Im an art consultant whos been working with Marty for 15 years and can attest that he is an adamant professional and a talented classically trained sculptor. I have no reservations suggesting his studio for custom commissions. Ive worked with him on everything from high-quantity casting projects to monumental bronze sculptures and he never disappoints. Thank you for all your hard work Marty!

As a bronze sculpture foundry, we get to know lots of sculptors, seeing what they are really like, and NOT just the facade they put on for the public. Marty is one of the best people we work with. He genuinely cares about people and doing the right thing. Your eyes can tell you that Marty does beautiful work, but I can tell you from behind the scenes that he is also wonderful to work with. He will be honest, open and do everything possible to make your art project a delight!

Childrens Museum of Atlanta commissioned Marty Dawe to develop a sculpture near the entrance of the Museum. It was brilliantly designed and creatively and beautifully depicted the whimsy and playfulness of childhood. Every day we watch our visitors and passersby stop to enjoy and to have a photo of themselves taken with the sculpture in the frame. It is a reminder of the joy of being a child.Working with Marty was wonderful -- he is collaborative and deeply talented.

Dealing with Cherrylion, Martin Dawe, and his staff has been an absolute pleasure. Martin is an incredible artist. I very much appreciated his willingness to engage me in the creative process. His art and his passion for the subjects are inseparable. I am more than satisfied, we have created beautiful art with gravitas and significance.

Highly professional!! Cherrylion Studios was chosen in a nation-wide search to design the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial statue on the grounds of Georgias State Capitol. His attention to detail and ability to work with multiple parties is incredible. He kept the project on schedule and within budget.

I am on my third class with Marty at Cherrylion Studios and I am having a blast! I do not have an art background so I literally just jumped into this without having a clue as to what I was doing. Marty and PK have a tremendous amount of patience and will take the time to help whenever needed. I am amazed with what I have been able to sculpt with some instruction and also “permission” to just have fun with it. I am learning how to see 3 dimensionally and fascinated by sculpture that really didn’t even interest me before. I highly recommend Cherrylion Studios to anyone at any level!

I have been taking classes at Cherrylion for nearly 20 years. [Im a slow learner, I guess.]In fact it is because the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere makes everyone feel at home and the ever changing artistic projects in the studio are endlessly fascinating. Students are encouraged to find their own creative vocabulary with as little or as much expert instruction and support as they desire. Home baked bread and wine keep all the senses stimulated.

Ive been taking classes at Martys studio for a decade, because after the first class I was hooked! Its a very pleasant experience....Cherrylion is relaxed and laid back. Instruction is great, its tailored to the individuals learning level. Both professional artists and new students with no formal art training are all able to enjoy the sessions and group instruction- there is good camaraderie and learning is self-paced. The studio hires the best variety of models, and provides the clay and firing (so students dont need need to buy it separately or book time for the kiln or load it). There are plenty of stands and equipment to use and tools to try. And theres always a finishing class with suggestions on painting, mounting, and presenting finished clay figure sculptures. Its such a wonderful place to practice art and learn sculpture techniques, that I can easily recommend it!

Marty Dawe and the Cherrylion Studio sculpted for us a bronze Mary Magdalene that is as unique as it is beautiful. Standing on the grounds of All Saints Episcopal Church in downtown Atlanta, our Mary gestures outward as though asking a question, or perhaps as though startled by something she sees. She seems to be in motion, intentional and alive, with a strong and intelligent face, long hair pulled loosely back, sandled feet, and a vessel of herbs and spices cradled in one arm. As his marvelous work progressed, Marty was a true collaborator, researching, posing questions, and inviting our committee to the studio for each stage of creation. He made repeated visits to the site to gauge the scale and angle, background and landscaping. On the exact day promised, he and his terrific crew arrived to install the figure and base. From concept to completion, Marty was a joy to work with. He is an extraordinarily gifted artist and a pleasure to know.
