I went to the Rocky Horror Show and had a blast. The people were hilarious and the show was very fairly priced. They had a raffle that had really good prizes as well.

I just watched Tenet on the big screen and boy was it nice to be back in a theater. I felt very safe, and all policies (including temperature checks and masks) were enforced by staff and obeyed by patrons. If you feel safe enough to return to theaters, I would definitely recommend the plaza theater. Its a conveniently located, high quality venue.

An Atlanta icon. Its a must-visit. Also hope it continues to be supported by patronage. This is an audiophiles and film fanatics place to see a film for certain.Very well run. With service ordered online and brought to your seat... definitely an over-the-top win, win, win!Saw Tenet here most recently (October 2020). With all the reviews on bad audio, I knew if there were to be a place to see this film it would be here. Was not disappointed!

Check out the super cute drive-in theater theyve set up behind the building! We went in a convertible, put the top down and had a great night out. Its not too hot by 8:45 when the movie starts so air conditioning isnt needed. You can order concessions by calling the attendants on the phone and they walk your snacks to your car - wearing masks and gloves of course. Super fun, highly recommended!

Beautiful theater with 80s new wave stylized decorations. Hosted an independent film screening here, management was relatively easy to reach, addressed all our concerns, were incredibly helpful, and the staff was very friendly toward our patrons. Popcorn is a little pricey, but you get free refills. Alcoholic beverages available too. Clean bathroom and theater. Looking forward to seeing another movie here in the near future.

Theater was fine and clean but the chairs were not so comfortable. The screen size is smaller than other theaters so there comes a feeling of small screen when sitting in the last few rows. Sound system is well maintained and nice. Location is very near to road. The main issue here is parking as the number of parking spots in from of theater a very few. So you have look around other places for parking. But you can find parking at near places which are at walking distance. Watched doctor sleep movie, one of the best movies so far in this year.

Theres a reason this place stays open and running as the oldest theatre in the city. RHPS is always a great time. Ive really enjoyed the recent events (monthly) hosted by WUSSY MAG - the energy is palpable, the theatre itself has the old school charm, and its in one of my favorite parts of town on Ponce. I visit as often as I can, because not only do they show the oldies, but they play a variety of new indie flicks you cant see anywhere else!

A good solid theater that is continuing to play many of the classics such as Clue, the Labyrinth. They are often sold out, there offering you can find via Facebook so book early to get a seat. Also, arrive early to find your best seat. My wife and I have loved the offerings and will be back again and again.

Went there for an anticipated movie and ended up being more impressed by the theater. A deceptively small storefront leads to a surprisingly large theater experience! It may not be IMAX but it was much better than the dinky theater back home... and that one is relatively modern (~21 years old). Im contrast, this place is Atlantas oldest theater. I was expecting it to be run-down and minimally retrofitted for modern movies yet it was one of the best Ive seen. I can tell that the seating and part of the screen slope underground and are behind the other stores/restaurants but it seems like some sort of magic trick to hide all this room behind such a small entrance nestled between shops at a strip mall!If you ever want someone to experience a classic movie on the big screen close to the way you remember it and it happens to be coming back here, you owe it to them!

This is more or less an Atlanta landmark, given its location. Sitting on a major non-interstate route from East OTP to Midtown, and nestled between Little Five Points and Virginia Highlands, the Plaza Theater marquee is hard to miss.Dont expect the latest summer blockbuster, though. This classically decorated theater caters to a more eclectic crowd, showing everything from regular midnight Rocky Horror screenings to classic silent films, and even the occasional feature film anime. The stage is also available for live performance, so you never know what to expect.

The Plaza Theatre is a place that shows movies for those who LOVE the movies! They show a great mix of new and older classics. Although it was built a decade after Atlantas Fox, it has the distinction of being Atlantas oldest continuously run movie venue. NOW it also has a Real Live Theatre Organ, for the first time in its 80-year history, thanks to the Atlanta Chapter of A.T.O.S. You should come early just to hear organist Ken Double (and others) play the pre-show!

This place is NOT handicapped accessible! I went there to see a movie and it was showing up on the second floor. There was no access to the limited engagement film showing. One phone numbers on their site goes to a landline in New York and the box office one claims to be open 30 minutes before a showing but tends to ring once before immediately going to voice mail.Trying to figure out tickets out of state became a stressful hassle and I wish it wasnt because this place was beautiful. This is one of the last places in Atlanta to see big movies on a big screen. (Watching Kubricks 2001 here was a real pleasure.) Be aware that, while one of the screens here is wide and grand, the others are relatively small. Indie flicks are often shown upstairs on a smaller screen (the old balcony, converted into a smaller second theatre). If you see a classic movie advertised, you might call ahead and check whether its playing downstairs (hooray!) or upstairs (boo!). Well-attended regular showings of Rocky Horror keep the doors open, making it possible for all of us to do the Time Warp and see movies as they were meant to be seen. Recommended.
