Fun place!! The drinks were decent. I expected to pay more for where I was, but the drinks were a decent price. The staff was friendly from the door guy to the bartenders. Oh, and yes, it’s important, the bartenders were good looking! Music was good and I enjoyed my visit.

I went yesterday for the first time, I was happy and pleased by the atmosphere, the music and the friendliness of the doorman and the customers until I ordered the first drink and the Batman yelled at me demanding in a rude way that I had to give him a tip when he is not An obligation, I asked in a polite way to speak to the manager and he was unable to say anything he completely ignored me I will never return !!

Definitely my favorite gay bar in Atlanta. I used to hang out here all the time when I lived across the street. The bartenders always know you by name and its always a fun time. It does get crowded, especially during the drag shows so get there a little early if you want to claim a space and not just crowd in.

Have you ever been at a bar and paid for a round of drinks, then when the tab came, you told the bartender No I want to buy the round of drinks, not just MY drink and then she says this IS the entire round and then your jaw drops down to the floor and its super super hard to pick it back up again?Thats Blakes. And the drinks are cheap. Even when its top shelf. Like $12 cheap for two drinks. Wow. My jaw is still down there.Blakes has a lot of different spaces. The downstairs bar, the upstairs bar, the upstairs outside area.The bathrooms are, wow, really disgusting. And are no gender. I decided to wait to go elsewhere.But then again.. its bar. What do you expect? And it was in line with all my expectations! 5 stars for cheap drinks and friendly bartender service!

Interesting place. its like three places in one. Front area is very hip bar vibe, upstairs is more of a dive bar feel, and the patio kinda like a smoke shop -everyone is out there smoking.

It’s a hit or miss here.If you want to get wild, come here a little after 1am, but just hope and pray for a good DJ.Since Jungle closed, this club and the one across the street gets extremely packed. No one understands that the front is the dance floor, so they will casually walk through with a line of people... when they can clearly walk behind the bar.Like the review says, it’s a hit or miss. These separate venues are located directly across the street from each other. Blake’s has two floors. I didn’t spend any time up stairs excepting entering there. I went straight downstairs and started dancing. A friend of mine gave me the history of how they have drag shows downstairs. The venue is nice and modern, both of them actually but as I have been reviewing clubs internationally for 7 years now I did not see anything fresh, new, or individuality. The crowds were mostly white males with minorities and females sprinkled in between. I was bored at Blake’s (though it was extremely packed) and went across the street to Ten. The drinks at Ten were alright. It was cute dancing to Ariana Grande then chatting with the locals outside. Overall these are both cute safe places for gays to conjure and gather, but there is nothing special going on. I would like to return on a signature night, but I guess this type of scene isn’t popular in Atlanta. Your favorite club critic Shamel Jones!

Great gay bar, Blakes is a mainstay for midtown Atlanta. The bartenders will be very busy but they are right on top of things with really fast service and are always super friendly. There are drag shows every week, and it gets packed quickly with standing room only. There are 3 bars, 1 downstairs and 2 upstairs, so wander around and find the right one for you.

Dont go hear unsafe environment were security doesnt get repremanded for excessive force.

The staff are intentionally rude and racist to folks that live in black bodies. The staff are very dismissive and this is NOT a safe space for people of color.

I went there just before the MLK holiday. It was a Sunday and I thought it was not gonna be busy but it was. It actually got too crowded at 10pm. People were just pushing onto each other. It was a nice, fun atmosphere and the staff did not give enough focus to customer experience since they were packed. Im not too good with crowds so I left early. I will go back again when its not as busy and will rewrite this review. But so far I had an awesome experience. First thing I noticed is that there is definitely no parking in the area. You can park right outside the bar but only 5 cars can park there so its almost impossible. Expect to pay $8-$12 for the nearest paid parking area. Thats one thing I hate about the city.

Great place to have fun and let loose. The people are great. The performers are amazing (I got to see the drag show). And the music is fun!! Definitely recommended for a fun night out in the city.

I read a few reviews before going here and it isn’t fantastic, but nowhere near as bad as some people are saying. There’s no cover charge, drinks are cheap, and the staff are very nice. The clientele were maybe Judy, but I’m a grown ass woman and I don’t care about their thoughts. My only problems with it is that it isn’t really a dance club, which is what I was looking for, and the drag shows are fun, but kind of underwhelming as they don’t have a stage, so you’ll probably be watching from across the bar. It’s also kind of crowded with nothing really going on. I’d go with a group of friends if all you wanna do is drink and have some fun, or maybe a date if you felt the mood for that was right.

They dont let people come in with a bag. I guess they cant afford to hire someone to do coatcheck

Its a great neighborhood bar. The staff remembers your cocktail preference and has it ready for you quickly... even on a crazy busy Saturday night when the bar is 7 deep. Shout out to Andrea and Eric for excellent service and creating a great customer experience.

I visited this past weekend, and I was shocked to have other customers tell me that this place was for Hot and Attractive customers only. They continued to tell me this than left for a few minutes, I paid them no attention until they came back and asked what Im was doing there. So I left the establishment. This is the 4th time this has happened. I kept telling myself that it wont happen again; but in any case, Ill be going to other bars from now on. Drink were great, shame the customers are not.

Beautiful place and environment

This is the bar I frequented the most when I lived in Atlanta and even though I no longer live in Atlanta I still drop by every time I visit the city. The people were always friendly and welcoming. The bartenders were all very attractive. And the drinks and beer are priced lower than most midtown bars.There was an older German gentleman by the name of Hans who I met at Blakes and formed a friendship with. He always met me there and wed buy each other drinks after I got out of class or after I got off work. I lost contact with him when I moved 4 years ago but if anyone reading this knows who Im talking about please let me know how hes doing.

Its just ok. Having traveled a bit and dropped into quite a few gay bars, this one is on-par. Be careful drinks here can be a bit pricey for a gay bar. 1st floor is miserable during peak times, head upstairs for a bit more room. Bartenders can be typically snotty, so tip accordingly to get a positive attitude and attention, otherwise good luck getting a drink.

Stopped by here on a Monday night while visiting for trivia night. Nice staff, affordable drinks in a nice location near Piedmont in Midtown. They have an upstairs area too which is nice if you want to escape the crowds on the main level. Drinks are also well-made.

Sat may 13. Night shift. Not the tall guy but the shorter one with blondish hair and receding hair line. 2nd floor. I went to you twice and both times I was ignored completely. Literally people behind me were being served. It didn’t bother me the first time as I’m a server and I understand how the service industry goes but in the end,I had one of my friends take over and get the order for me since he’s a bartender but the second time I again decided to just get a drink again by myself and he again just ignored me, I don’t understand. Just please go in order of ppl coming to the bar ledge. It’s not that hard. Maybe he’s a beginner and he was doing the drinks properly for my table, but idk, just bothered me that he couldn’t freaking serve me. Literally, 2-3 ppl behind me got served first. Like I don’t understand. Just stop doing that. Try doing it in order. It’s not like I was not in front of you, I semi was, and you still ignored (or seemed like it). Just get that fixed. Besides that, great bar.

Six of us (two gay guys, three straight girls and one straight guy) came here on a Saturday night and had a blast. We arrived on the earlier side (by 9pm) to snag some stools at the bar, positioning ourselves for prime drag performance viewing. As someone who travels 200 days out of the year and check out the LGBTQ communities very often. I was very disappointed with Blake’s.Blake’s definitely attracts one type of person. It’s very pretentious which is alike a lot of bars, but normally they have staff members that will help make it normal. Not here the staff is as bad as the pretentious goers.Really disappointed in this establishment.

Hung out here on a Monday afternoon/evening. Quiet and pleasant service. Burger and salad were OKAY. You can rest on your laurels or improve, if you wanna make this place legendary, rework the food options. Burger was tough and bland and the salad was uninspired (dry cucumbers).

My favorite bar in Atlanta except on new years eve...I drove 2 hours to go to this bar and got there to wait in line for the bouncer to tell me that I had to have a ticket to get in and the only way to get a ticket was to purchase it on some website beforehand...other than that its still my favorite bar in Atlanta so far but Im still new so that could change if I have my new years eve experience again

Ok so I been here a couple of times. Tonight I was annoyed and discriminated against. I went upstairs to buy drinks. Bartender ran my card said it was declined. WHICH WAS IMPOSSIBLE BC I HAVE MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT! Then he proceed not to return my card to me saying that it was theft. HOWEVER the liqour he poured I didnt even drink. It sat on the counter and I never touched it!!! He refused to give me my card until I paid. LUCKILY, I had cash on me. I paid, walked away, and didnt even take the drink because I was disgusted. Considering never coming here ever again.... Bar Tenders upstairs are really rude!

I normally have a good time going here! I live an hour and a half north of Atlanta and when I come to visit this is normally the place I want to go to. However, this last time I went I did not have a good experience. The blonde female bartender served us, I paid the bill and gave her a decent tip. We stood at the bar for about ten minutes until the time that said female bartender walked up to us out of everyone else standing at the bar and asked us to move away from the bar because we were blocking customers. It was extremely distasteful and disrespectful. I have been there many times and have paid quite a bit of money only then to be asked to move away from the bar which was the only comfortable place to stand at the time, while hundreds of other people were standing at the bar that were not asked to move. I do not think I will be making that hour and a half drive to be mistreated like that again.

Blakes has been one of my favorite bars for ten years or more. However, they hired a relatively new bartender (he has been there two year). He has a beard and works downstairs. He is rude and has an attitude unless you are a muscular white guy. Please get rid of him, and return to the friendly bar you have always been.

What can I say that hasnt been said already?I made significant payments on Blakes mortgage when I first moved to Atlanta. It is THE place to see and bee seen during the week and on weekends. It is located in the heart of the gay district, 10th and Piedmont, so it is rarely empty.If you enter on 10th, know there is a second level around the corner in the back. Depending on the night and the entertainment, the drink lines may be shorter upstairs. The bathroom lines are always long, so use the urinals located downstairs, near the entrance. There is never a wait.Bring singles. Always tip the bartender, and give the performer double.

Unless youre looking to stand in a huddled crowd I advise you skip Blakes Thursday thru Saturday. The crowd here always tends to be younger and they show up in masses. So expect poor service mostly because the bartenders cant keep up. Not to mention you should expect to swim across the crowd just to reach the service table.

Blakes on the park is a staple in the atlanta LGBT community. I have been going to this bar for a couple of years. IN fact I frequent this bar so often I moved to my current apartment in order to be able to walk to blakes and have even gotten to know some of the bartenders personally. Over the summer of 2012 blakes changed owners and management. They had employees that had been there for YEARS leave because the integrity of the bar had changed. I guess it takes a little longer for that to be felt by the costumers.I have been BAN FOR LIFE from blakes simply because the NEW manager does not think that I should be able to hang out in this bar. He says I get drunk and I need to figure out my life and that maybe I have problems and thats why I am an alcoholic. Last time I checked, the Managers of bars are suppose to make sure the costumer is happy, not play doctor phil and treat me as though I have mental issues.He has also told me point blank that he does not like me. And has said he does not feel like letting me come back in. LITERALLY. THAT WAS HIS REASON.He also threatened to have me arrested if i ever step back on the property.He has caused me much emotional distress and it could very well be said he is bullying me.No one should be ban from a bar for life for any of the stated reasons. Obviously blakes does not value any of their coustmers loyalty at all. The manager is just trying to flex his power. It doesnt matter that I use to be at blakes at least 2-3 times a week. He clearly doesnt value my money or my loyalty to his bar.

Beautiful bar (two stories, center bar with a towering and lit up liquor selection, garage doors opening it up to the outside, and a huge screen playing music videos in the background), great music, affordable/accessible drinks, perfect location, good food, and everyone is just so fun! Will definitely be returning!
