This place is beautifully curated with fine art and craft arts. From fantasy felted wool sculptures to luminous ceramics, from mixed media paintings and wooden assemblages, from beautifully rendered nature photography to the sophisticated and moody collage paintings of Leslie Peterson Sapp and others, this place is a treat to the eyes and imaginations of collectors and tourists.

If you go to Astoria - go here. I missed out by not setting foot in this place for years. Wandered in while waiting for an appointment and became and instant fan. I have paid to enter art exhibits that could not hold a candle to this place. The curation, presentation, lighting, staff all just great. You will walk out refreshed and excited about art. We are particular fans (and now owners) of their Noel Thomas and Don Gray works. Cheers RiverSea

Okay. This place should get six or seven stars. It holds the most amazing art produced by incredibly talented Oregon artists using all kinds of media. The most amazing item was a completely handmade ceramic chess set. Each piece completely different from the others. For $35,000 it can be yours. If you need a little something different to add to your decor, this is the place.

Ah the are the best. Diverse wonderful art work in a beautiful airy space. For second Saturday art walk they have life music wine, fused water and good spreads. Even better I had a wonderful conversation with one of the artist. He was not just trying to sale his work he told me about his process. It is a good place to buy cards too.

I love the RiverSea Gallery. Its both so spacious and homey. Its always the first place I go for the Second Saturday Art Walk, and I love bumping into friends there. While I obviously need to keep an eye on them, I love bringing my children to see whats new. I also love that its owned by a woman and has been in Astoria for twenty years, certainly an anchor in a vibrant art community. The jewelry is always so beautiful too. Thanks RiverSea!

One of the best galleries in the Northwest. Compares favorably with the very best galleries in Portland and Seattle. Has a large diversity of original work and brings in artists from all over the nation. Staff is knowledgeable and courteous. They have a monthly opening for a featured artist... former featured artists are Jennifer Williams, Thomas Bennett, Harry Bennett, P.K. Hoffman, and Noel Thomas. about the fellow who was upset about the framing... they sell frames right down the street... pick the one you like... Im sure youll approve of your own taste.

Review №23

Very nice gallery with many unique and beautiful pieces. Among some of the eclectic finds there is a wonderful, handcrafted ceramic chess set that is worth a gander and a lot of folk art. It seems the main theme of the gallery is Astoria itself which kind of limited my interest in a lot of pieces and the person working there did not leave the front desk or really acknowledge our existence on our way in or out. Some of the pieces, in my opinion, are grossly overpriced which really turned me off of a lot of other pieces as they seemed arbitrarily priced. This confusion could have been addressed by someone working here and likely would have turned into a sale had there been any salesmanship in the first place. In summary itd be worth a look and you should form your own opinion on the art and pricing.

Riversea is the longest running gallery in Astoria. Huge selection of art. All original- no reproductions. High quality work. I have been showing my work there for 15 years as have some of the most respected artists in the northwest. I think whoever gave the poor review has never seen real art. the frame is NOT the point. Sometimes an artist puts a simple protective frame on a piece when he/she cant afford an expensive frame. It is common for many serious artists to be unable to spring for expensive frames just to show their work. The work itself is whats important. too bad many gallery visitors think a nice frame makes good art.Thats just pakaging. Riversea shows some of the best art around, has good staff and contributes to the community.
