Nice park. Hidden shaded parking lot. Lots of picnic tables and places to fish. No restrooms. Mostly shaded trail but it can get really muggy and have lots of mosquitos.

We stopped here on October 6th, 2018 .The sign at the entrance has been smashed apart by vandals, so being the only vehicle at a hidden-from-view parking area, to be left while we were hiking away, didn’t feel safe.I have a legitimate interest in the history of the area and want to explore it as it is intended. It was uncomfortably hot and mosquitoes began to attack, so I will wait until after the first freeze , to return.January 21st, the freeze two days ago has assured us of a more sterile, insect-free experience. It was a perfect day for walking the dogs and riding bikes, as well as exploring the layout of this area. There were several other like-minded enthusiasts making use of this local treasure.

Nice short trail that leads to a longer trail. If you drive there dont take valuables. Break ins happen.

Excellent park! Bike trails are nice and wide, a nice creek runs through it, and plenty of benches and spacious picnic areas with large BBQ pits. Dogs are allowed, leashed of course. I highly recommend insect spray though, the mosquitos will eat you up!

I like this park. There is some beautiful nature tucked away here, a decent little walk, and a place to do some catch and release fishing. (Dont eat the fish)Brought my kids, 3 and 8 year-old boys, here and they had a good walk spotting a couple of snakes (including a copperhead well away from the hiking path), and we saw some interesting birds and bugs.

Great park ...when its open. The sign at the main entrance said Closed due to flooding People were walking through the park and riding bikes. I went from the main entrance to its merge with the linear park. NO FLOODING. There was some small debris on the pavement, but NO FLOODING. No dangerous tree limbs etc. Sign since changed to CLOSED. Arlington parks dept usually does a good job. Im sure there is a good explanation. But, people were comfortable using the trail. One gentleman was fishing from the bridge near the linear park merge. I was visiting, hopefully it has reopened.

Good park to run with lots of trees and a few not-too-steep hills. Only about one mile, but ties into the larger trail system so you can go for long runs.

Very nice place to walk, take photos and listen to the wind in the trees. Lots of bikeriders and dog walkers, all of who are pleasant and considerate of each other. The trees make the most lovely music when the wind is blowing like it was on our visit. I wish we could still read the historical marker explaining the significance if the park.

Nice place for picnicking, walking, running and cycling. The one mile trail through the park connects to the Village Creek Trail that goes all the way to TX360. There are several areas with picnic tables and one large open area clearing. At night the animals come out and youll see rabbits and armadillos very often. There are no restrooms and no water fountains.

Probably the best small walking park in West Arlington.Walking path begins in the parking lot off Dottie Lynn, runs through a neighborhood and under meadowbrook to a sidewalk that runs continuously along Green Oaks to the entrance of the River Legacy Park South.

vs
Review №52

It has scenic walking and bicycle trail that is long enough, extending on to residential path ways, with trees and a river meandering around. Pets on leash are allowed with poop bags available and access to the river for pets to drink water. No bathrooms and water fountains ,so bring your own drinking water. Saturday afternoons and evenings are good times for walking as it is almost empty. Kids venture down to the river as it is not steep. After a heavy rainfall the park is closed until the flooded river subsides, so please call the park authorities to see if its open
