We only got to see just outside of the gate to the home since it’s currently closed due to Covid 19. It was still magnificent to see and such an honor to walk on the same grounds she once did. Thank you Ms. Tubman for your sacrifices and bravery.

I was a bit leery at first but then that feeling went away quickly. However my tour wasnt long enough for me today but it is a trip I plan on making again real soonThank you for everything

This is an interesting museum with lots of information on not only Harriet Tubman but also the underground railroad. The docents were great, we really enjoyed their presentation. Other than the visitors center, the only other building that can be visited is the Home for the Aged. Tubmans brick house is being worked on and will be open sometime in the future. If this review was helpful, please give it a like.

Tells the whole story of Harriet Tubman, based on facts. The site is working to restore her house, so you can only see the outside today. I really liked the exhibit which matched up dates in Tubmans life with events in US history. She was a remarkable woman in a time of tremendous changes in the nation. Highly recommend planning to have Paul as your tour guide.

While it is always interesting to stand on the same land that historical figures stood, there is not a lot to see. Mostly an exhibit where you can read about her. If you are traveling a distance, I recommend seeing the Seward house on the same day.

Must visit when there is a tour just for the interpretation. The interpreters do a great job in telling the life of Harriet Tubman. The visitor center is small and the brick house on the property is still undergoing restoration, but it is a great site to learn about Harriet’s life and impact in history.

Harriet Tubman was an exceptional leader in the Underground Railroad. You can visit her home on her own land. You can learn more about her life and her activism when you visit here. The tour leader did a great job relating Harriet Tubmans life story.

So there are two buildings on this site that would qualify as Harriet Tubmans home. The brick building is where she lived for many years. In the latter part of her life, she moved to the other building, a bigger one with a white facade that she herself set up to be a home for the elderly. The brick building is being renovated but you can peer through to see whats inside. The home for the elderly is open, but can only be visited as part of a guided tour. You can book the tour, which they offer several times a day, from the Visitors Center at the back of the property. Call ahead for their tour schedule so you dont miss one or wait too long.Dont miss the opportunity to visit if youre in town. I wont give too much away, but we left with the most profound admiration and respect for Harriet Tubman for the extraordinary life she lived.

Very interesting personality and American hero. The National Park docent gave a very lively and interesting talk about her life and times. Amazing! You will want to double check when the tours leave because they are not super clear on the website. The tour is an 1 1/2 but so amazing! One of the best guided tours of a home Ive ever been on. The guide is so well informed and obviously dedicated to preserving Tubmans legacy. They are in the process of teaming up with the national parks service so the museum should be getting bigger and the tours more regular, I just hope that they dont loose the incredible personality that is there now.

Our tour guide was an incredibly engaging and vivid story teller. I would love if all tour guides could pull you into history the way he did. The brick house was under renovation during our visit so unfortunately we couldnt see that. And photos are prohibited inside the Home for the Elderly. Im not sure the reason, but a nice side effect is it keeps you off your phone and in the experience. The rates are incredibly affordable and you can even get a discount if youre a student, military, senior, etc. I would highly recommend a visit!

I love to visit here and have been doing so since a young kid when my grandfather first brought me. A hero to this country and an honored citizen of Auburn, her house and museum are great ways to learn of the history of slavery, the Underground Railroad and the heroism of Harriet Tubman and others who worked to free slaves and end the horrific institution of slavery. Its an honor to live and grow up to where a hero like her lived and was laid to rest.

It was a nice experience and you learn so much about her! The Campus is going to be renovated soon to have a better place to show her belongings. The tour guide knows a lot and does a really interesting tour, but through the tour he lets us know his political views and for me that was out of place. A plus, the entrance was free during the time we went (although they accept donations).

I was the first visitor to arrive at 10am, as I was staying locally and thought I would pay a visit before leaving the area, having seen the good reviews I had read online. I assumed that the tour would be cancelled as it was just me there... Not so! Paul was happy to give the presentation just to me - and what a showman! This is a well presented museum, on an interesting subject (which I knew little about previously), run by passionate and well informed people, and is well worth an hour or so of anyones time, if in the vicinity of Auburn.

The National Park Service ruined this historical site! The Ranger from the Park Services immediately began and continued negative rants towards the AME Church for their care towards Harriet Tubman and the site. The Ranger guide had no knowledge of Harriet Tubman other than facts found on Google. I drove 7 hours to this site and left with no understanding of who Harriet Tubman really was. I loved the visitors center layout and pictures of Harriet Tubman though. There are very rare images within.
