Unpretentious! Cheapest drinks in town. Good bartenders. Managers are completely engaged in the day-to-day and are always interacting with customers. Have really cracked down on the B.S., as evidenced by the consistent enforcement of their No Tolerance Policy. No fighting. No smoking inside or on patio. No oversized bags. The loyalty of their regulars is commendable. They are like having a full built-in security force who fully support the No Tolerance Policy. Everyone knows everyone else. If they dont you, they will make a point of knowing you...then pull you into the fold that has made Friends the most appropriately named bar in Atlanta.

Friends on Ponce is a great place to experience a wonderful night in Midtown. Go alone you will be entertained. Go with people you like, you will have an exceptional time. Go with friends and you make a couple of new ones before you leave. Drinks are stiff, bartenders are fast, music is dictated by the crowd. Play pool and video games, play the people youre around. However if you play with Friends on Ponce, youll be playing together regularly! One of the most diverse bars I choose to frequently patronize because of the Wonderful times Ive had every time I go. Mid day snacks are complimentary on certain days and Plenty of Fun on many different levels are awaiting you to enjoy! Dont forget poker nights on certain evenings as well. The LGBT community are the primary guests here but dont fret, breeders have an abundant amount of great times here as well.

Had a great time here while visiting Atlanta. The bartenders are friendly and the drinks are very strong. The crowd is laid-back and a mix of everybody. Ill definitely be back!️️️️️

I always love Friends on Ponce. The drinks are well made and the place is casual and friendly. The juke box is fun to mess with and pool is a great way to share some drinks with friends. I like to come on Thursday which is poker night. It can get a little crowded on these nights but I enjoy it all the same. This car has been an ATL establishment for years and still lives up to its name.

I went here once and was turned off by all of the cigarette smoke. I came back after the smoking ordinance and it’s nice to be able to breathe. Overall wouldn’t recommend going in before 10/11pm. You get a lot of really odd bar flies in there...not sure if regulars or what but overall they were making a lot of people uncomfortable. Within 5 minutes of being there a lady claiming and looking to be from Louisiana bothered us for a good 10 minutes about the “history” of Mardi Gras. Continued to bother and cuss at us because “we didn’t know who Denzel Washington was” (?????). Shortly after, the bartender kept serving another lady who was clearly drunk out of her mind. She was so drunk at the bar that she fell into some other bars stools and then to the floor immediately after standing up....One guy who claimed to work there and also was clearly drunk said he would drive her home. The same guy later asked us if we wanted a quick “pick me up”. A little bit after that the Louisiana/Denzel Washington lady was seen snorting something with another lady in one of the corner booths. Won’t return.

Good watering hole. Good drinks and pool environment. Smoking inside is still permitted. Thats the bad part. You dont notice it till you leave. Itll be all in your clothes.

Great place to go to love the atmosphere but the only down fall to it when I check my bank statement it showing that I was charged a different amount then what I signed for so someone stole from me this is ridiculous!!!

I visited Friends last night which I hadnt been to in quite a while. The crowd is very scary now. I was also threatened by another patron. I felt unsafe at that point and left in a rush. Will not be returning and advice that if you go, keep an eye on the people around you. They are sketchy at best.

This was a very interesting establishment. Ventilation is subpar, leaving your entire person heavily engulfed with cigarette smoke, and bar funk upon exiting. There was an underwhelming staff presence, making getting drinks a chore not worth the effort. We ran for the door after one cocktail.

Super fun and chill neighborhood bar! Lots of local characters and people who just happened to stop by. Drinks are strong and atmosphere lively. Get ready for all the smoke...only down side.

I love this spot, very friendly environment and very diverse. I visit here 2-3times a week and have met many people that I will call friend along the way. I came in from Shreveport, La to take care of things from the passing of my brother Mickey Pouncy -Jones who was killed in a car accident while riding with a Lyft driver in Atlanta at corner of Johnson and Perrry. Friends on Pounce is his favorite spot so my sisters and i decided to go and we had a blast. Totally enjoyed the atmosphere. We also met new friends.

Cigarette smoke is the only issue I have. People should be made to smoke outside. Need more space on patio instead of the plants all over the place. Defeats the purpose

Parking is horrible and the place is hard to find. I called the staff twice to figure out where to park and where the actual bar even was, they were rude both times. I never made it inside, just left. Apparently the bulding with the name on it is not the building at all . Heaven forbid it be raining and dark like it was for me last night, the staff will label you incompetent. I wouldnt spend a dime there ever. Patronize at your own risk.

Pay attention to your receipts when coming here! Theyll try to charge you for extra drinks that you did not order to compensate for a tip. How do I know this? Cause when I closed my tab, I noticed I was charged for an extra drink. After bringing it to the bartenders attention and them issuing a refund, I was asked So, are you going to tip?. Fair to say I wont be going back anymore.

Nice place to enjoy cocktails and conversation, theres better bars in Atlanta but when we want a change of scenery Friends on Ponce provides a lovely evening. The bartenders arent shy, and the drinks are a decent value. Only problem is youll walk out smelling like an Ashtray.
