We have two daughters, ages five and seven. At Hot Ground Gym they get a good work out but don’t even realize they are exercising because they are focused on the obstacle course tasks. These classes safely challenge the kids to try things they normally wouldn’t get to try: climbing over walls, running up ramps, climbing ropes, etc. Sam does an amazing job breaking down the ever-rotating obstacles into separate skills and then training those skills and muscle groups. My daughters are growing in confidence and resilience. We are so glad to have found HGG!

Great place for children to learn physical, mental and character development. My boys absolutely LOVE coming to class! They have so much fun learning and challenging theirselves, they would stay for hours at a time if they could! I highly recommend having your child give it a try! You wont be disappointed!

My 7 years old son just recently had his birthday celebration at the Hot Ground Gym in Arlington Heights, IL. The owner Sam went above and beyond to make sure everything is going smoothly! He provided everything we asked for, was extremely helpful and super super super friendly! He even called us a few times before the party to double check if everything is on the schedule and if there is anything else he could do for us before the party starts. Amazing service, super clean gym, available sanitizers, masks, you name it! Wonderful classes that every single child attending the party loved and said ‘this was the best party they have ever been to’’!Highly recommended and we know for sure where our next kids party is taking place! My son loves this place. All of the instructors are former military. They spend half their time doing calisthenics. The other half of the time they do a creative activity involving team work. For instance one day they did squats and box jumps the first half. Then for the second half they stacked three wooden boxes on top of each other. Then the kids had to work together to stack a box with a kid on it on top of the other three. I was skeptical they would be able to but they did. My son is always eager to come here.

Excellent place for my son to burn off energy, grow confidence, learn new skills and teamwork. My son loves going there! The facility is spacious and clean. Sam and his staff are the absolute best!

We found Hot Ground Gym (HGG) by accident because of my daughter’s interest in Parkour or Ninja-type obstacle course activities, kind of like the American Ninja Warrior tv show. There are two aspects to HGG’s approach that made this place a great choice for our child’s after-school activities: 1) classes offer far more than a fun, physical after-school activity where the kids get to burn energy by climbing, jumping, swinging on ropes, etc; and 2) while the kids are “playing” they’re also learning about teamwork, confidence, cooperation, responsibility, leadership and problem-solving skills. That is the backbone of this whole company which is run by veterans—teaching kids very important life skills during the classes through the different activities. Other important details which factored into our decision choosing HHG included: 1) small class size; 2) individualized attention; 3) beautiful new facility that is very clean; and 4) very reasonable rates for classes. We started our child at 1 time per week but are moving up to 2 times per week since she loves it so much.

Hot Ground Gym is a fantastic place for children to grow both physically and mentally. My daughters have started taking classes here and the weekly curriculum is outstanding for strength, confidence and team building. We recently hosted a birthday party here for my 8 year old and it was phenomenal. Well organized from start to finish. Sam and Evan did an incredible job directing and encouraging 18 girls through several obstacles and team building exercises. All of the kids had an excellent time. I would highly recommend this place. You can’t go wrong.

Hot Ground is an amazing program for kids of all ages. Sam is excellent with constant new challenges. The kids are exhausted after each class and always want more. We started out with just one visit a week and after the first week, switched to 2. My son is definitely more focused and disciplined after only a month. We use the classes as incentives for him to achieve better days in school. He loved the day off camp his only wish was that he did the full day vs half.

We had my sons 9th birthday party yesterday. It was awesome private party place which is nice and clean.What impressed me most was Sam, party leader. He has great authority made kids good listeners also had so much fun too. I highly recommend who is looking for party place. My son was happier ever.

My Daughter loves this place. She has learned so many new skills and good things from this place. They teach them so much more than obstacle courses they teach them team work and respect. I just left Hot Ground Gym after an awesome team building event that I scheduled for my daughters’ Indian Princess program. Sam was amazing. He connected with the girls and got them moving, thinking, problem solving and working together. He kept them engaged and smiling which is not always easy for girls ages 5-12. Well done Sam and well done Hot Ground Gym. I would definitely recommend Sam and the gym if you are looking for a great event for groups sized 10-30.I know they do birthday parties there as well which I am sure would be great!

AMAZING! We just had our son’s 7 year old birthday there yesterday. I would highly recommend. Not only did I not have to worry about anything but they taught the children about teamwork, discipline and hard work. They handed out the pizza for us and they even had my son cut his cake with a sword (with supervision of course)!! The staff were so good with the kids, attentive, caring and effective. They made my son feel special on his birthday and that is an invaluable feeling as a parent. I would recommend Hot Ground Gym to anyone.To all the staff members at Hot Ground Gym, great job and thank you for you service! We just had a fantastic birthday party here for our 7 year old twins. Everything from start to finish was seamless, and Sam especially made it so easy for us to host 30 first graders for a drop off party. The kids had a blast with all of the activities - and the best part was that our party was different from a friends party just a few weeks prior. We fell in love so much that we signed our kids up for weekly classes - and each week is different which my kids adore. Hot Ground Gym is super clean and a very friendly and warm environment with incredible instructors - it is run with discipline and order in a kind and respectful way. Cannot say enough good things!

An amazing place for kids! My son has taken classes here and just loves it. Recently we had his birthday party at HGG and all of the party guests were engaged and had a great time, even the shyest ones. It is amazing to see what Sam and his team do every day for the kids. Every week they have a different concept / theme.My daughters self confidence has improved a lot. This has been an amazing experience for my son (9). Each session the kids are challenged while building confidence, self control, discipline and teamwork. We just celebrated my sons 6th birthday party at Hot Ground Gym in Arlington Heights and it was a huge success! Sam was awesome with the kids and trust me, these are wild five and six year olds! However, he kept them engaged the whole time and had a few neat tricks up his sleeve to make the birthday boy feel special. It was also nice to be able to just show up about 20 minutes before the party started and know everything was taken care of. I just had to supply the cake and minimal party decorations. I would definitely recommend Hot Ground Gym for your next birthday party of event!

My daughter couldnt have been happier at her party at the Arlington Heights location. Sam was extremely nice and walked me through the process. I literally did not have to life a finger, which was a nice relief. We moved here nearly a year ago, and started our son shortly after the move. Since then, he has grown in confidence, independence, compassion, trust, and respect. He has the diagnoses of ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, and anxiety. He hasn’t had a single tantrum since his third week with Sam at Hot Ground. He is kinder, more respectful, and genuinely wants to have better and more meaningful relationships with peers. The teamwork and relationship model offered here is unique in that the kids depend on any random group as the class days vary. The outward focus seems to be physical development, but the true focus is mental, social-emotional, and community growth.Sam absolutely loves the kids as they are, wherever they are, and is building up each person as that individual needs to be built up. He is a true gem, and my son looks forward to each class, excited about each one.

We love everything about Hot Ground Gym! Our son has been attending weekly classes there for six months. He was apprehensive at first about this new experience, but Coach Sam assured and encouraged him and he now loves attending each week! Sam creates a fun and exciting environment while still insisting on (and earning) respect and cooperation. We love the ways he teaches practical life skills in the midst of giving the kids fun obstacle course challenges.This weekend, we hosted our son’s sixth birthday party at HGG and it was a HUGE hit! We had our daughters 9th birthday here and it was outstanding from start to finish. Every single girl loved the experience they provided. My son struggles with ADHD, anxiety, and sensory sensitivities so I was nervous about enrolling him in Hot Ground Gym. It turns out that my concerns were completely unnecessary! Sam Simpson, the General Manager and Junior Boots Instructor, is amazing. Each week, Sam works with my son and the other members of Alpha Company to develop confidence, courage, discipline, and leadership. Sam offers endless patience and gentle motivation, even when my son is feeling especially nervous or overwhelmed. I cannot say enough positive things about Sam and Hot Ground Gym!

This place is truly awesome! Great for children to interact with one another, to learn to work together to complete tasks. My son is a huge fan, We did the summer camp this year and it was filled with so many activities, he came home tired and with fun stories! (Nerf gun Battles/Water Parks/ Apparently my son prefers Sams grilling skills than mine/the Beach / Obstacle courses). The instructors are amazing with the kids, they motivate each child to achieve their best, if they see a child struggle or afraid of doing an activity, they provide one on one and walk them through it, this empowers the child and enables the child to realize that even through things might be scary, they are achievable and you can see on that kids face after they faced that fear and receive that support from teammates. Its nice to have a place where the kids are encouraged to be themselves and support one another. Thank you guys for providing a great Summer experience for Zak!!!

We were very excited that Hot Ground Gym offered a camp session for Good Friday. It gave our son the opportunity to spend the day learning new skills and being active.We love Hot Ground Gym! We have seen a big change in our son over the course of the last couple of months. All of the instructors are great with him and have taught him so much! He is learning to work with other kids as part of a team, to be a good listener and be respectful.

Our recently minted 6 year old had his bday party here, and it was a blast!! Sam did a great job coordinating the event, all the kids had a lot of fun and were absolutely exhausted by all the activity. I was most impressed by how they incorporated a lot of teamwork into the event. Our son cannot wait to get back.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! These are the first words quoted words by my two sons who spent a day actively running, climbing, going through obstacle courses, and working as a team with a whole group of kids they have never met before.It can be challenging to find activities that are safe, engaging, and age appropriate for two very active boys during no school days and its too cold outside to enjoy nature. Hot Ground Gym in Arlington Heights was recommended to us by a friend and her son. After one full day of high energy fun, my sons (ages 10 and 8) are already planning ahead for their next days off of school and asking to be signed up at HGG. They raved about Sam, the manager, and how hes knowledgeable sharing safety lessons and tips to the kids. Knowing Sam has a background in being a first responder and an Army Veteran, I feel very secure dropping off my sons knowing that activities are planned with safety in mind.From a parent stand point, this is the highest compliment to HGG! They are choosing to climb, run, lift, partner up with kids they dont know, and accept challenges to physical activities instead of begging to play video games, go to the movies, or watch tv! They will be repeat attendees for sure and I know I wont hear any, I dont want to go... whining from them!

My daughter went to the Arlington Heights HGG school closed day on 9/30/19. This was her 2nd time there. The 1st time was for a birthday party. She LOVED the day!!! She says the Zombie game was her favorite. She was a little nervous when she got there. Sam was so welcoming and sweet to her. Wow. What an awesome birthday party Sam and his helper Evan led for my 7 year old daughter and 17 of her friends! I cant rave enough about how great everything was; and the best part was that I didnt have to do a thing except show up. The girls had so much fun doing obstacles involving climbing, crawling, flipping, and more...all the while building trust and confidence in each other and themselves. My daughters favorite part was when she was lifted and carried in a canoe by her friends. She also loved the obstacle that began with flipping over a hanging bar (which she was afraid of at first, but Sam helped her overcome that fear within seconds). We will definitely be back! My son cant wait for his birthday now, too! HIGHLY recommend this place!

I was so excited, when I got an email, about registering Ian for Hot Ground Presidents Day camp. Days off of school, usually mean a full day of TV watching, and junk food at Grandmas, so the option of having him, hang with friends, participate is lots of action packed fun, was an awesome alternative. He LOVED it! He was so excited to tell me all about the knife throwing, and Archery, and the fun team works activities that he did. He was active and busy all day, by the time I picked him up, he was spent! We love Hot Ground, and look forward to enrolling Ian any camps they have in the future!!!

Best kids program ever. BEST Summer Camp EVER. My son Martin loves it. He was at HGG Summer Camp for 8 weeks and he grew up so much. He became more confident , organized, strong mind and body, he learn archery, knife throwing, defense , working in team and so much more..... We love Hot Ground! Our son has been a member since the AH location opened a year ago. In that time we’ve seen his strength, endurance & confidence all increase! The instructors are all amazing with the kids! So refreshing to have such positive, male role models leading them. Our son just celebrated his birthday party at Hot Ground and we highly recommend it for any kid. The instructors took care of everything from the moment we walked thru the door. All the guests had a great time & participated in all activities (even the littlest & most timid)!

Our boys, 7 and 10, did the HGG Leadership Summer camp for the month of June. They had a lot of fun learning to work together with others, be leaders, be accountable (at least there) and experience drills, obstacle courses, and other activities not offered at other camps. They liked going to the lake once a week. The boys came home tired!

My son had a wonderful 6th Birthday party at Hot Ground Gym. It was the most efficient, organized and sweaty party weve ever had! The kids had a blast on the obstacles and working together as a team. This is a great place for kids to use up some energy in a great way, to conquer some of their fear and learn new things and skills (like archery, teamwork, leadership, rope climbing). The classes are a very nice mixture of physical activity and skill learning and the kids love it. The teams running the gym also seem to genuinely love interacting with the kids and teaching them. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great activity for kids.

Hello everyone! My 8.5 year old daughter has been attending the Arlington Heights location for about a year now. She absolutely loves it! I stay and watch every class, and I couldnt be more proud of the skills she is learning. She is pretty athletic, but shy and quiet at the same time. Since she has been enrolled, Ive really seen her confidence level change for the better! Being in the safe environment and learning skills out everyday lifestyle, has helped complete the human she is today. We also love the teachable moments of respect, teamwork, and discipline. Marty has been the operations manager since we started and is absolutely fabulous. I cant say enough wonderful things about hot ground gym. Have your child try it, and Im sure you wont leave disappointed.

My boys (ages 11 and 7) go to HGG every week and they LOVE the missions Sam and James develop. Ive seen an increase in their physical and mental strength over the time weve been going and the boys have made new friends as well. We also did a Good Friday Camp recently and appreciated the fact that 8-hour or 4-hour camps are available on days the kids have off school to accommodate working parents (and overstretched Easter brunch hosts too!)

My son is always excited to attend the Arlington Heights location and participate in so many variant activities, the activities contribute to self confidence, discipline, coordination and leadership skills. As a parent this was one of the most disappointing places I attended for a birthday party. My daughter has been crying ever since attending today. She was approached by one of the staff members (bald guy) who told her she couldn’t participate due to age while I was signing in. He decided to tell her and not me as the parent. Unprofessional and unacceptable.Giving her a pink balloon wasnt the answer. You should be ashamed of yourself.Thank goodness I was able to hold face for my son to participate and not ruin the party for our dear friends son but I am not happy with how things were handled.

This place is great! We took the free trial class and my kids liked it so much that we signed up on the spot! They get a great workout while learning useful life skills. Every week is different and new, the kids simply cannot wait to go there! Joey and his assistants are very friendly and pay a lot of attention to their students. Highly recommend this place!!!

Instructors are great and the skills offered are very helpful for the class. Very unique learning opportunities offered here at Hot Ground Gym (HGG). From basic fitness exercises and warm-ups into obstacle course runs all wrapped into fun mission based, goal-driven lessons with intros/briefings and end-of-class cool-downs/debriefings. Every week is a different course layout due to the (re)configurable gym environment. Unique skills are reinforced with team-building and partner-based safety-first exercises such as: rope climbing, rope bridges, basic first-aid, medical body-carry, fire safety, archery... This includes sharpening multi-sensory training and combined physical/cognitive/psych developmental exercises helping build a more comprehensive experience. Birthday parties offered here are great too! Everyone had a great time. Full and half day camps have also been great. Camps in the summer and winter have great indoor and outdoor events. The latest offering that opens full and half day camps with school closings is very helpful for both parents and children. Thank you HGG Team!

We did our 9 year old daughters birthday party at Hot Ground Gym and her friends had a great time. They were able to work together as a team and found out that they could do things that they didnt think possible. From the obstacles to the missions, the party was a hit! My daughter’s 11th birthday was a big hit! You have to be creative in order to hold the attention and interest of kids this age and the Arlington Heights staff did an awesome job! Everyone were excited from start to finish and they loved the challenge of going through all those obstacles. Unlike other parties where kids to their things in different groups, with their own buddies, the activities at Hot Ground teach and enforce team work and everyone’s just so focused in a positive way. I’m sure this is a party they’ll surely remember!Are we returning you ask? Definitely! We even enrolled our daughter, on the spot, to participate in their programs. I believe what they do in the “Gym” teaches some important life lessons and I’m all for that. In this day and age, it’s important to equip our kids with as much skills to help them blossom in the outside world.Do I recommend for parties? Absolutely! Everything went smoothly and we, the parents, don’t have to do a thing! They take care of everything from the moment we step in. The eating area is already setup and when it’s time to eat, they serve the pizza and cake that we brought and even helped load up our stuff, gifts and all, to the car. Can’t get the level of service anywhere.AWESOME job y’all and thanks a lot!

We absolutely LOVE Hot Ground Gym!!!! Everything!!!! From the activities to the discipline to the teamwork....every single aspect of this place is amazing and all former military which I have mad respect for and appreciate the time they served and dedicated. The guys there are true leaders and great role models....so respectful and kind and incredible with all the kids. We highly recommend this place for boys or girls. It’s very American Ninja Warrior with its military obstacles and my 4 yr old son begs me to go every day. I love seeing his confidence and excitement when he is done “training”.

If you are looking for a fun, unique place to have your childs birthday party, look no further. We just hosted my daughters 7th birthday here and couldnt be happier with Hot Ground Gym in Arlington Heights. The kids were captivated by the instructors and were fully attentive the entire hour and a half. The staff was amazing!They had the kids work together through different obstacle courses and had some special team building activities for the birthday girl where here friends had to work together to hold her up. Although some of the obstacles were difficult, I feel that they did a great job of focusing on how to safely execute each challenge. My daughter said that she was nervous during one of the activities but that the instructors made her feel safe and helped her to overcome her fear. This was a great experience and we plan to have our kids sign up to take some of the team building classes. Their summer camps and winter camps also look amazing. To top it off it is great to support a veteran founded business.

My son loves the classes and was sooo looking forward to winter camp. It exceeded his expectations!! While he had a blast, as a mom i appreciate the balance of fun, challenging activities (the “missions”) with team-building exercises, self-defense training, and character building. I really cannot say enough about HG, it has made my kiddo love exercise and develop physically and mentally!

The staff was caring, led the entire group with detailed instructions, physical support when needed, and verbal encouragement. The group leader(s) connected with my son, walked him through the activities planned, and changed the layout when he became nervous about a particular obstacle. The cake cutting was the best part! I would recommend Hot Ground Gym... so glad I found you guys:)!

Our kids love Hot Ground Gym! We recently had our sons birthday party at the Arlington Heights location and they were amazing! The guys went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a wonderful time. I cant imagine a better birthday party then we just experienced.

We have had an amazing experience at the new location in Arlington Heights. My son REALLY enjoyed being a part of this program where he is physically and mentally challenged. I love the staff, everyone from Paul the co-owner to Joey their lead teacher at this location. Its organized and fun. My son looks forward to it every week. And I love their motto of building teamwork skills

I cant say enough wonderful things about Hot Ground Gym! My son absolutely loves going and loves the teachers. He has fun and gets great physical activity plus learns teamwork, respect, listening skills, and so much more. I highly recommend trying Hot Ground Gym if you havent already!!!

Refreshing format that gets kids thinking and doing!

Just came from birthday party where my child was afraid and wouldnt try one of the skills so was made to sit out for the rest of the first half of the activities. The whole toughlove thing, but it backfired. It was a birthday party, not a class we signed up for. She just wanted to see her friend and ended up crying and being told she couldnt play. So unnecessary.

My kids love this place. It strengthens them for their sports and its a great time. I even love to watch them. They have definitely become a lot stronger in the last few months.

Exceptional customer service, friendly staff, fabulous challenging course for the kids! We had an 11th birthday party here and he kids had a great time. I would HIGHLY recommend this facility for birthday parties.

This place is AWESOME!! Both of my children (young girl in Bravo and older boy in Charlie) LOVE it!! My daughters teachers and friends notice a huge difference in her and she smiles and credits Hot Ground Gym for the change! I wish they had opened sooner!! Awesome place, my kids love this place more than everything

My kids did the winter camp at hot ground and liked it so much! Fun activities, awesome coaches and a great work out. Unfortunaly we have already other plans for MLK but for the summer the kids are asking already to sign them up for the camp.

My daughter loves coming each week! Its really helping build her confidence and her overall strength.

We had a blast hosting our son’s 7th birthday here. Not only was it super easy, thanks to the helpful staff, but also our guests enjoyed the birthday party so much, some ended up signing up their kids for the programs they offer. We personally had a great experience and would host again here in the future. One thing I’d like to note is that all guests need gym shoes (something easily forgotten as most are used to being in socks at other birthday party venues) and the host needs to provide water for all guests (common sense but needs to be noted). I don’t remember this info in their welcome email, but maybe I missed it.

My son loves his weekly visits to hot ground gym in arlington heights, they help him build confidence and team building skills. He had a blast at the summer camp. I originally signed him up for 2 weeks and then he asked me for the last week as well.

We have been bringing our seven-year-old son to Hot Ground Gym for several months now, and we couldn’t be happier.First of all, he loves it. We sought out HGG mainly for child development reasons, but that doesn’t change the joy it brings us to see our son so happy there. Even after a long day of school and other demands on his time, he always wants to go.Most importantly, though, we’ve seen a lot of development in a relatively short time. His confidence has grown, and he’s shown development in his listening skills and ability to work in teams. His leadership skills are still a work in progress, but he did recently advance to a higher “rank,” and it’s easy to see a path forward where he would fully embrace leadership responsibility.My wife and I have also noticed that, with the instructors being military vets and first responders (and, regardless of that, just really stand-up guys), it is nice for our son to have such positive male role models in his life. Veterans Day was a little more meaningful this year for our son since he now considers a former Marine amongst his friends (one of the instructors who has made a particularly strong impression on him).HGG is so much more than just a fun obstacle course. The instructors clearly put the childrens development above all else. They’ve created a culture that is incredibly positive while at the same time demanding; they won’t let your child get away with anything less than his or her best effort, but they will also make sure your child leaves feeling loved and respected. I only wish we had found HGG sooner.

Very good place for kids to practice!

Best place for kids full energy 5years old and up, we celebrated our son 6th birthday party every kid had so much fun, Paul and Chris did a great job, you can see how much they love what they do and they do this really and really well!!! Thanks for making this day more special!

Called to ask for more details about a program that my husbands son was enrolled in since we were unaware of the testing and it was occurring during a time when he stays with us. I was very clear that I was not his mother and we were trying to understand the time and expectations. In turn the owner then called to tattle to my husbands ex wife that I called asking questions. Last i checked- asking questions was legal and shouldnt be considered weird. Based on this unprofessional interaction alone I wouldnt spend a penny at this place.
