Im a T4 paraplegic, using manual wheelchair. My girlfriend and daughter hiked to elephant rock and Ballance rock. We started on north side and I met them on south side. I stayed around the facilities and waters edge. Water is 4/5 can see clear to the bottom, (at least around the shore). I loved my views. I didnt go in buildings so Im not sure how accessible they are. From how the outside of buildings are I bet the inside is the same! Stars may have varied if I checked out the facilities or could have hiked to the top with them. But I do understand the hike is out of human hands.

One of my favorite State Parks and campground in Wisconsin. Located in beautiful southwest Wisconsin near Baraboo, Wisconsin. Great to visit in the fall when you can see the amazing display of changing leaves. Great lake for swimming and kayaking. Beautiful bluff trails to explore on either side on the lake. See the Devils Doorway rock formation. Very tranquil and peaceful, a should not miss stop when your in the area.

Super beautiful. You’ve just got to go in the Fall when the leaves are changing color. They definitely need more definitive signage. It was confusing which path led to balanced rock. Then, we almost missed the balanced rock for lack of signage once we got close. They have an amazing park. Costs $16 for parking for out of state plates as of Fall 2020.

This was the first time we went to this place but it was good. Tons of facilities of sitting benches, parking, very nice lake and water was clean as well. Also climbing on thlse rocks was super fun and something different then what you normally find at beach area. One negative thing was that bathrooms were not clean and they smelled really bad hence once star less. If this wasnt a corona time we would definitely gone into water and had much more fun than just doing picnic at the beach. Thanks

What a fantastic camping spot! This was my first time ever going camping and it has been a wonderful 2 days! I wish we could stay longer! So much to do here, you need an entire week to explore. I highly recommend camping at Devils Lake. Were at the upper Ice Age campground. Fabulous spot! Happy Birthday to me!

Incredible state park. If youve never been do yourself a favor and make a day of it. Theres options for kayaking or diving the lake, rock climbing and bouldering, or just hiking all the trails. A few tips: most of the big must see items are most easily accessible from the South shore. If youre planning on scaling the East side bring good shoes. The terrain is mostly rock and can get slippery with any moisture. And most importantly, make a day of it. Pack a lunch and plan to stay for a few hours. There are things you can do with less time, but you really want to appreciate the grandeur of what the park has to offer. So take your time and enjoy the views.

I can see why this is Wisconsin’s #1 State Park. It’s an absolute zoo with families, hikers, and those psycho free-climbers, all flocking to this beauteous gem. Trails have you scaling the mountainous terrain of the bluffs, delving into the forestry and valleys of Wisconsin. Hawks soar overhead the main lake as kayaks cross and float. Campers have great access to everything the park has to offer. A must-see if you’re passing though. Be careful of the trails, not for the faint of heart.

The hike around the lake via the east and west bluff trails is about 4 miles and is potentially the most scenic hike in Wisconsin. Its gorgeous. The trails up the bluffs can be quite steep and uneven. I would only recommend these trails for sure footed hikers.

Great views once you get a hang of the trails....wish they were better marked the further inland you go...saw a few people lose their way. The trails go pretty rugged but adds to the rugged charm of the park....beautiful carved rocks everywhere. The water is very clean and there is a beach on either end of the lake. A must see for anyone who loves nature and or appreciates great natural beauty.

Do you like nature? This is the place to be. Hiking trails and scenic overlooks are spectacular!! Met a lot of super nice people while we were there. We did a quick day trip to see the park and hike. Hoping to go camping here in the near future!! We drove through the campground and it looked like a nice place with a lot of the sites being pretty private. The tent camping looked remote and very private. The big RVs are in the open, but not too bad.

Ive been visiting since the 70s and its exactly the same today. SO BEAUTIFUL, clean and for me somewhat Spiritual. I caught more bass ( from shore) in one day than I have my entire life! My fiancé and I had a 20$ bet on whod catch more fish. He used lures. I used crawlers. Not only did I catch more but I also caught the biggest! ( and Im $20 richer) This is my favorite place on Earth. If youve never been here, I highly recommend visiting. You wont be disappointed.

Great place to hike. But they need to be more creative with parking or make more parking spaces available. Parking as od September 2020 is $13 for intra-state parking and about $16 for out-of-state license parking. Not worth it because parking is so limited and congested. We waited in line for about 30 minutes before we got to a cashier and then another 10 minutes or so before we found parking. Still, its more expensive than private parking, which is about $10 (cash-only).

We really enjoyed our visit to this park. You could spend a whole day here.Did the east bluff trail. Was very tiring but definitely not disappointing. Great views from different points in the trail. The view at the lake was also amazing, if you do wanna do trails, you can just chill by the shore. One thing that I did not like, which almost made me not visit was that I couldnt buy a day pass. I was just visiting Wisconsin for a week and had a rental car. I had to buy an annual pass to visit this place which I felt was quite unfair. They were very restrictive with the options to enter the park. And whats even worse is, the annual pass is tied to the number plate and not to the person. They really fail to think through the different options.

I was here on a long weekend on a pubic holidays. I must say this place was crazy crowded. However, we went hiking for 8 hrs to entire Delta lake. Hike is not difficult although some areas may be bit more difficult than others but most of the time it was fairly flat. The lake itself was over crowded. It was sunny day and people were just everywhere in the lake. I think I like that sometimes.Toilets were almost always occupied and dirty. However, it’s a great place for family. It’s a very well kept state park. I barely had time to go to the lake as most of the time I was hiking during the day. However, in the evening I walked up to the lake and it was absolutely serene. If I had chance to go here again I will probably no choose long weekend. It may not be my first choice for camping but it is still a great place. Camping area is like an open ground with few trees here and there so some of site did not have enough shade.

The scenery is very relaxing after a long work week.Advice: You must arrive by no later than 11:00AM on the weekends if you want to secure a parking spot by the lake and grilling areasThere is a fee to park in the lots. You have the option of paying for single day parking, or a yearly pass, which allows you to bypass the daily pass purchasing car line.

One of Wisconsins great state parks. Plenty of hiking trails, beaches, and beautiful scenery. My only negative would be that I wish the trails were marked a little bit better in some spots. Its the busiest state park, but also the big enough to be spread out. If youre visiting on a weekend from May to Oct, expect a lot of day trippers from south of the border, but the campgrounds are spacious, restrooms are on par with a rest stop, and other amenities are conveniently distributed. Watch out for tree roots. And FIBs. Both are abundant.

Devils Lake is wonderful and always a great time if you are looking for a nice hike. It also has some of the best rock climbing routes in Southern Wisconsin! I give it 3 stars because of the staff that work at Devils Lake. The rangers/wardens do not do a good job managing their staff. Their parking organization/communication is mismanaged and understaffed on the weekends. The staff do not have a way of communicating with one another so they are not always on the same page which leads to unhappy guests. They need a better parking system for busy days. If you go on the week days you should be fine but do not expect the place to yourself on a beautiful Saturday/Sunday. Expect parking chaos, mismanaged personnel directing you where to go, and bumper to bumper traffic while you try to find a parking spot.
