The best time to visit is in November when the crowds are gone and parking is ample. The salmon will be spawning right by the Geyser. This place is a must for nature lovers. For those who love adventure, try riding your bike there. The roads leading to the park are not busy and the elevation is modest. It is about a 2 hour bike ride from Renton

Really nice large park with river access and easy walking trails through the woods. Plenty of picnic areas and a small playground for kids too. Does require a Washington state parks pass (discover pass) which can be purchased from a machine at the park entrance. Day use only. The geysers are a bit less than impressive but they are interesting, so if you keep your expectations low about what you imagine a flaming geyser to be, you will enjoy this park.During the summer its a favorite spot among locals for innertubing on the river, in the fall its a great spot for mushroom lovers.

Nice park, free with Discovery Pass otherwise $21. Lots of parking, but fills up quick on hot summer days! Nice place to float the Green River, with parking lots at both ends of the park. There is NO flaming geyser anymore, but a short hike takes you up where you can see salt water bubbling up out of the ground.

This is located right on Green River. It has basic picnic tables and some grassy areas for families to hangout and play. The main draw from what I see is playing in the water. Lots of families playing on the river banks. This our second time floating down the river and it is very fun. Park at the furthest parking lot and walk up the trail to get the longest ride. Bring some nice tubes for floating, we got ours on Amazon. They were durable enough for the occasional rocks we bumped into during the small rapids we encountered. Nothing to worry about, its an easy ride. If you want to avoid the walk back to the car bring a second car and park one at the first parking area and drive everyone to the top.

Flaming Geyser SP is an amazing get away. I watched a Blue Heron catch a fish & then fly away. There’s lots of open space with several picnic tables & river access points. Fly fishing, rafting, walking the trails and a designated space for radio controlled planes or drones can all be done here. Restrooms were available & portable toilets too. It is very family friendly.

Since the flame is no longer active, the parks main attractions are the drop off points for your floating devices. Unless you get there super early to land a picnic table, be youre going to be stuck fighting for some shaded spot with 10,000 other families. We were lucky enough to get there around 10 am. Soon after, all hell broke lose as the park met is capacity, and people swarmed around the entrance trying to land some street parking.I felt bad for the only park employee navigating traffic outside the park. One single employee for the entire park! That was ridiculous! Oh yeah, it was also 92 degrees and expected to reach .The trails and wooded areas were pleasant as it was actually quiet and peaceful. I would return, just not on a day like this.

No true flaming geyser but beautiful views of an open landscape, river-front walks, and a pair of belted kingfishers playing in among the cattails made it worth the trip.

This was a great trip. It’s not as packed as years previous due to covid and no camping. They also filled in the swimming hole and you can walk all the way across to the rock ledge which my younger kids loved. It was sad to see how people treated the flaming geyser. They have burnt logs in there and big boulders around it. The flame was out. The park was well maintained.

Medium sized trail park compared to other larger parks like My. Rainier and Federation Park. Be sure to wear hiking shoes and not tennis shoes. Very slippery put here with water and rain. No the flaming geyser isnt a flame any longer but you can still visit the site. Also cool to see Bubbling Geyser and how the natural chemicals react with the streams.

Something like 80% pure Methane from a capped 3000 or so deep oil and gas well flows gently through a small perforation in the cap. Bring your lighter. The flame for us was fleeting, and about 6 to 8 inches in length. The real draw of this park is its prime location on the Green River. An easy hike upstream with a raft of some sort and you can safely float from beach to beach by June. Rapids downstream arent for the uninitiated though, so wear a pfd and/or pull out before it gets too turbulent.

My family has lived on the green river for over 24 years about 7 minute drive to the park and about an hour and a half float to get out at my house. We drove in with 2 cars both with discovery passes. When we reached my house I drove back to the park to pick up the 2 cars we left. When driving up to the toll booth it was a younger guy who was extremely rude from the beginning. I’m not sure if he was having a bad day but I have never been treated so terribly by park staff. The staff is usually amazing and kind! I nicely explained that I was dropping off these 2 people at there cars, I was not staying in the park or even getting out of my car. He rudely said if we can’t afford the fee to get into the park then we need to leave. We were so confused, both the people with me ended having to get out of my car at the toll booth and walk all the way to their cars. This had nothing to do with “affording” the park fees. We have never had a problem before when going to pick up our cars, the staff is usually very understanding. We have supported this park many years and to be treated like that was embarrassing. The park is very beautiful, it always has been. I walk the trails at least once a week with my dog even during winter time when nobody else is in the park. It’s really sad that we were treated so poorly.

COME HERE!!! this is an amazing place to go to, for peace and nature! You can lay down on the grass, walk around the park, float on the river on some pool floats, and you can also swim in the water w/o pool floats. But beware, there is a strong current so if you are not good at swimming, then please do not swim without a float. It is also very beautiful here, I try to come here every week. ️️

First time floating down the river and we had a blast! We parked one vehicle at Whitney Bridge and it does not cost anything but the parking area is small. However there is plenty of room along the road. There is a big white barn looking house for a marker as to when to get off. Then we drove to Flaming Geyser, there you have to pay $10 to park and they do not want people parking on the grass. But you drive to the right and go as far as you can go, at the end there is a dumpster and a Lil turn around. There were a lot of people there but there is plenty of parking. Make sure to put your slip up on your dash so the Ranger dont ticket you. But after I think about 4 or 5pm the person in the booth leaves, then you dont have to pay to get in. After you park at the end then get your stuff together and its a short walk to the river. Be sure to bring Lil kayak paddles or something cuz it helps to be able to push off the rocks once in awhile or to get thru the slower parts. There are a few places you can stop along the way to let kids swim or to pick berries. Some spots were pretty low and I got a few bruises from hitting the rocks. My sons tube was tied to me so that was a Lil more difficult but still we had so much fun! It took us about 2 hours to get to Whitney Bridge and we stopped along the way so my son could swim. At one of the spots we stopped at, there is a waterfall and rope swing but also be careful cuz drop offs too. The river isnt that fast but just fast enough for our family being first timers.

Beautiful area for a picnic and a great place for birding! Saw a Black Headed Grosbeak and 75% sure a Western Tanager lol. The actual Flaming Geyser is rather underwhelming, it says there is methane gas coming from it but from the naked eye it just looks like a funny hole in the ground. The less advertised Bubbling Geyser(pictured) we found more interesting as you can see the Methane mixing with calcium making the water an interesting color. Very cool place to check out when in the area!

Flaming Geyser is a beautiful park in Auburn Wa. There are plenty of hiking trails some a bit challenging others easy, cut outs along trails offer beautiful views of the river and creeks, there are several large covered picknic areas with BBQ pits which are first come first serve unless already reserved, Contact Park Dept. If you wish to reserve a spot for family event, there is plenty of parking, must purchase a day pass at Park entrance if you dont already have an annual pass, very nice place for entertainment and entire family, bring bottled water if you plan on visiting, no water available other than river.

Its a beautiful scenic drive to get here. Ill start off with the flaming geyser its not really a flame much less a geyser. It more of a tiny grave pit in the ground with a round tin can the size of a soccer ball. The bubble geyser is not existing. The trails are AMAZING! Perfect for kids of all ages! I would still recommend going to see the bubble geyser since it a easy hike to get there and the kids and yourself are rewarded with a gorgeous stream. Overall pretty fun! I would give more stars but the playground is flooded and very old.
