This little museum will surprise and delight. Its more than it looks from the outside. Worth the trip. Informative, many artifacts and friendly staff. Worth the trip if youre in town or nearby. A hidden gem in Polk County. Plan to return soon. The research library is wonderful with a great knowledgeable staff. Not to mention the cost for entry is great, free.

What an Amazing place filled with an unimaginable amount of History. More than any amount of logical information I have seen anywhere in this County from Native Americans to History of new Residence to the County. The Library is full of Books and History. It was so amazing and Impressive I was overwhelmed. I really look forward to returning to look into more of the History available for the History of migration to the county associated with my family from Alabama. Its so fascinating to me. I enjoyed the walk through we took around the area. I just wished there were more African-American exhibits. I am pretty sure there were more African American contributions than were displayed. All and all it was a wonderful exhibit. It is worth a trip if youre in the area or plan on purposefully go in there. I love history always have.

This is one of the most fascinating things in all of Polk County

Ive been here a few times, there is always something I missed seeing from the time before.Interesting.

Spent several hours here going from room to room reading the history and exploring the rooms.

This is the place to go if you live in polk county and want to see and read about the history of this place. It is well put together with visual items not just books. Well worth the trip. You can even take a peek into the old courtrooms and all the fine wood used in those times to make the furnishings.

Great little hidden gem in Polk County. Free admission to the museum with a very nice and varied collection. Upstairs is a very knowledgeable staff able to assist anyone with genealogical research and historical Florida research. Would suggest a visit for any residents of the county or visitors from anywhere.

The friendly people, the architecture, Civil War and Revolutionary War Artillary displays. A room off to the side telling what life was like when the people from Bartow could swim in natural springs, was Fascinating! Loved it!

Worth taking the time to go inside, the collections are very well displayed. They have Fossils and Giant Shark teeth and children are able to touch and learn about the history. The Military *War* collections are great. And Beautiful Fashion collection...

This is a wonderful museum in downtown Bartow. Its free and great for the whole family. Nice kids center. Right across the street are some nice lunch places. Great way to spend a Saturday!!

Every time i go there i see so much more. The history, clothes, i am so glad i dont have to wear those hot clothes.

Will always remember the best place to check on family history. This historic building has been serving Polk for over 100 years. The place to go for family search and history.

Probably the best county museum I have seen. Rich with history and great pride. I couldnt be more impressed. Very well worth the time for visitors and locals. I spent 1 1/2 hours in there.

Lots of interesting history here, from several catagories.

Not a big place but lots of facts above out the area. Like the had a place called sand mountain where people skiiied.

We drive two hours just to visit. Great little museum that covers Publix, phosphate mining and fossils, wwi, ww2, and life in small town America.

I did not know that Bartow had so much history. They have Generations of all that went on and Bartow. They have exhibits, historical writings and explanations. There are also free magazines and maps and literature about different activities that they are involved in. Its worth a trip.

Amazing place to take the kids and the family. So much to learn

I went there for a field trip and it was very interesting it has first court houses there they show you what happens in there when it was first built I like it

Local history from bottom to top. Once a month, they have a lunch and learn session with a guest speaker that brings history to life.

Theres some cool stuff in here. It has several exhibits from various time periods in Polk County. Its supposedly haunted.
