Overall, this place was awesome and I really enjoyed looking around at all of the tattoo artifacts they had while I waited. Service was also super friendly. However, my piercing experience here was not the best. My only complaint is that the woman piercing my conch decided to pierce it with a hoop. In retrospect, this was my fault for letting her do it because I knew that hoops are most likely to be problematic when attempting to heal a fresh piercing. I urged her to switch to a labret stud, but she insisted that the hoop would be okay and I didnt want to go against her protocol since she was the professional. After 8 months of having the piercing, it was incredibly painful all of the time and it had formed two big hypertrophic scars on either side of my ear. Even with diligent cleaning and aftercare (sea salt soaks twice a day), the ring was just moving way too much for it to fully heal. I even tried switching it to a labret about two months after it had been done just to get the ring out, but it was already so irritated and the bumps were enormous. I took it out and got it redone two weeks ago with a labret and it already feels like its healed (obviously I know its not yet healed). Maybe this was just a one-off, Im not sure.

I have so many bitchin tattoos thanks to this place. I have also been pierced here as well. 10/10 would recommend, clean, professional and over all fantastic. Theyve done all my tattoos and piercings since Ive lived in the area

Amazing customer service. I was in need of a new septum ring, and it was 30 minutes til close. My fiancé was in the city and was going to stop in for me. I called to check their current rules (COVID), and I spoke with two people who were extremely helpful. They talked me through searching their selection online, and I found exactly what I needed before he even got there. They had everything ready before he arrived. Thank you, again! Went here for my love piercings, it was recommended by the other tattoo shops in town as a good spot for piercings. They were super friendly, clean, and affordable. Also got in and out pretty quickly. Thanks yall!!

Late review, but got my belly pierced in 18’. Some guy pierced it and it was jus looking weird after some days, plus it was slightly crooked. I asked around about it on reddit and several ppl said it was pierced incorrectly. They said I had a certain type of navel so it should’ve been pierced a certain way. I wish I could remember specifically what was said, but I feel like him as a piercer, should have known that. Had to remove it, and now I’m stuck with scarring. Thanks a lot!!!!!

I had a scheduled consult today with Adam at the Baltimore Tattoo Museum. The staff were helpful, professional, friendly, and easy to talk to during my appointment. Adam did really beautiful work for me on my hip/thigh cover up tattoo. He made me feel very comfortable, as this was the first large piece that Ive had done. I would definitely recommend him, hes an amazing artist.

My piercer Ian was gentle, professional, friendly and very patient! He answered ALL of my questions & took his time piercing my nose. He didn’t rush the job nor did I feel rushed. I would most definitely go back again. Everyone there was courteous and welcoming!

The Baltimore Tattoo Museum is by far the best place to get a tattoo in the state of Maryland. The prices are very reasonable and the artist are truly fantastic. Ive gotten 3 tattoos so far and I plan to go back for more. Shout out to Dave for the Eyes on my back, Tory for putting my daughters name on my arm (in Old English letters-beautiful) and Luke for doing an outstanding job on my panther, which happen to be created by a world renowned tattoo artist. Got tattooed with Tory. Excellent guy and excellent line work. Barely hurt (I got it on my ribs) and healed with no complications. Unique, great place to go for piercings or tattoos, or just to look at the designs in the museum. I went for a piercing, and they were helpful, explained what was happening, and most importantly, made the process feel safe and careful yet efficient and as painless as possible. I also went with a friend who got a tattoo, and Dave the artist took the time to draw the design and made edits before putting ink to skin. He was friendly and clearly very talented. Waiting is inevitable, whether as a walk in or while your tattoo artist draws up the design. The staff there care about professionalism and cleanliness but also making sure you get the coolest tattoo or piercing you want! Definitely recommend.

It was great; couldnt take any pictures as it was one of their rules which you must respect. Overall unique place to visit, maybe you see something you like and get it tattooed as a souvenir. Overall I would recommend for anybody that is a fan of the art, very friendly people and very nice neighborhood.

Awesome place to get a Tatoo but I was there to get my eyebrows microbladed. This is the place to go and Ida Slaughter is who you want if you love perfect eyebrows. Make an appointment ahead of time as she gets busy!

So couple of things to know before you go. Its free. This will take you only about maybe 20 mins to look at all the little things in the cases which were plenty of various tat machines and maybe longer depending on how quick you read which they had some interesting facts and history. To call this a museum is a representation to lure people in just like myself then to only be let down but if you want to get a tat then go for it. So dont feed the metter more than a quarter. I would have pictures but they dont allow photos to be taken.

This place is dirty and unprofessional. They dont clean any of their stuff. My girlfriend got her ear pierced here and it was immediately infected. She called them and asked about it, they said it was normal. She ended up going to the doctor for antibiotic and had to remove the piercing. You would think this place would at least give her a refund, but they did not. Do not go here.

Came in as a walk-in on a Saturday afternoon, with a general idea of what I wanted. Based on only my vague description and a couple Googled pics of the mountain range I was thinking of, Dave had completed an original drawing within a few minutes. Place was clean, no reused or cleaned needles just new ones. Front counter folks were nice, too. Im super happy with the tattoo and the experience.

Great staff, talented artists, and its literally a tattoo museum too. If youre a history buff and find yourself in the area, stop in.

Loved observing the displays they had and ended up getting a tattoo via walk-in. the process was fine but the tattooers procedure was somewhat unsanitary and did a terrible job explaining after care. other places even give out kits with instructions and ointment. they had none of that. the bandage was taped with scotch tape which he ran out of so my bandage fell off mere yards away from the shop. ended up with a scab that made things take longer to heal. if you are getting a tattoo from this place, make sure you ask about after care and if it doesnt sound right, just observe the displays keep it moving and find somewhere else to get tattooed.

Went here to get my eyebrows microbladed with Ida - highly impressed with her knowledge on and technique and appreciate the time she spent educating me on what to expect, after care, etc. Found the environment to be hygienic and comfortable and quite happy with my new brows!

My cousin took me to this shop to get my tragus pierced. I was pleasantly surprised that the staff was so courteous, helpful, friendly and personable. I felt welcomed and completely comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. Im so used to tattoo shows where the people are rude and could care less if you schedule an appointment or not. The process was smooth. They saw me 5-10 minutes after I walked in the shop. I really wish I could remember the guys name that pierced me but this was all the way back in February 2014. The piercing itself didnt hurt, it just felt like a lot of pressure. The piercer was really good about calming my nerves and making me feel comfortable. Thats so important in this industry because tattoos and piercings in general are painful, lets be honest. The shop itself is pretty big and clean. They display all their work so nicely. Im definitely returning even though I dont live in the area.

Ive gotten three tattoos here and I love all of them - the artists are all so professional and each tattoo is completed in a sanitary environment. Love how each of them will work closely with you to get you what YOU want!

If your going to be going to this for the sole purpose of the museum and do not have ink, you maybe disappointed. Ive been here twice to get ink specifically with tats for tails event. I have gotten work done by Chris Keaton both times. He made sure I was comfortable and worked with me to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. Offered solid advice and clean, Lines. The ankle peice he was slow and progressed to the worst parts and made sure I was comfortable going into the more painful components. Cant comment about the piercing as I have not used those services. Tats for tails is a solid event every year that requires planning in order to make sure that you get in with a number, but well organized and smoothly run. Fun unexpected classic and traditional flash on walls.

What a great place to spend a few hours! You could literally spend days here and still not see all they have. The staff is AMAZING!!!!!

I went to get my septum re-pierced, as he was placing it I told him it should be higher, I wanted it in the same place... he said he had it over the scar tissue, we’ll definitely not in the same place. Not only is it much lower down, it’s crooked, more to the front on one side. So I called in and they told me to come back in and they’ll take it out and refund me. So not only did I have to sit through getting it pierced now I have to drive another hour to sit and get it taken out all because their piercer f***ed up. I understand needing me to come back in, but I honestly don’t want them near my nose again so I may just cut my losses and remove it myself so I don’t have to drive all the way back into the city. I’m pretty livid though, and I can’t believe they didn’t say anything after it was pierced as it’s very obvious

I had a very positive experience here. I called ahead to schedule a consultation to get a new tattoo, Adam Jeffrey started drawing it right away and scheduled a time for me to come in the following Saturday. I came in, and was told by someone else that they dont actually schedule appointments on Saturdays, so I had to reschedule again to come in the following Wednesday.So once all that was squared away, Adam had everything set up and ready to go for my appointment. I basically just walked right in and got straight on the table. Adam was very friendly, personable, and easy to talk to, and he did a quick and fantastic job. I dont see a single flaw in my tattoo (a foot/ankle piece) and it took him under an hour to finish the outline and shading. Everything was very clean, everyone was very kind, and I had a very good experience. I will definitely come back again.

I moved to PA, but when I lived in Canton, i always had myTats done here by Adam or Dave.I have no complaints about their tats work.. In fact, Ive recommended them to many people up here in PA, and in Maryland.Three of my friends got their tats done here , and they were very pleased with the beautiful art work, and the original designs that they helped us out with.Adam has done 3 of my tats, and also did repair work on two of them that I was stupid enough to go elsewhere to have gotten originally.Adam is an amazing artist, and for some unknown reason, I feel practically no pain when he works on me, and hes great at making you feel comfortable, and being a huge music person myself, I really enjoy the music he plays while hes working on me.BUT, I have a huge complaint about the two piercings I had done thereThe first was about 6 years ago, and I brought my mother with me, because she wanted to get her upper ear pierced to celebrate her 75th birthday.Two days after my ear piercing done there, the ring fell out, in spite of the fact that I was being extremely careful to avoid that area when I was showering, etc.I went back to them, and they replaced the earring, BUT changed me again for the earring, even though the person replacing it had told me that the earring wasnt closed completely, which was the cause of it falling out.Because Id been a long time customer there for other things, I paid, smiled and politely left, AND even returned to have two more tats done, one by Dave, and the other by Adam who are both fantastic tat artists, BTW!Heres the recent big problem which happened on September 29th, 2017 which is the reason I will NOT be returning to them now, for ANY future work.Once again- to celebrate my mothers birthday-her 82nd one- I drove back down there from Pennsylvania - where I now live-and we both wanted to get our noses pierced with studs.We both went into the room, and I decided to get mine pierced first, before my mother had hers done, and it didnt go well at all.The piercer ( whos name I will not mention, out of respect, and professionalism), was having a difficult time, and in fact he was making some comments, and apologies to me while he did my piercing. I was cool with it at the time, and because several years ago, I used to pierce my friends ears, and Im a very patient person, I thought nothing of it at the time, and told him no problem, even though it took him several minutes, and was a little more painful than any of my other piercings.Next up was my mother, but she had no problems while he pierced her nose, and it took him half the time to do hers as he took doing mine.Anyway, we paid about $50 for each piercing, then I gave the piercer $30 cash- $15 for each of us( then later found out that my mother had also given him a cash tip, not knowing id already tipped him $30- Hey, thats a great tip, and, just for the record I always give very generous tips)Ok, well this is a pretty lengthy comment, so Ill get to the problem now.I followed all the post piercing cleaning instructions etc, but the next morning while CAREFULLY washing my face , the nose stud -which he had problems putting in- fell out ( just like the ear piecing a few years prior).I had to quickly find a piercing place up here in PA to put the stud back in very soon that day.When I went to a tat place up here in York which had been recommended to me after the stud fell out, the very cool piercer there told me that the angle the tat museum piercer put in my stud, was not done at an angle that it should have been, and she needed to re do my piercing at a better, most commonly done angle and area.She redid the piercing, took half the time as the first piercer did, AND ONLY charged me $10 for a piercing that the tat museum charged us $50 a piece for, so obviously she wasnt trying to rip me off! When I drove back down to ask for a refund for the botched piercing, the rude guy working there said no way, and that his piercer had done more piercings than anyone in PA!!!!Saw comment too.

Its just a tattoo parlor with a room of stupid tattoo prints aimed at attracting tourists and drumming up business. Not worth a visit unless youre actually looking for a tattoo.

This was my first piercing.I have heard good things and bad things about this place. For me everything was a horrible experience.The place is clean but a museum, it is not.Customer Service is very lacking and judgmental eyes stare on you as soon as you walk in the door. I wanted to get two piercings. A PA and a septum. They all wanted to pass me off after I asked more information about this. Finally they left me with someone who was just as cold and passive as everyone at the desk.I later found out it was the co-owner.He was preparing for me and I signed the standard release to which they immediately brought me a bill. I told them nothing had been done and I would sign after the fact but they refused. I wasnt sure if this was the norm so I signed anyways.I said I would be sizing up and wanted to start with a larger ring only for them to again scoff and say that isnt how we do things around here. In my mind I was assuming that this is the norm.Getting into the room, I saw rings had already been chosen for me without my consent. There was no reassuring, no calmness, just sit here and breathe.No warning came from the PA but the septum he said to breathe out properly.After it was all over the septum was crooked and had to be fixed.The PA was giving me the most trouble and I found out that the standard size they do is the lowest safest recommended size. Besides the fact that when I got hard it hurt a lot. I asked if they had bigger diameter and they said no and said they usually do not have a problem.Sadly people are different sizes but to them they do not care.After all was said and done I refuse to go back there even to have the ring changed once a larger diameter comes in.This may sound like a rant but do NOT go there for any piercing unless you know everything. For new people, avoid.

So usually I never write reviews just will star rate and keep it moving but my experience here was GREAT joe did a cover up for me on my ankle and its amazing.. he was patient with me while I needed a break and even tho I squirmed a few times my lines are super clean..Overal its a perfect tatoo espically for it being a cover up. Very friendly people who seem to love wbat they do. Will deff be back for more tatoos
