I do not remember when I have had more fun, or stayed out until 2am! I appreciated the 70s-80s music and knew we made a good choice of a dance venue when Michael Jackson was blaring over the speakers when we arrived. I have been wanting to go to Johnnys Hideaway ever since a friend recommended it as a fun place to dance for individuals in my age group. As others have said, there is something here for everyone and people-watching was so much fun! I loved that Uber/Lyft rides are easily accessible and encouraged. I will be back! The service and food gets an A+!

Steven at the Bar is absolutely fantastic! I have no idea how he keeps up with the craziness but he does fantastic! He deserves all the extra tips! He keeps up with tabs and his customers fantastically! This is the first time we’ve been here and we LOVE the variety of music. We will definitely be back! One of my fav locations for tasty bar food. It was so delicious. The bill was appropriate. Food is like a restaurant in Jacksonville I liked.

Dont be fooled by their plain looking strip mall location. This is a cozy spot to enjoy cheap drinks, good bar food, music, and dancing! They do allow smoking inside, so be prepared. Parking can be difficult, but there is valet, and ride-share drop off and pick up. Dont get there too early because the party starts late. This is a fun place to hang out or bring out of town guests.

Went recently to meet friends for a drink and apps at lunch. Service was okay, perky busy batender. Drinks are nice and strong and affordable. Loud mouthed group of men talking sports and betting that were annoying. However, no one was adhering much to Covid/CDC guidelines. Yes, I get theyre guidelines but just take the mask off if youre not going to wear it, its not a chin hammock. Do NOT come if youre Covid leery.

Not really my cup of tea and only people with mask on was myself and the staff too many folks for me the drinks were good and you will pay $15 bucks before getting in the door $5 for valet and $10 at the door. Drinks were $5 before midnight but after that they were $10 if you like Top 50 then you may love it here.

Tucked away in strip mall of all places, this throwback 70s dive bar slash dance hall was a total surprise! The decor is outdated but in a perfectly acceptable way. With a long bar stretching the length of the room on the left, dance floor on the right and seating in front and back, theres plenty of room to belly up, dance, or spectate. Affordable drinks, awesome DJ, and a good crowd made a believer out of me. I came on a Wednesday night and the place was busting at the seams...will be back!

Crowded!!...with limited (if any) seating available, but a fun time none the less! Waiting in line, to be allowed inside, was a bit long -20 mins- and crazy, but is to be expected on a weekend in Atlanta. Decent $5 cover fee and great music...if you can find room to dance. Good Bar foods and great drinks too.

Very interesting place. The drinks were extremely reasonable (except you have to pay for water). The burgers were good. The bathrooms were clean. There was a bunch of older clientele until around midnight, then the younger, fun and single crowd came out. I honestly had a blast and didnt spend too much. Cover was only $5, people were nice and I really enjoyed myself.

Johnnys Hideaway was cool. The drinks are very inexpensive. Staff is cool too. However, be ready for some oldies but goodies (music and crowd). If you dont want to feel like the old guy in the club you can go here and be one of the youngest. Overall, I had a good time.

Great intimate and pretty cool atmosphere! Great mix of old school goodies to sing and dance to. The food is pretty good portions but the wings were a bit fresh. It was over an hr wait in line to get it but worth it. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Fun bar with a diverse crowd. Get there early or you WILL be waiting in line outside the door. $10 cover or $30 to skip the line. Drinks are priced well and made even better. A dance floor spawns the center of the facility that bobs to a diverse mix of music (oldies, country, hip-hop, pop, etc.)Recommend for a group of friends.

I love this place! Definitely a place for an older crowd but younger people come in after midnight. They have pretty good music. After a few of their big shots that are reasonably priced, you will want to get on the dance floor weather you can dance or not! One of my favorite places to come and have a good time

Enjoyed the vibe of the place. Drinks a bit pricey but service was good. Mostly 80s music with some 70s and 90s sprinkled in. For some reason on the night I was there the DJ would interject a dance floor clearing song every once a while which temporarily paused the good vibes.

A must-visit if you like oldies. Its best to avoid Fri/Sat because its so packed and you will wait in a long line outside because of limited capacity. But go on a Thursday with your friends or your partner and you will dance your heart out. Dont take drinks on the floor and dont take photos/videos. Beware that some older men might stare at you dance or hit on you but drink enough and you wont notice!

Gouged at johnny’s hideaway – it’s their policy!First visit to johnny’s hideaway last week, went with neighborhood couple and their relatives visiting for Thanksgiving. We were there about an hour, I took the check and thought there was an honest mistake. Pulled out phone for some light and found that we’d been charged $2.50 X 6 for water, and the waitress gave herself 20% gratuity! Uber was already outside and we were departing quickly – I gave ZERO additional tip and noted my thoughts on the bill (RIP OFF!).Called the restaurant a couple nights later to express my dissatisfaction, had to call back again a night later to get an actual manager, left name and number for the actual manager who did call back night after. Over three calls I spoke with a waitress and two managers, the best I can say is one was polite but indifferent, the other two rude, indifferent, and unconcerned. Same response from each: “It’s bottled water” and “It’s our policy”. Ridiculous.A BAR that charges for WATER. This was a first for me - I can say with complete honesty I’ve never been to any bar anywhere that charges for water. Even the most exclusive, snooty, stuck-up bars at the top of ski-slopes always provide water for free.And a 20% tip because our group of 6 happened to sit together at a table (surrounded by middle-aged men hitting on drunk college girls). Another first – I’ve been charged 18% gratuity at fancy, full-service, fine-dining restaurants, where it’s clearly noted on the menu, the waitress usually makes the effort to point this out to you, and frankly it’s expected – but 20%... at a BAR?I?Apparently the industry standard 1,000% markup on the alcohol isn’t enough to make ends meet here, they have get creative to bring in more revenue.Beware, and be prepared to be gouged in the dark at johnny’s hideaway – it’s their policy!

Fun place, not for A young crowd tho, Im in my early 30s and my friends were in thier 20s . They kept playing 70s and 80s music. It was fun but not for the average 24 or 30 year old person though. Lemon pepper wings were way too salty. Drinks on the other hand were the bomb! Patron margarita to be precise. Check it out, this place may be for you or not

Its time visit! Great night ruined! Ending with a horrible experience with a guy known as JOSH who works there posing as MANAGER! Awesomely rude! Totally destroyed the experience with his leering ,vocal threats, and improper unethical accusations! We were very surprised to have a this type of run in with a guy representing your establishment Edgar. I hear about your place quite often from my Co-Owners and understand you have had a good reputation for years but this guy is clearly out to ruin it! Please be mindful and watchful of the individuals that represents your brand!

I enjoyed the old school vibes! I cannot dance but somehow I was on the dance floor moving to the music. I had so much fun less the cigarettes. I’m not a drinker so no reviews on drinks but my friend thought the drinks were good and reasonably priced! The food was acceptable. Will go back again.

We had my sister in law’s 30th here last night. We had a blast! Great music and great customer service! Our waitresses were very patient and on point! Really cool atmosphere.

I had an absolute ball here! We got there before 9 on a Saturday to avoid the $10 cover and it got packed pretty quick. Its definitely an oldies but goodies crowd until midnight then the younger crowd pours in. I loved the music, I was dancing all night but the dancefloor was too small for me. People were nice, bathrooms were clean, drinks were inexpensive, and the food smelled good. We didnt pay to park and there is a dress code. I definitely will be returning.

They lived up to the reputation. We got there early enough to get a seat and relax. By 10pm the place was packed and the dance floor was full. Service is extremely fast and has it together. I rarely give 5 stars but this place earned it.

This place changed and not for the good. The good ole days are really gone. Johnnys just aint fun anymore. Staff is great, but the clientele has just gotten so bad.

Definitely a long line to get in and caters to more of the older crowd. Drinks were moderately priced with a gin and tonic running me around $7. Depending on the night it may be pretty crowded. Door service and bouncer do a great job at controlling the flow and influx of traffic.

The music is fun but the staff and rules are beyond acceptable for what they charge to get in. It could be a great hangout spot but is unfortunately ran very poorly. Maybe they will change management in the future to be more inviting to all people. :)

Saturday night Great music! Too crowded. Couldnt even get on the dance floor. Too many drunks and men that think its ok to touch you without asking. Cannot believe people are allowed to smoke in there!! Not sure, besides the music what everyone likes about it. Staff is friendly. I have been on a Sunday night, little more room and enjoyed the band.

Awesome Anniversary celebration with hubby! Great venue, great music. Crowded later but everyone is so nice and accommodating, if you run into each other you just get introduced with a handshake or a hug. They could double their space and still be crowded because its such a great place to go! We plan on making it a regular hang out. Used to go 30 years ago when we were in our twenties! So happy we found it again!

Next evening out will probably be at 57th Fighter Group insteadWent for the first time on a Saturday night. Place got more and more packed after midnight. Music impossible not to dance to! All your club favorites from 20-30 years ago.Great variety of people, noticed a lot of mismatched couples having a fab time. Also saw rando single guys dancing alone, girlfriends dancing with each other, group dances, anything goes. All styles and non-styles of dancing too.Staff courteous about moving us to a smaller table when part of our party left, and arriving party generously bought us a drink!Park across the street, it is free there. There was a $5 cover and 2-drink minimum the night I was there.Lots of camaraderie, I will go back soon!

This is a terrible bar! They let 100 people too many inside. There is no corridor whatsoever to get to the tiny single stall bathroom. You have to fight your way across the dance floor packed with people to get to the bathroom. By the time you get back to your seat its time to do it again! Why do you let so many people inside Johnnys? You just love to make it miserable for everyone I guess. You have very limited seating.

Loved my visit...Brian is hands down the best. He made my friends and I feel appreciated. We all had a great time and will most definitely return on our next girls night out. The atmosphere was fun, high energy and the drinks were strong, not that watered down stuff at other places. Brian made sure that our needs were met and even invited us back. Kudos on the customer service!

Very cool and unique. It did look a bit old and the carpeting and some parts could use renovation/restoration. Music was great! I wish the place was bigger because it was so crowded that I could barely walk around the place. I would recommend going here earlier to beat the crowds. I will definitely be back to check out the place again!

Classic and has a nice mix of people. But it is smokey inside and the mixed drinks arent good. Two drink minimum at the tables. Meh.

Love the music, dancing and staff. Service is great! Dont care for the cigarette smoke. We try to come early, as the smoking gets worse as the night progresses. Would be nice to have some smoke-free nights a few nights each week.UPDATE: Johnnys Hideaway is now Smoke Free since Atlanta has banned smoking in bars.

Great place to have a great night out.... plays all genres and different decades of music. Great food and drinks. You can meet some friends there for sure.

Only thing I dont like is the valet. They tell me theres no complimentary parking after 6 in the entire parking lot. Otherwise I love the place.

A huge hole in the wall, but a great variety of old and new music. Once I went there and was actually not by myself! That was definitely better when someone is not looking all over but looking at me!!

I really shouldnt even be rating this place. My son, an Emory law student, loves this place and has tried twice to get me to check out this cougar bar with his buddies. Both times, we ended up leaving after standing in line for more than two hours and never getting in. So I cant really rate anything but the line, although that was somewhat interesting.

The best part of going to this club was leaving..... club atmosphere: smoke filled, terrible drinks, arrogant bouncers push people around, don’t try to dance because you cannot even move on the dance floor.....never again and the alcohol head ache the next day will cost you $15 a drink
