We had a blast. We had booked for the Mad Scientist room, but a mix up happened so we went ahead and took on the Western Room..They explained to us that something happened so they told us that they would try go accommodate us somehow to make things right due to the mix up. Anyways...as much as we wanted to do the Mad Scientist room, the Western was NOT disappointing. We solved the room with just 4 minutes and 32 seconds left. We cant wait to take on the Mad Scientist room and the Chocolate Factory Room when it is available. The Staff is awesome. I do not remember the name of the lady with the AWESOME hair, but she needs a raise.. she is great!!!Escape Room, Thank You!

We completed the Victorian Mansion room and loved it! The puzzles were clear, technology worked well, and game masters were responsive. Solid escape room experience with great decor and atmosphere.

This was our first escape room experience and we had a blast! The guy working the desk was funny and helpful. We can’t wait to come back.-the jumpy heifers

Went here on a date night with my husband. I got to be smart and pretty at the same time! We escaped with 15 minutes to spare and then I went around the corner to the Twisted Laurel for drinks and dessert. This makes a great date night!

Just left an exciting adventure inside the Victorian Mansion. My experience at Escape Out Asheville was spectacular. My friends and I were able to work and solve puzzles as well as have a fun bonding time. I 10/10 recommend this escape room to all, not only was the staff was super friendly, they accommodated us with all of our needs. Overall an excellent and super fun time!

This was a great place to take the kids. Went with my son and his friends for his birthday. They did the Chocolate Factory room. They escaped before the time was up. I used a Groupon deal and only paid a little over $80 for booking as a private room. Even though it says the limit is 6 people, if you book it as a private room you can have 8 people.

The escape room was not assembled well and was not put back together after a previous game. A door was open when we first walked in the room before even starting. We touched an item in the room and the exit door opened 10-15 minutes into the game accidently without solving any puzzles and we had to work the rest of the room with the door open. You could also only work on one clue at a time, which is not exciting with a group of 6. The staff did no explaining whatsoever prior to starting the room and the story line was mediocre. This would be a good room for kids, but was a bit disappointing for a group of adults. We did get the room on sale though.

The room looked hastily put together. Some of the clues were dodgy as far as how they’d been put up. The main thing is the major clue in the room was totally wrong altogether and if we hadn’t just kept trying numbers we’d have never made it. Had the game master come in after to tell us what it was and it was definitely wrong. He said the people before us must have messed it up. We were the first of the day though...We managed to beat it by sheer luck(Trying to write this while giving nothing away is difficult... but it wasn’t well done at all)

Went here recently with a group of friends to the Arden location and did the Chocolate Factory. Doesn’t look like much on the outside, but it sure was a lot of fun on the inside. Doesn’t seem too hard until you actually do it. It really makes you think and tests your personalities together. We had a great group that worked really well together and made it out within the allotted hour. It was an absolute blast working the puzzles to work our way out! Hands down a great time had by all, and recommend to any group of friends looking for a good time.

Had a great experience at the downtown location. We did the mad scientist one and it was definitely one of the more difficult rooms we’ve done, although it wasn’t over the top. One technical glitch but the game master had a solution right away. He did a great job overall, as well.As others have said, the location is odd and it would be helpful if they could put an A-frame sign at the end of the alley to make it more obvious.All of that said, we thought the place had plenty of charm and would definitely come back the next time we’re in Asheville.

We just did the mad scientist room and while the staff member was very friendly and helpful, there were several technical issues that made for a frustrating experience. At the end we found out that there should have been a blacklight in the room. There were at least two clues that couldn’t be solved without it. One of which was turning on the lights and so we had to attempt the whole thing in the dark. Two other puzzles were malfunctioning. While we still had a good time, it was a disappointment to find out that we wasted so much time just because the right tools weren’t available.

Compared to previous escape rooms Ive done, this one was pretty disappointing. There wasnt much in the room to begin with, which made it less interesting to explore. We had to use a clue to make the person running it realize that the room wasnt completely reset, as they slid the last thing we needed under the door after telling us where it was supposed to be. Our second clue went into a clue that was worn away to the point of being unreadable. Many of the solutions and tools given didnt match the theme very well either. Not up to the quality of other escape rooms Ive done.

This place rocks! Great customer service and reasonable prices! A great family adventure with lots of fun puzzles! Lots if fun and highly recommend for a fun activity, especially tweens and teens! We want to try the other room next time!

I played with some friends who booked the room for my birthday celebration. When we arrived no one was in the lobby. An employee finally showed up and kept telling us over and over again that he would be right back to start us. Finally after starting we went on to play a very mediocre room. Was certainly not worth the price being charged. Disappointing!!

We went here for our company Christmas party and the owner, Elicia, was helpful in our booking ahead of time. It was good for our age ranges of 16-60 but I think this particular escape room is geared towards younger players. If you have never done an escape room before this place will be good; however, there are still some kinks in their system. The website is slow and doesnt always load, some of the clues in the room(s) dont work which set our team back by minutes, and its down an alley thats hard to find in the dark. We still had a good time.

Had a great escaped with 1:14 mins left on the clock with my brother his wife and my wife and these 2 ladies fun and great way to be social and meet new people

I am posting an updated review due to my experience on Tuesday. The south location was complete night and day from our first experience. staff was great and the room was a lot of fun. We had a less than positive experience last time but this time was great. We will be back.

Let me start by saying I do not recommend this place. This place is so disorganized! When we arrived there was no one at the desk. Then the guy emerged and said it would be a couple minutes. Then he reemerged and said that he had messed up something and it would be a few more minutes. I dont mind waiting but this was the beginning of the disaster. Then he tells us if we need a hint to say so and they would give us a hint. Well when we needed a hint no one answered. Then finally someone answered with a hint. Except it was the wrong hint. So was the next try. The next try. About 4 times until they knew where we were stuck. All while the clock ticks down. Then we get into the next room. This was a really poor excuse for a room. The UV light batteries were almost dead. The items you needed to see were desperately in need of replacement. You could barely read it. Then the smells were all wrong. Theres no way that we couldve gotten out. The stuff was incorrect. The one scent that was needed most didnt even smell like it should. Totally screwed. No one offered to fix it and give us more time. Just said you didnt finish have a good day. We even had the employee girl smell it and she was like oh I guess I need to put more scent in it. Such a waste of my money and time. I wont be going back. Not even for the discounted tickets. Dont go here. Go to A-Escape. At least they have their stuff together and theyre really friendly. Dont go here.

First time in an escape room. The Hangover room was fun and challenging. Had a little trouble with one lock but kept trying and got it to work. Escaped with about 7 minutes to spare. Definitely would recommend this.

Fun experience. Room definitely made us think. Manager gave us coupons to return bc of the amount of time we had left in our game when we finished. Will definitely return.

Pretty disgusted overall with our experience. There were 3 technical issues that prevented moving forward with the game and resulted in a significant amount of wasted time. Faulty wiring preventing a light coming on, a separate lightbulb that flickered off because of a poor connection, and painted numbers/symbols that were partially rubbed off. The room manager made no effort to look into the problem during the game to fix the problems we had. Since it is supposedly visible to them one might think she would have noticed our correct placement of the trigger mechanism and the lack of response from the gadget. Have had much better experiences at other game sites. If they can get those things fixed it would be helpful. :/

Love escape rooms but not this one. It had something to do with a mad scientist and started you out in the dark. Poor visibility made for a bad start. Unveiling one of the clues involved having to pour some liquid from one thing to another which is just a bad idea for an escape game. Some of the elements did not work properly. Would not recommend this venue.

I saw the negative reviews and dont really think they reflected at all on my experience. The room was a bit difficult at times, but if the clues were easy it wouldnt be fun. I did the chocolate factor and my biggest thing was I couldnt eat any candy. We were a group of 4 and made it out. Seems like a small space for more than that.As we were going in a group of teen girls were having a birthday, so it seems like minors can go in alone as a group, that would be a good birthday party.The hint system is the first Ive seen to start taking time off after 3 hints 3 minutes per hint. As always, they make sure everyone is ok with the hint first.

Terrible experience here... i drove from Charlotte NC, to do a couple escape rooms in Asheville, NC.. well we did the “Mad Scientist” room here... it started out ok,but when it came to putting the test tubes in the right hole, it didn’t work, so we moved on with the game. We didn’t escape which is cool we never do much lol.. I’ve done 25 escape rooms and its all about having fun!! Well the rude black haired young lady was like “well you guys had the tubes put in the right place , but for some reason it didn’t open the cabinet” well ok so thats a technicality on the escape room .. cause if it had worked right we would be a lot further into the game.. maybe even escaped it . The point in she was very rude about the situation.. i asked to speak to a manager about getting a refund or at least let us try another room free .. it wasn’t our fault that the room has technicalitys .. so the next day i got a hold of the manager/owner? I’m not sure who it was but she was nice and said we can try the victorian mansion getting ready to open at their new location on Hendersonville rd ... so im like yea that’s wonderful! My kids were excited. I called her last week and asked if we can try the victorian mansion next weekend, she said sure we will send u a promotional code via email.. well guess who didn’t get her promotional code!? Me .. the Victorian mansion is fully booked as of a couple days ago. Why promise a customer something than not do it? Bad way to run a business especially the kind of business that depends on word of mouth. The location is sketchy .. it’s down a dark alley. Best place in Asheville for escape rooms is “A-escape”. Bottom line is , (Escape Out) is a poorly ran escape room with technicalities and rude staff!

Did the Western. Failed, but it was due to the radio signal sounding bad. Even the worker admitted it. The first one we were originally supposed to do suffered from audio malfunctions. Tried to use too many electronics to make things work.
