Out of Hand produces the most provocative performances in Atlanta. The current offering, Shaking the Wind, is not to be missed--its coming to a living room near you so get your tickets now. Their Creative Kids program brings theater arts training to schools in the city--this is a group that demands support, both in donations, and theater ticket buying.

I travel from South Georgia to experience Out of Hand Theater, and neighbors clamor to join me. Creative excellence is well worth the commute. Different OOH venues are intriguing — love the engagement with actors in intimate settings. My coterie of theater-goers have all volunteered with after school programs so we admire the Out of Hand commitment to providing the arts to Atlanta kids. I’ll be back.

An autobiographical reflection depicting family members who shaped her life, Minka Wiltz’s “Shaking the Wind” is intimate and riveting. Her accomplished acting, playing different roles in the piece, is complemented by a powerful singing voice that makes for a thoroughly engaging theatrical event. -- Jim Strain

Shaking the Wind written and performed by Minka Wiltz is a wonderful evening. I laughed and was moved and made to think a bit but mostly I was thoroughly entertained by a master storyteller. The wonderful part was it was in the cozy confines of a persons living room along with 15 or so other folks who I got to meet and talk with before and after.Out of Hand is onto something profound here. Do not miss the opportunity to experience this show. -Jayson Warner Smith

This weekends performance of Shaking the Wind was phenomenal! The play is well written and Minkas performance is amazing. She sings as easily as most of us breathe and she sounds heavenly. Minka fully embodies each of the (at least) ten characters she plays in her one woman show. Lastly, I was a little skeptical about a living room performsnce but I actually loved it. Do yourself a favor and see this performance before it ends!

What an intimate theatrical experience! You go to someones home hosting the show, engage with the audience pre-show over beer/ wine and a food spread, sit in the hosts living space and watch an amazing one woman show. It takes you out of your comfort zone of how you witness and process a theatrical performance and you walk away feeling exhilerated and profoundly affected.
