Easy to find and parking was available. Trail maps are available at the parking lot. Main trail into the preserve was marked well. We followed it but could not find any trails once in the preserve. We walked about 2 miles and never found any trails on the map. We did find one that was not on the map. The area was nice and quiet and great for walking, just couldnt find the trails

One of Highlands County better kept secrets. That might be to its benefit. It may equal but perhaps exceeds Hammock State Park in diversity available to the hiker. Parking Lot: North and its designated Trails and South and its diverse Unmarked and Unknown maintenance trails. North and the Marked??? trails require after the first Loop the Hiker keep their Wits about them because entering a Hardwood Hammock you can find yourself at a loss where to exit with original Trail Marking being decades old. Off Road Biking has flourished and it appears they have marked many new trails that are not on the County Trail System which only adds to the enjoyment of the area. The County has recently added signs Alligators! Remember, if there is water in Florida there may be alligators and as in any preserve other native or not so native animals.Kudos to County Staff for their efforts!Leave Only Footprints

Outstanding. Interesting and varied trail network for both walking and biking. Large variety of plant life and several water features. Many birds.

Great fun for the family, as long as you like fishing and hiking. Watch out for snakes, but that will be just about anywhere in Florida. There are lily pads in the water, so bring appropriate fishing rigging. Its a little bit of a walk, so proper foot wear is recommended, and definitely bring bug repellent, lest you be carried away by mosquitoes

Nice trails. Take a map at the entrance in case you get lost like I did at first. And watch out for Rattle Snakes!!

Went here with my 6 year old son. Trails are marked very well. The trails them self’s are in good shape. There are some tree roots in spots, so watch your step, (not that bad.) We did see a alligator about 8 feet long, so keep your pets on a leash. A few places to fish. As a avid hicker. Take some bug spray. I really enjoyed the day. Would highly recommend.

Loved Sun N Lakes, they have trails to walk on, good lakes for fishing, and woodland for miles.I met the love of my life here, its she lived back in 2013. I miss her so much! Our anniversary was Jan 25th, a date I will NEVER forget. I would recommend anyone to pay a visit here or to live. Its worth it! Very peaceful and quiet environment.
