This is a gallery of regional craft - mostly printmaking. A lot of the work in here is grossly overpriced for what it is. There are some affordable things and some talented craft people are represented here. But what kills this place is the vibe. and solely responsible for the vibe are the lifeless heavy folks behind the counter. Don’t expect a hello or a goodbye; walk in, walk through the aisles with that constant feeling of being watched and not welcome. buy something if you’re in need of a gift and protected from the staff energy by a force field of CBD induced bliss. and then walk out. you were never there. it didn’t happen.

This is some of the most unique art I have seen in a while. So neat , in fact, I traveled 3 hours from my home to this store just for some of their laptop stickers! If you like abstract and surreal art, this is the place for you

I LOVE this shop! Theyve made finding & buying local, handmade goods easy and fun. Its like having all the most creative items you might find in a 2880x Etsy search all pulled together in one room (with good music to boot). The inventory they carry is amazing and always changing.

My wife and I vacationed in Asheville earlier this year and we stopped in to Horse + Hero as we were cruising through downtown. I picked up a t-shirt, and we both really liked the art on offer.Later in the year we began decorating a nursery for our first child and decided to buy some animal prints, which I ordered online through Horse + Hero. When it turned out that a couple of the prints I ordered were damaged in the store, they made an effort to call me and let me know that my shipment would be a little late. I know it doesnt sound like a lot, but I really appreciated the extra effort that they were putting in.Its clear that they take their business seriously, in particular the customer service portion of their business, and for that they deserve praise.Plus all the stuff they sell is really, really cool.

Very cool little Modern Art store. Lots of local stuff to purchase. I definitely recommend going in here if you you like neat little paintings and funky drawings. They also have a selection of clothing, knickknacks, and pint glasses, xcetera.

Horse + Hero is a phenomenal place to pickup craft, design, and fine artworks. There is a nice balance between originals and printed pieces, as well as hand crafted jewelry and ceramics. The owner is extremely kind and knowledgeable about other local spots within the city. My girlfriend and I stopped in during a day trip into Asheville. He offered us water for free though we didnt purchase anything on the spot. Will definitely be back for gifts and to buy a few furnishings for our space when back in town!!
