Nice views after a quick 228 climb. Small breaks after every 30 steps. A nice educational museum area and gift shop at the entrance. No restrooms though, so consider that before starting your climb. In terms of social distancing , I guess try to stay way from other groups of climbers. Quick fun activity.

It was a great activity to do in Atlantic City. I have been to AC many, many times before and never had the chance to see the lighthouse. (Hours are a bit limiting, and I wish we couldve been there at dusk...views would have been unbelievable) nevertheless we had a great time. Everyone in my party from kids, ages 4,5,8 to a 40year old man scared of heights, a 58year old woman with hip issues and my 72year old man in a so-so shape were able to climb all of the 228 steps to the top. Pacing oneself is key! Staff was welcoming, and knowledgeable. Views were spectacular. Overall we had a great time and would recommend to everyone. I purchased a Groupon, it was worth every penny and it provided quite the savings

Very Well kept building and definitely a Nostalgic Historic building... Also, you can bring your own snacks or lunches to have yourself or as group(s) sit on picnic tables... And you can call to make reservations in advance for your Parties, Weddings or Whatsoever Functions You Like.

I had no idea how much fun this would be. The views and the breeze at the top were worth the climb. Buddy is the lighthouse keeper that you meet at the top of your climb. He is an amazing historian who is proud of the job he does. This is the tallest light house on NJ and the 3rd tallest in the United States. Now I wanna go to number 1 and number 2. Abby has created a monster. Oh yeah her opening day and my birthday are the same so thats pretty awesome.

We loved our visit with The Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City. Because of health reasons, I decided not to climb , but my husband and son did. They loved it!!!They met Buddy, who greeted them all the way up there. They also have a Live cam. As seen in the pictures. It’s a great way to say goodbye to AC until we meet again.

A visit to the Absecon Lighthouse. The number of times I’ve been to Atlantic City, I couldn’t even begin to count. In all those times I never knew that such a great part of both N.J. and US history was right up the block on the boardwalk. The Absecon lighthouse is the 3rd tallest masonry lighthouse in the US and the tallest in N.J. We were greeted by a great staff with smile and useful information. Marshall and I took the trip up the lighthouse, which is no joke; 228 steps. We were greeted at the top by Buddy, one of the volunteers, who was full of both local history as well as so many lighthouse facts. At 92, the climb up and down must be one hell of a task, but I don’t recall a time during the 10-15 minutes we spoke when he didn’t have a smile on his face.Overall a great experience, highly recommended.

Had a great time at the Absecon Lighthouse today! The staff both at the bottom and the top were friendly and told us some great facts and shared personal stories. The view was spectacular and the climb is a good workout! This lighthouse is the tallest in NJ and the 3rd tallest in the country! Keepers quarters are full of pictures and things to read about the history both of the lighthouse and Atlantic City itself.

Milton (Lighthouse keeper) will welcome you by offering card and thats sweet. He told us all about the lighthouse and its history. Staffs are really helpful and warm. steps are broad comparing to others. It is 5-6 block near to boardwalk. What I find amazing is street name of streets nearby, which are named after USAs states name. This lighthouse is situated at Rhode Island avenue. A truly wonderful place to visit in Atlantic city...sadly most people stick to the casinos and the revamped board walk for touristy attractions..but that is a piece of history right there...we had wandered off the board walk to reach there..you could take a cab or a bus also...$8 per person....walk up the old winding metal steps..take a break at the middle platforms to catch a breath...but once you reach upstairs, you would understand the pleasure at the end of the effort.. simply breath taking views of Atlantic city...
