Very friendly owner and store associates. Went in completely clueless looking for a gift. The owner helped us out a lot and gave us some history on the tribes we wanted the gift to be from. This place is huge! If you want anything Native American Turquoise Trading Post is the place to go. Also, I noticed cat bowls in the store and am sad that I didn’t get to meet him/her! Maybe next time! Thank you again.

If you ever wondered about native American jewelry, art, culture and vibes, this is the place to be! Very friendly staff, which all love native American culture and some that have a background or have native blood in them. For the authentic, hand crafted and carefully designed jewelry they have, Id say its priced correctly. Although I wish some would be a little less. Either way, you will never be disappointed in your purchase.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff! By far the largest selection of native jewelry Ive seen outside of Santa Fe. I purchased a pendant/pin piece that the owner removed the pin part for me to wear as only a pendant. It was done smoothly and quickly. Had no issues whatsoever and was told if I changed my mind they would gladly exchange. Cant wait to go back!

One of the few true remaining old Austin shops. Ive been going here since I was a child when it was nextdoor to Petes flat top shop - so about 25 years. You get a real sense of something special when you walk in here.If you like native american culture, art or decoration, you will love it. Its like a museum that you can buy from. Makes for outstanding decorative pieces in your house, or unique gifts for people that cant be found anywhere else.

If i could give a 0 review i would. My boyfriend took me in here to buy me a necklace pendant with turquoise as we were passing through the area. They close at 6 but when we walked in before 5:20 the owner was hesitant to let us in. He chose to let us in after asking what it was we were looking for and telling us we could look quickly. We spent as little time as possible picking a piece from the beautiful selection. Some of the necklace pendants double as broaches but the owner assured us he could remove the pin. After selecting a gorgeous hummingbird pendant and handing over our money i said that i would never wear it as a broach and asked if he could remove the pin as he had suggested. He took the pendant away and returned with it in a box and bag - we paid and left. As we walked out of the store i opened the jewelry box to add the pendant to my necklace and found the pin was still on it. My boyfriend went back in to ask him again to remove it while i went to wait in the car. When my boyfriend returned to the car and handed me the pendant i found that the owner had ground off the top of the hummingbirds wing which had caused the stone on that part of the pendant to fall out (presumably somewhere in the store) and left an extremely sharp and mangled edge of open metal. I usually gives the benefit of the doubt but i cannot believe he did not notice his mistake, especially considering he hasnt removed the pin in the first place after offering to do it. The pendant is NOT wearable. We ran right back to the store but the owner had already locked up and did not respond to us knocking. It hadnt been longer than two minutes since we walked out. There are still10 minutes until their closing time and i am already back at our accommodations for the night as i type this. I regret that he paid with cash or we would be on the line to the credit card company to stop payment. What a complete shame and disappointment.

Seriously, I cant even believe someone was so rude to me in a retail store. WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER... My sweet boyfriend took me here to look for presents for myself and my family. We were THE ONLY CUSTOMERS in the store, and are very polite, well dressed individuals (no reason to be rude to us). The store had amazing merchandise and we were considering a few items to purchase. My boyfriend said several times to the owner that he loved the items in the store as we were very joyfully looking around saying nice things out loud about the art and gift items in the Native American Themed store. We saved the jewelry section for last, because it was kind of overwhelming and we wanted to look at that very closely after enjoying all the other items in the store. When my boyfriend asked the older man (who is the owner of the store) to get an idea of how much the bracelets were - the owner was extremely rude and said in a gruff tone that was very off putting, from $40-$900 - then I asked him what tribe of Native American Jewelry one piece was and he was also extremely nasty to me and I started to feel very VERY uncomfortable. Then my boyfriend asked to see a ring and the man basically told us to come back another day because he had too many rings there. We were very puzzled by his response to which he basically said he had better things to do than show us the rings. He was VERY nasty. Now, I have to say:#1- I dont know if it was just closing time or whatever - but after having worked for over 15 years in customer service and retail, I know that he did not handle that properly AT ALL. You never treat customers rudely, under any circumstances. Its part of doing business! AND we are the nicest couple you will ever meet, so clearly the man has major issues with communicating with human beings. All he had to say very nicely was - is there something I can help you with today - we are closing in five minutes or something like that. We would have respectfully thanked him and come back of our own accord another time - but now WE WILL NEVER SPEND OUR MONEY IN THAT STORE. EVER. and we both have HUGE social media followings of over 5,000 people and we will tell them about what we experienced.#2- A gift store is not a place to get something you truly need like food. Its a luxury item and the business itself thrives ONLY on personal relationships. Those relationships translate to sales and repeat business that keeps a business running. Ruining relationships with customers ruins your business. This man should sell his business to someone who likes treating people well OR NEVER BE THE ONE RUNNING THE STORE. If you cant be a nice person, you shouldnt be in a business based on people.#3 - ITS A NATIVE AMERICAN STORE - the culture is spiritual. Native Americans are kind people. Everything sold there is something from an artisan. The mans attitude is not in alignment with his business... and now I have a really bad taste in my mouth when I pass that place. Its just not cool to be rude to people. EVER.

This place has cool merchandise, but terrible customer service after they have your money.Owner has very shady business practices, refuses returns even when they knowingly sold you damaged goods as new. I had to threaten a credit card chargeback for them to even work with me, at which point they banned me from the store. I have have bought many items from these folks too, sad that the get to loose out over their own pride. They pay yelp to obscure negative reviews, rather than offering any sort of apology. Thats how yelp makes their money in case you were unaware. I would assume they have their friends post positive reviews as well, though thats hard to prove.Very very shady folks.
