I always love my bike rides or walks along this Trail. Theres something serene and divine all at the same time. My sister and I went in one direction on the day we wanted to end our bike ride near a coffee shop for breakfast, and the next day we went the opposite direction to go through more wooded area of the trail. Ive ridden this Trail in Arlington, Fairfax and Herndon and it is always beautiful.

Ran this trail before the New York Marathon. Like any Great trail, it still depends on the weather and wether you like it or not. You can go 21kms one way if you like. There is a brewery along the trail and the small town atmosphere is there. Local cyclists and runners

This trail is perfect for biking, walking, running, and roller skating!!I made a lot of memories with my family bike riding this trail. You get to see a lot of nature and encounter some food stores along the way.If you are out at night, be sure to bring a flashlight or light source since most of the the trail doesnt have streetlights. Also watch out for deer in the evening too.

Great trail. Connects with Four mile run on the other side of the road which connects to the Mount Vernon trail if you are going to Alexandria or into DC. Going west it connects with the Custis trail or you can go all the way to Purcellville. There are occasional road crossing but Arlington, Falls Church and Fairfax have been working to minimize the number and size of the crossings.

Great bike trail that is very well maintained. Water fountains available in the warm months. Need a break plenty of places to grab a bite to eat along the trail. Beware the super pro road warriors who can be *&%#$ to the mere mortals out exercising on their trail .

Part of the regional Park system, this trail along the path of an old railroad route runs from Arlington to Harpers Ferry. The trailhead has a guide to the trail, postings for community recreation events, and a water fountain for people and dogs. This is Mile 0, and the trail runs west. You can also find the Four Mile trail across Shirlington DR, which runs both east and west. There is plenty of street parking along Four Mile Run Drive. Great, popular start for your biking, walking, and running recreation.
