They now have signs up that says pets cannot be on fields which is a shame as it’s fun to allow your dog to run off leash and catch the ball. Complaints came from the baseball teams that play. Definitely will be making a complaint about this as they should accommodate everyone and build a dog park. Us dog owners have dogs versus playing on a useless baseball team that becomes annoying at night from hearing all the yelling!

Went to vote today. Line moved at a good steady pace. The ppl were very helpful and right there if you needed anything. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. As a disabled person everyone there made it easy for me to navigate to and in the voting booth and with submitting my ballot. Lots of smiles and pleasant, polite poll workers!

Its a very nice park . I would go when and this pandemic is over. But the thing I dont understand Everybody I saw out there they had no mask on people are really not taking this covid 19 serious. After skating, playing tennis everybody breathing on each other. . I wonder how many more new cases Arlington will have? I sat in the car with the windows up..

I took my 10 year old son here for the first time tonight. We wont be going back. The park itself is nice. Lots of great ramps, transitions, and mix of ramp/bowl vs street. The problem was with the skaters. There was trash everywhere. The trashcan itself was broken. The kids there, a couple in their early 20s, some teenagers, and one kid who was probably 10-11, were incredibly vulgar. The youngest kid had such a foul mouth he cussed nearly every other word (being cool, I imagine). The other kids werent quite as bad, but were roughly the same. Especially with the music they were playing. My son was disgusted by then and wanted to leave. I completely agreed. It was unfortunate that such a great park was ruined this way. Trust me, I was one of those kids once myself. I had zero regard for others, respect for property, or other worthy character attributes. I knew it wouldnt help say anything so the only option is to avoid the park altogether. Total bummer.

Large spacious park with various amenities. skateboard and bike friendly. I would mention rollerblading but Im the only person in the state with a pair. cool foliage and interesting variety of birds for those who like the feathery friends. the creek is bordered by beautiful flowering plants and there are several scenic spots to stop for a picnic. they even have horseshoe pits set up at the north end....although I think that is technically another park on paper even though I dont see a line anywhere.

If youre looking for a skate park, a playground, or sports fields, this is a great place for those things. There are even a couple of covered pavilions for events. But if you want a nice, natural shaded place to walk around and enjoy nature, this is not that kind of park. It is predominantly wide open grassy fields. The pavilions are strategically located to give you shade while you supervise your kids on the playground or at the skate park, but dont come in expecting to find a nice bench under a tree somewhere where you can meditate in nature.

This park is named after the Vandergriff Family. Although not a founding family, they helped shape modern-day Arlington into what it is today.Vandergriff Park is a sprawling site. The site includes Vandergriff Park, the Bob Duncan Center (for events), and Marrow Bone Spring Park. Inside the area are baseball / softball fields, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a skatepark, walking / biking trails, a pavilion, picnic areas, large fields for enjoyment, public art, and local history. It’s a diverse area. While in the park, look for the Vandergriff “V” -- it’s blue and 30 feet tall, so it shouldnt be hard to miss. (It’s between the skatepark and swimming pool if you need a hint.) The giant V used to be at the Vandergriff Chevy Dealership, formerly located at the corner of Collins and Division Streets in present-day downtown. There’s an informative sign near the foot of the V telling a little about the Vandergriffs, but the sign itself could use a facelift. If you’re into local history, take the short walk to Marrow Bone Spring Park. It’s north of the tennis courts and skatepark, past the bordering residential street of Timberview Lane. There’s a Texas Historical Marker there at Johnson Creek. While not one of my favorite parks, it’s a nice place and offers a little something for everyone.

What is there not to love about this park?! It is so huge and has so much grass area, you can do everything from birthday parties to football games with the family! We go because of the skatepark, my daughter is a huge skater! Also, they have a huge public swimming pool off to one side of the park that is only $3.50 a person! Thats one of the lowest prices in town with one of the cleanest and nicest pools around! Also, the bonus is the track that goes all around the park for runners and joggers and walkers!

Real nice park close by to SHHS (2mi)! The walking loops are wide, the grass is trimmed. I think there’s an old cross country course in it, so the grass area and walkways are perfect for running. The walkway itself is not shaded, but there’s trees you could set up picnics under. Skate park, baseball fields, and tennis courts open to public as far as I know. Bone Marrow trail branches off to the right of the park—it’s a small section but there’s plenty of shade there.

Good park for the surrounding community. Tennis courts in good shape and not crowded most of the time. Nice walking/jogging path with benches and shade. 1 lap is right at a mile distance and terrain changes presents two different courses depending on which direction you follow the loop. Havent used pool or rec center but those are there as well. Some grass areas can be a little uneven so you have to watch your ankles. Havent used playground or skate park but they appear to be nice as well.
