could be so much nicer, if they were interested in the place.

This used to be a beautiful resort and golf club. The hotel was nice but fairly empty. Large conference rooms and dining room. Room was wonderful with a view of the pool and golf course. Clean hotel. Easy check in and out. Nice bar. They no longer have tennis courts. I would absolutely stay again...Im just surprised they dont have more business.

Disappointed that the bar was closed on New Years Eve. Also the pool&fitness center.No flat screen tv,no refrigerator,no microwave. The only thing great was the pillow top bed. The counter person tried to says the room was not paid for when it was.

No housekeeping staff on site on our second day.Continental breakfast difficult to locate and offered nothing but a few bagels and empty coffee pots. Cold cereal but I saw no milk.Front desk was staffed intermittently. No one present at desk at checkout.Everything about the hotel struck me as part time help.Very disappointing as I recall what Bay Valley once was.

Love the staff here ! Awesome food in the lounge! Construction was loud and made us check out an hour and a half earlier than required. No hot tub unfortunately.

We recently spent 2 nights at this resort. All of the people we dealt with from booking to check in to restaurant workers to people on the golf course were very professional in our dealings with them. The golf course was in good shape and was fun to play. The food in the resort was very good and reasonably priced. The pool area is a really great area to hang out or enjoy yourself after a hot day on the golf course or visiting places in the area. The rooms while clean and comfortable were a little outdated, there was no flat screen TV in the room, I havent seen one of those big TVs in a long time. This is the first golf resort we have been to that did not have a fridge and microwave in the room. A short phone call took care of fridge and microwave, they were delivered shortly after. Having said all of that, if in our travels we get the chance to go back we will. It was a nice place to stay and we enjoyed ourselves while we were there.

Pool and hot tub are closed for good,, out dated rooms. Worst place ever to stay. Dont waste your money on such a dive

The view. Golf course, river, and pool. Beautiful. Issue with air conditioner. Work well until night. Woke up stuffy, hot. Moved dial to colder. Nothing worked. Night is for sleeping not roasting so I opened the sliding door. Then the room was too light. Told the front desk. Call and we would move you Not practical at 1am packing up to move.

Had reservation for 9/26-9/29. Checked in late evening on 9/26, didnt notice that receptionist entered 9/27 as our check-out date. Came back 9/27 afternoon to find that we were locked out of our room. Got the actual check-out date sorted out with the front desk, but our room wasnt cleaned that day. Came back to the room at 2:30 pm on 9/28 and the room still had not been cleaned. Werent you informed that we clean every other day? No, and apparently while sorting out the check-out date the front desk made 9/27 a new check-in date. Requested cleaning; maid came at 3:45. Bed was uncomfortable. No extra blankets or pillows in the closet or drawers. Continental breakfast was pathetic so we ate out every morning. Table service at buffet dinner event was poor (9/28)--no refills of water glasses and no water pitchers on tables. Food was very good, but they ran out of desserts (guest took more than one?).

Property has character but is in need of major clean up and painting on exterior. Interior is clean and lobby is amazing. Restaurant in need of a good deep cleaning

Booked a suite and while the room itself was spacious. Not a traditional suite. Also the Bathroom was a joke. The tub shower was designed for someone my height 52. My 64 husband couldnt stand up in it. Our suite was on the 3rd floor. But sadly no elevator service. So we had to carry our multiple bags up 6 flights of stairs. The sofa was an old dilapidated futon in need of replacement. The vanity was so tiny and not makeup friendly. We were there to attend a wedding and the buffet food was over cooked vegetables and tepid meat. The brides parents room had no heat.. which they tolerated for 2 nights before anyone from maintenance appeared to look at. Another relatives room had a barely flushing toilet . Althought I was not surprised by any of this. When I booked our suite and tried to ask about amenities, the reservation clerk said to me. Maam you do realize this is kind of a dump... Alrighty then.

Got what we paid for for sure. The only situation that really bugged me with the stay was when we asked if they had any cribs for our 2 year old at the front desk, we were told No, we do not have cribs by the woman at the front desk, however in the pamplets they gave us and left in the room stated they had cribs available for $10 in the lobby. All in all the stay was very nice, I wouldnt be on here leaving a review if that situation hadnt happened.

From a distance outside the place was absolutely beautiful. However, when you got close, it was extremely rundown and the service was terrible. The breakfast area was not at all done right. There was no one there to clean up, the food was not fresh, it was really a disaster. The rooms were clean and nice, but also needed updates.

Upon arrival, I was not impressed. The facility is dated. I got to my double bed room and I felt like I just stepped back into 199?. I checked in and left.When I got back with luggage in had, my room key card did not work. I went to the front desk and they told me my room was upgraded!I got a king bed with a nice mattress and window opening (is a plus)!I definitely recommend this place, food was good, staff was very welcoming, once renovations are complete, this will be a very charming resort.

Tried to play a 6 person scramble was told to split up, I have no problem with that. After a couple holes a group of 8 group rolled up behind our 2nd group. The ranger told us they have special permission, and we did not. He also told us they were members and play here regular, we later find out they were not. I had no problem with telling us to split up, but to have another group and lie about theyre situation. Very upset with how this course is managed, I will not be golfing here again. I recommend golfing at another course in Saginaw, theyre is many others who are more welcoming.

Had a very nice stay attending a wedding. The event room was nice, catering was excellent. Have no complaints.

Nice course. Played on a Thursday. Well maintained. Clearly on the upswing. Fairways in excellent condition. Greens a bit rough but its early in the growing season. Ill be back

We had dinner at Players Lounge on a Friday night. The food was not only delicious, it had a nice presentation as well. We really enjoyed the live music too! On top of this, the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely return!

The entrance to the resort is very unique, warm and inviting.

I had my wedding here on 11.17.18 and was blown away with the staff here. Im not sure why they have so many negative reviews, they definitely are not warranted. Megan, the event coordinator, is amazing. She made the planning process so easy, and responded to each and every email and answered every question I had in a timely manner. While some of the rooms are outdated, for the price, who cares? I didnt expect anything modern. My guests had no complaints, they just wanted a bed to sleep in so they didnt have to worry about driving. Food was good, guests had a great time, and if were to do it all over again, Id still book with Bay Valley.

Came here for a wedding reception so I can only comment about that. Great location just a short distance from the expressway. Reception hall had a rustic feel to it. Nice and cozy. The food was good too. The banquet staff were very efficient.

I enjoyed a cigar outside, and they charged me for a cleaning charge and damage to the room. They found a cigar wrapper, and damage of a cigar on the sink (that might have been there 20 years and charged to 100 peoples room bill.)Service was not terrible, but it was an awful place for a conference attended by people with mobility issues (like senior citizens.)Last visit was in 2016, and I would never go back.

Very very nice . Quiet like a funeral.no one at front desk. Stood there a couple minutes. When lady came out she was very nice. No one there more like a hall for rent. No Christmas music playing not very interesting or inviting.. shame nice looking place.pleaae put up a sign up at the light I cant believe you didnt think of that on your own..........

It was a fairly nice hotel that seemed a little run down. The beds were very uncomfortable and old to the point of having sleeping indentation from previous guests. The showers didn’t hold a temperature during the shower. The front desk clerk was super nice and was very welcoming.

This is a great place for hosting multiple events. I went to a grad party recently here and the place had a great atmosphere with a view of the golf course!

Run down, poorly maintained and overall a subpar job maintaining the facility especially as relates to banquets.

Rooms are very out dated, our room had serious water damage and the a/c was taped in to place... you literally could see out to the parking lot around the acBut I called down to the front desk and they moved me to an outdated room but no where near as bad as the last place.

The amenities at the hotel are great for the price. The room i stayed in had a tube tv and I needed to pay 5 dollars for a mini fridge. The restaurant and bar had excellent food. I was disappointed there was no guest laundry. The free continental breakfast was good.

Resort is much larger than it appears, with hallways that go in every direction and seem to go on forever. Its a really cool older building, with slightly dated decor but it goes it all flows really well. It makes feel like im staying at grandmas house for the weekend, which is definitely not a bad thing. Pool, hot tub, restaurant. Would highly recommend if in the area.

This is an OK place to stay, but nothing to write home about. The entrance and lobby area are impressive, but the room fell short in several areas. Workmanship was mediocre regarding the wallpaper and tile in the bathroom, and the bathroom door creaked like in a horror movie. For some odd reason, there was a fire sprinkler in the ceiling of the shower (!). I guess well be OK if the shower ever bursts into flames. Also, although the toilet is equipped with grab bars, the shower has none. Theres no seat in the shower, and a hospital-grade shower bench is provided, rather institutional looking.The HVAC unit it the room is difficult to get to, as it is blocked by one of the beds. No handicapped person could ever get to it. Also, it does not have just a fan setting -- you set a temp, and either heat or cool, and it cycles on and off all night. I was hoping to run the fan to cover the noise coming down the hall from the bar & karaoke room.The breakfast was average - scrambled eggs, bacon, waffles, cereal, yogurt, toast, etc. The entrance requires you to carry your luggage up a substantial flight of stone steps. There is an access elevator off to one side, but I did not see it until I was checking out. There appears to be very little area to just hang out outside your room. One final issue is that the TV channels feature no menu or guide -- you just have to click through, channel by channel, to see what is on.

I went here for my girlfriends prom. It is a beautiful place and in the downstairs ballroom there is porch that has a beautiful view. The bathrooms were clean and the place was clean also. The employees treated us with respect and made us feel welcome.

The resort did a great job with my friends wedding. The rooms for the wedding were fairly priced, and the food for being served during the reception was phenomenal! Overall I believe that the guests of the wedding and myself were pleased with Bay Valley.

Although we were there just for one night it was truly a nice place. Very comforting and the Front desk was very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

This small room was relatively clean. But air conditioner leaked and the whole hotel was very dated. Parking lot and walks were treturous to walk on uneven and lots huge cracks and potholes.

Room was nice with new carpet except the shower head was broken. It dripped all night. The restaurant was dirty and bugs kept appearing on the bar. The young bartender had patrons get them as she was too scared.

Excellent hotel with a nicely kept room. Location right near the highway was convenient. Although the elevator was a bit unnerving as it shook and made some weird noises when going to the top floor.

Food was bland and Luke warm at best. Service was meh. Not worth the money.

This place is huge, like you could get lost huge. I was on a bowling team in high school and we always went there. Its beautiful, spacious, and elegant. While being a much older looking building it gives off a The Shining vibe which personally I like, but if I ever see twins there Im out!

Ive stayed here many times before and always had a great experience.. until this weekend. I dont know if its new owners or maybe most of the staff is on strike, but it was grungy, the food and service sucked, and my room didnt even have soap. Dont get me started on the roofing debris on my patio or the fact they didnt honor my AAA coupon. You absolutely lost a regular customer this weekend

If staying overnight, ask for a renovated room. Nice location. Golf course was in pretty good shape. Continental breakfast is included.

I was the maid of honor for my sisters wedding. They had several issues with the location and when they were checking on places they decided to pick this one because Lindsay lied and made them feel that they were her top priority. Lindsay, the event coordinator, told us the water damage on the ceiling of the reception room would be fixed long before the wedding day. The day before the wedding we all went to decorate and not only was the ceiling now caving in from water damage but in one area, which happened to be right above the head table for the bride and groom, the ceiling was leaking. Lindsay again told us no problem, it would absolutely be fixed by that night. Well the day of the wedding all of us bridesmaids got wet all through dinner, dances, toasts, etc because the ceiling was leaking and dripping all over us the entire time. I asked a waiter (the waiter was phenomenal and very acoommadating the entire night) to let Lindsay know and when he came back he said that she said verbatim well the ceiling is going to leak because thats the price you pay when you have the air conditioner on. If that was a given due to the air conditioner then she should of A) told us that from day 1 and B) moved the table so the whole bridal party (and my sisters wedding dress) wasnt getting dripped on the whole night! I would NEVER come back to this place for any reason and I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.
