Fun place to take the kids for a hike! There are 2 trails, baseball fields, playground, bathrooms, etc. It’s a low lying area so bring mosquito spray and be careful, trails are slick after a rain.

A very nice country park with a brand new concrete walking circuit, restrooms, a basketball court, 2 baseball diamonds, picnic tables, swings for small children, and a nature trail. It does flood easily, but its a very nice park. The Baton Rouge BREC Park System is really excellent.

Decent little park. A few fields to play on and a nice nature trail at the back. The parking lot could really use some attention though. There are so many low spots and holes it looks like someone went around and took gravel and dirt from random spots.

Manchac Park has been significantly renovated. Complete with new playground equipment, paved walking path, picnic tables, and restrooms. The restrooms have been clean so far. Some of our visits have found them to be locked though. The Oak trees provide wonderful shade. My thanks to BREC !

A lot better than I expected. This park used to look like a dump, an afterthought in the BREC plan. Now it looks like someone cares about the park. Very well done, BREC. Well done.

Great hike. However, the trails have many stumps which serve as ankle busters as they are from small trees. Difficult to see. Bring a bucket to pick muscadine.

Excellent BREC nature trail marked for enjoyable hiking along Bayou Manchac. Plenty of plant, birds and jungle-like forrest makes for an awesome Saturday or Sunday daytrip...all right here on Ascension and EBR parish line. Historical notes including pirate Jean Lafittes buried treasure somewhere in Bayou Manchac. Read a book on Bayou Manchac and U.S. and Louisiana history...you will enjoy it for sure and you might learn something new... ;)

I was happy to see that they have been creating some trail back in the woods. The trail I went on must have been roughly a mile long. A work in process. New bridges over creeks. Ideally, the trail needs to be graded so that stumps and stubble and other trip hazards are removed. Also, a bit muddy in spots. Great progress on a much needed park in the Prairieville area.

What a lovely place for a walk in the woods. There is also plenty of space to play catch, throw a frisbee or have lunch on the picnic tables... And yes, there are restrooms.

The kids area is new and clean. A new area to walk and sit especially with the back trail located in the back of the park.

A quiet park with few facilities compared to other BREC parks. A renovation of this park is in the works, though.
