As most club owners and card players can attest, this is the gold standard in the poker market. They just continually jump through hoops for the industry and provide a quality gaming experience. Personally, Ill play a tournament at the Austin facility every once in awhile, but really just go to unwind. I do make trips to Dallas and stopped by at that location which seems to be about to open, and the space looks even bigger and nicer than Austin. Good luck at the new location.

Multiple employees testing positive for Covid and management is trying to hide it!!! They are NOT following bare minimum safety precautions and are ignoring employee worries and concerns, they claim to be sanitizing appropriately and following Covid guidelines but employees have all confirmed that is a lie. Do not trust this business, do not trust the owners. If you go here, you will most likely catch the virus due to their poor management and shady actions.Never give this place your money, shut them down.

Play here regularly. 1/2 & 1/3 NLH tables going every day with good action on the tables. Tournaments going a couple nights a week also. Dealer choice table goes 3 or so nights a week, PLO and Big O occasionally if thats your game too. Room is nice, not the bingo hall feel of some others around the city. Professional staff and games.

Ive been here 3 times and really enjoyed it - despite slightly losing each time! As a more recreational player Ive never felt uncomfortable with the games or players, but had a great laugh every time! Great staff, player pools, and atmosphere.

Ok place to play... If you are used to online... Expect no grace as you will be looked down on... No matter how much experience you have there... Say nothing and play... Managing physical chips takes some adjustment so let them think you are a complete fish... Lots of egos in the room... Many clicks... Wednesdays 2000 Free Roll will cost $20, and if you want anything resembling a stack that can stand with $150 or more if running bad. Fun to play live... But there are plenty of online sites where $6.00 gets you into a 2.5K guarantee... Playing for fun and physical social interaction in North Austin/Cedar Park/Leander - good place... Looking for ROI or a bar Poker Club... Or stick to online. I will play again, but just for fun and the experience...

I play poker as a fun hobby.I played at the original Texas Card House which has more of a back of the bar poker home game. This new one at the North location has a casino vibe. Friendly, fast, professional dealer keep the action friendly and flowing. The staff is quick, efficient and actually dress up nice to keep up the vibe of the place. They have chip for play and tip chips, dont forget to get tip chips to take care of the dealers.

Ive been here a handful of times. Its good overall. The action is good. A big cost up front but if you stay and play a while youll likely offset the cost because they do not charge rake. They charge an hourly fee. Most of the dealers are ok, but a few are slow and do not understand the games very well. The staff is decent overall. Also its BYOB, so thats nice.

I have been in the casino business for 10 yrs. and I have to say that the Texas Card House is true Vegas experience right here in the little city of Austin. Management ensures rules are followed and enforced, dealers are trained to a standard well above what one would expect, and the players are fantastic (lots of action and very few issues). If you are a local or visiting from out of town and need to get your poker fix like I did, I would definitely recommend checking out the Texas Card House.

Went there on a Wednesday night, and they had few tables running 1-2 NHL cash games. First time at this place and the rules are a bit different compared to casinos. They dont take a rake (since that isnt legal) they have a per hour charge. You can tip the dealers but need to get separate tip chips. The game was good and all the players were good too. They seem to have a lot of regulars and good crowd. There was a cop sitting inside and one patrolling outside the venue. Not sure if this was due to past incident but I guess its for security reasons.

This was my first time. The place is easy to find and since its in a shopping center there is plenty of parking. The first thing I noticed was the abundance of security. There were three armed guards near the front and I believe I also saw an off duty police officer patrolling the parking lot. Cant get much safer than that. Its nicely appointed, they did a good job on the tenant improvements, and it was just professional all the way around. Even clean bathroom.Plenty of options of games to choose from.Id recommend this for any poker enthusiast looking for a safe, clean, and fair place to play. One last thing...for what its worth, when I look at reviews from others..whether positive or negative...I check to see their review history.1. Do they only have 1 review? The chance of a legit person creating an account and just making 1 review seems unlikely. Did they really have that bad an experience and then never went anywhere else? Unlikely. Its usually haters.2. Do they always seem to write negative reviews?

Have been 3 times. Tables, chips, and chairs are all fine. Dealers are similar to what youd see in Vegas. Plenty of action. People have all been friendly and I appreciate the security inside and out.My main issue with TCH is that I feel like Im being nickled and dimed. I can deal with the $10/ hour access charge but a $4 check in fee for a check in that takes about 20 seconds seems unnecessary. I also noticed that they recently added a tipping format for dealers, cage, etc. A dealer confirmed that theyd be getting paid less as a result. Id expect some of those savings to be passed back to the players (who will now be making up the gap with tips)... no such luck.I do get the concept of supply and demand location-wise. All in all, its not an awful deal (especially if you are playing bigger games), I just feel like its a bit steep for a recreational 1/2 player.

I wouldnt go to the establishment. Apparently the more you spend the more you move up in line. When you sign up for a membership just remember that anyone who camps out there and enters silver status automatically superceeds you. So you will wait based on how much money you spend there. Sham!

While outside next to Discount Tire I saw some armed security guys standing around outside and spitting on the sidewalk. No matter how you try to dress up the place to look like it is some Supercuts it seems like like a bookie shop to me. I guess we just have open gambling in this state now? Sickening.

The dealers are the worst they do not know the winning hands multiple times hands were called out by players. Alot of their repeating customers are the worst card players ever calling out of turn and going all in every other hand. I would rather save money and make the trip to other casinos that have professional dealers that can call hands and keep the table fair and honest if a player wins everyone should be able to identify how and with what he/she won. I would stay away from this place its trashy and bunch of loud late night drunks make it in here.

I have been a member at TCH for two months and played over 100 hours there. I highly recommend this place for poker-fans in Austin for the following reasons:1. It is very cheap (no rake no tip).Since TCH is technically a club rather than a casino, they charge members with a flat $10/hr fee. Also, you CANNOT tip the dealer according to the club rules. Compared to the standard 10%, $5 max casino rake, the cost is lower by a significant margin. Thus, if you win more than two $50 pots in an hour (generally true for most players in most variants of the game), your cost is lower than playing at almost any casino.2. Professional dealersThe dealers at TCH are well-trained. Although some of them are more skillful than others, they are all professional and friendly to the players. The games are run smoothly. In addition, the receptionist and the cage managers are also nice and friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.3. Great player poolThe players at TCH are diverse and friendly, with different level of skills just like in most casinos. It is a great place to meet some new friends and have some fun. Here is some additional information that may be helpful.1. The average waiting time I experienced is around 10 mins, with the longest being approximately 45 mins. I usually get there pretty early.2. They have a betting-line on each table, and any chip crossing that line stays in the pot. So be careful about that.3. They sell soft drink and snack in the machine and offer free coffee and cold water. You can order food and have it delivered to the club. There is a pretty good Asian food restaurant, A+A, in a few hundred feet.4. They have billiards, and there are TVs above each table.5. They have a bad beat prize (7777x and above).Suggestions:1. Charger outlets at the table for phones and tablets.2. Hot water and tea.3. Add some promotions: e.g. hourly best hand prize, splash pot, Aces cracked, etc.4. Reward programs, membership card perhaps?
