It is a small but beautiful park. There is a butterfly garden there but we did not get a chance to see that . There is also a greenhouse but due to covid-19 we did not go inside. The walking trails are beautiful. It is simply a beautiful, peaceful, serene place.

Such a treasure right in our backyard! We had A really nice time walking around the gardens, looking at butterflies in the butterfly house, and discovering the incredible variety of plants in the greenhouse. It is so well taken care of, the plants are very interesting and the admission fee is exceptionally inexpensive. Five stars 100% highly recommend this fabulous place for an afternoon of relaxation and Beauty.

Sadly, butterfly house is ruined, but still lots of herbs and flowers to see. Including a path to walk in lots of shade. A $2 fee to walk inside though. I declined. I wouldve gladly donated, $5. But the indoors is not very big. A fee? Hmmmm.

The butterfly house is truly amazing! We spent about 35 minutes inside and our 11 year old grandson was amazed at the number and variety of butterflies fluttering around. He was able to get a couple of them to land on his arm. We love this place.

I go a lot. The plants and flowers are always so beautiful. Its a nice way to interrupt myself from staring at my phone all day. There are so many exotic plants and flowers inside. I like that theres something new blooming a lot of the time. The outdoor flowers have a theme and from what Ive seen it changes from time to time. I like that as it keeps it new, with as often as I go.

Even in the cold weather I appreciate the beauty.Echo was sweetly sleeping on his perch.Enjoyed the brisk walk outside to admire my favorite Sweet Annie bush that had been cut down for the winter.I cant wait for warmer weather so that i can come back. The gentleman out in the garden was very nice. He answered my question even though I thought it was silly! Thanks again!

My dogs absolutely love Miller Nature Center. A lot of people take their dogs to walk here and their children to play. Its a chill park with so many amenities. The walking path is gorgeous, well kept, and safe. My dog enjoys the fountain but sometimes it can be difficult to keep him away from it. Ha! Theres even this floral room where the displays change per season it seems. Just a beautiful park. I really enjoy it here.

Its a beautifully tended patch of flowers, exotic plants and butterflies, hard by downtown Avon, yet somehow away from it all. A lovely hours diversion in a woodsy setting, where butterflies are incubated and orchids grow in profusion. A Lorain Metroparks gem, with a dining room suitable for small-group excursions. Well worth checking out, over and over!

I love this little Park one of Lorain Countys best kept secrets. Its never crowded. Beautiful and well-manicured gardens are gorgeous and the Butterfly House is a must-see! Be sure to call first if the Butterfly House is what youre interested in because they do release them. A great little cafe and free live music on Thursdays on the patio . FYI it can get quite crowded on that night! Small parking lot plan ahead and carpool.

Very nice little park that is a hedge against rampant development of this area. Nice wide gravel trails along a stream and through new growth woods. Nice visitor center which boasts a cafe and tropical greenhouse (admission charge). Friendly staff. There is also a free butterfly house open in warmer months. Paved, free parking lot just off of main road. Revisited this August when the butterfly house was open and the lovely gardens were in flower. Quite lovely. Great place to take small children.

You dont see this kind of stuff everywhere, its quite unique and very serene. Its a great place to go and relax. Maybe sip at a tasty drink and chat on their lovely patio overlooking the scenic gardens and ponds. The Butterfly House is a dream. Its filled with many different beautiful and interesting types of butterflies, that flutter about lazily in the air all around you. Then theres the amazing and wonder-filled arbortorium. Here, in this giant glass building youll find exotic plants and trees, the likes of which youve never dreamed to be possible. Living flora that can only be found growing naturally, in far-off and mysterious places that you will probably never visit in your life time. The Rose and Herb gardens are awesome as well. Both made to form circle shaped gardens, they sit at either end of the Preserves. There are also walking trails through the adjoining woodlands.

I bought my $10 year-long pass, and Im going to do it again. It gets you free admittance to the conservatory, which is only $2 for non-members. They always have fun new themes and different flowers on display with information about nearly every one of their plants. Its great year round summer, spring, fall, and especially in the winter and fall when the days are getting shorter and green things in warm spaces are going away. Its a great pick-me-up for those who love plants and those with Seasonal Affective Disorder. Im super excited about their new addition Echo the Parrot --and he likes me too, (a little too much -- I got in trouble because he, of his own volition, climbed onto me). I love that little guy. I can get him to talk for me, say, Hi, say his name, and sing a little Hokey Pokey for me. He requires a lot of singing, talking and patience and, like the rest of us, he can have moody days, but he seems to like to have visitors sometimes.I love their outdoor/indoor bonsai section (they have both). Its a great, educational place to take field trips. Find out when their next display is complete and bring a group. Great for kids AND adults. Groups of nearly any age. There is more, so much more to this place, and I havent even taken advantage of their walking trails and nature paths yet. Park a bike and walk or take your bike, dog, kid in a stroller, elderly parent or friend in a wheelchair... explore the whole place rain or shine, snow or warmth. They even have a cafe for those looking for a nibble after a stroll. Check cafe hours, though. Theyre not open all of the time.
