Probably great for families, but definitely not a quiet place for couples.- When we arrived our cabin smelled horribly of curry. We were given air fresheners. We kept the windows open as much as possible, but being November that was difficult to handle. I really feel like management should have done more to ensure the cabin was ready for guests or booked us in another available cabin (several appeared empty). It still stunk when we checked out.- Theres no maid service AND you are required to run the dishwasher and bag/remove all your trash when you check out. This is sort of laughable considering the price of the cabins.- The pod we stayed in was outdated. RED pleather seats/couch. The sliding door often stuck and had to be forced open/closed. The lock on the door was also finicky and took several tries to lock/unlock. The toilet and seat both wobbled and didnt feel secure. The bedroom door would not shut. The shower head sprayed in all directions.- The pods are extremely loud. Not only do you hear your neighbors, but you feel them too, as walking creates vibration of the entire dock.- Having said ALL of that, this is probably a great destination for families who are used to loud noises and wobbly toilets and things that just dont work right because they have a bunch of kids. But we were looking for a quiet couples retreat and this really wasnt it.- The cabins are close to the lodge, which was nice due to the restaurant at the lodge. And again this does seem like a great place for families in the summer.- Overall, I would recommend to families but not to couples. Also be aware that the pods are only slightly larger than an RV (for reference, not complaining). The rules seem overly strict and there are draconian signs all over the cabin warning you of immediate eviction and fines if you screw up. Kinda worried I might get fined for writing this review, lol. We had a good time, minus the issues and smell, but wont be back.

Unfortunately I needed to cancel my reservation with lake Murray Floating Cabins due to needing back surgery. So I called the Cabins and spoke with Brittany she told me that she would have to ask her manger Wendy what they could do to accommodate me. Instead I was told the only that they would issue a refund was under the contingency that they book that cabin. After I told Brittany that was unreasonable of them to require someone else renting that cabin in order to cancel with 3 weeks notice. She had her boss Wendy whom had a very bad attitude starting the call stated the same thing that her colleague just stated over like I didnt understand what Brittany told me. So beware these people are the least caring people with the worst attitudes.

She can barley get around right now and is in allot of pain. So we tried to cancel 3 weeks in advance and they wont let us. First they told us if they can rebook it then they would refund us. However this was over a week ago and they NEVER tried to rebook. I checked the site and it also says the cabin is booked. So how can they rebook somthing if noone knows its available. Then today we get an email stating they will cancel but not refund. We will be reporting to the credit card and BBB about this!

Lake Murray is beautiful even with the rain and cold! What was supposed to be a relaxing fishing weekend with cookouts turned into sniffling and shivering with unexpected rain. We stayed at Tipps Point and had water and electricity to keep from going completely neanderthal. Nevertheless, Id do it again any time in lieu of that obligatory work thing. The worst day looking at a pretty lake whipped to a frenzy with rain and wind while the fishing pole sits idly by beats the best day working! Or I think thats how the saying goes.

Wonderful Lakeside accomodation. Sleeps 8 people comforably. All around deck. Kiddo friendly, however you may want to bring an extra 100 ft. of rope to make a lower bar on the railing if you have littles. This helped prevent ours from going under the railing. Great fishing, caught a lot of catfish, sand bass, and 1 Walleye. You can park your watercraft right up to the cabin. Satelite T.V. & WiFi access. Balconies up stairs on both sides of the cabin. Picture is the lakeside balcony view at sunrise. Lots of people nearby if you are social, but semi private if you are not. Fun for the whole family.

We stayed here for a week over spring break in one of the Villas. The property was nice, quiet and well maintained. At check in the office staff was incredibly helpful, giving us a few ideas of things to do in the area. The cabin was very clean and the kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need for your stay (except the food of course). The beds are very firm (which is a personal preference) and I would recommend bringing your own pillow even though they do provide some just because theirs are flat. The couches were comfortable and there is plenty of space for 8 people in that cabin. If you have any water craft (including a kayak or paddle board) bring it! You wont be disappointed.During our stay we unfortunately had our A/C go out after hours. We called maintenance and they had someone out there within the hour to work on it. During the whole process the staff was in communication with us letting us know what was going on. I would highly recommend staying here and plan to do so again in the future!

I have to admit, I had a lot of fun. However, the cabin is very overpriced. Especially if you’re considering the quality of it. Our cabin cost over $600 for us to stay 1 night, and fit our 2 families. At any regular hotel we would need 3 rooms, and it would cost only $300 a night. Which is half the price, and a great deal considering the hotel would actually be of good quality. I understand that this is supposed to be a cabin, but if they’re going to be that ridiculous when it comes to pricing, the could’ve at least made the beds comfortable.

Great location and clean cabins--however it is very overpriced and you will have to deal with inflexible management rules. Most units are empty, yet they will not rent out by the night or explain why. There is a strict policy of a maximum amount of people in each cabin, however there are more sleeping spaces than people allowed. The villas can sleep 13 comfortably and allow a maximum of 8 people at any time. The website states that any other visitors are not allowed which rules out any social gatherings.Check-out procedures include (among other things) mopping the floors, vacuuming the house, and cleaning the bathrooms. The check-out document seems pretty strict and threatens further cleaning charges if everything isnt the way it was at the start. What are we paying for then?Management was also absent for the weekend. This place could be great if they made their visitors feel welcome.

Sister and I stayed in the floating cabins, Pod 7, from Monday June 18, 2018 to Thurs June 21, 2018. We have looked at these cabins for a few years but this was the year for our annual sister vacation to bite the bullet and try them. It was amazing. We will definitely be back. The pod was perfect for 2 people. Our neighbors were so friendly and courteous. We love that you can walk onto the porch and fish. The wild life around the lake is amazing. The moment you step out on the porch the ducks come to greet you and beg for food. The turtles are so pretty. We named a turtle Georgie and you can talk to them. When you say something to the turtles they will swim closer to the cabin and just watch you. They are so friendly. The lake was so clear that even after dark you can see the fish biting at your bait on your hook. It was so wonderful. If you need a place to just totally let go of all your worries and just relax, this is the place. We will be back. If you want a fantastic burger and fries, go to Burgers and Fries in Ardmore. Their burgers are so good and the shakes taste like they are made from homemade ice cream. Awesome food. The staff at the floating cabins is amazing and so friendly. Very nice lake, lovely floating cabin and staff that go out of their way to help you along with wonderful neighbors among the fishing community, what else do you need to relax? Nothing.

Boy were we glad we did!Meagan was very helpful with the entire process of booking the cabins and answering any questions we had. We booked the cabin that slept 8 as our husbands had a fishing tournament that weekend. We brought the boat and parked it in the slip. It was great! The cabin itself was very clean and nice. Pro: youre right on the lake, the scenery is beautifulCon: the pods are cramped. Dont believe the 4 occupancy advertised maximumPro: propane gas grill is great and convenientCon: as stated in some reviews they give you a note that states aggressively they will immediately evict you if you go over capacity. This gives off a seriously ominous vibe that hangs over the trip.Pro: feeding the wildlife that swims up to the cabin.Con: price. 200 bucks a night for an cramped cabin is ridiculous especially when earliest check-in time is 3pm and they still charge you for a full day. And dont even look on the holidays. Price goes way up.Pro: I guess this Pro isnt directly related to LMFC but the park is beautiful and has lots of things to do even if you dont own a boat. Theres lots of trails.Con: you really need a boat etc to take full advantage of the floating cabinsAll in all I had a good time but due to price and what you get for it I will not be going back to LMFC. I will be using their campgrounds instead.

Worst traveling experience Ive ever had. In fact, it was nothing short of bizarre. We had twelve people staying in the gazebo. Dana, one of the office staff members, stormed onto our deck unannounced one evening demanding to speak to the person who coordinated our stay. She quickly explained that there were more cars in the parking lot than allowed and suspected that we had more guests staying at the cabin that what was outlined in the rental agreement. After threatening to count heads and evict us, we took a quick inventory of who parked where and determined we had two vehicles parked in the lot that shouldnt have been there (the cabin sleeps 12, but you are only allowed 4 cars). We agreed to move the cars and did our best to reassure her that we did not break the rules intentionally. All of us understood her concern, but the manner in which she handled it was one of the most unprofessional, shocking displays of behavior Ive ever witnessed. She was aggressive, agitated, cursing, and disrespectful. At first, we were speechless...dumbfounded really. But then we were furious. Even her boyfriend tried to calm her during which time she told him to Shut the $uck up because you dont work here. It was just outrageous. We will NEVER stay here again, and I will do my best to inform others of this experience. Side note: we stayed here last year too. The staff was difficult to deal with then as well and conducted themselves with a general rudeness and condescension, but that paled in comparison to this. It was a disgrace to Lake Murray patrons, The City of Ardmore, and Oklahoma. Embarrassed and disappointed that our Texas guests experienced such belligerence.

Ive never been so disappointed and disrespected in all my life. Dana, the administrative assistant, ruined the evening for the entire party staying in the gazebo cabin. She was very aggressive, cursing at people, accusing us of breaking rules (we promptly moved our cars), and basically treating everyone terribly. She threatened to drown one of the girls in our party and even berated her boyfriend in front of everyone. Its almost as if she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Weve been coming here the last few years and we will not be returning next year unless there is some change in management. Nobody deserves to be treated this way especially those paying a premium for lodging such as this.

Review №78

Most unpleasant, unwarranted, and unsettling guest treatment EVER.... Despite inflexible policies regarding everything from number of guests, parking passes allotted (4 passes per a 12-guest cabin), to extensive check-out cleaning and duties, we booked the gazebo for a relaxing reunion with old friends for the second consecutive summer. Like last year, a few of our guests encountered staff with poor attitudes and snide comments/warnings upon check-in...but the cabin itself is the perfect venue, with more than enough room and charm for a great get-together.The second evenings events proved too much to overlook. Dana, a secretary at the lodge, came barging onto our back patio, so shockingly unprofessional in tone and conduct, I first thought a drunken stranger had wandered up with a fight in mind! It escalated quickly with a foul-mouthed, incorrect accusation of too many guests, followed by demanding that she might come through our cabin and conduct a head count! We were all in complete shock. We were not breaking ANY rules, hosting anyone other than our listed guests, or disturbing anyone (other than having two cars with no parking pass showing--an issue we immediately rectified)...but she continued with aggression, sarcasm, and threats of eviction. She pointedly cursed at several individuals in our group when they spoke up to defend our situation, and even screamed obscenely at the man who arrived with her, when he tried to calmly diffuse her rage.By the end of the altercation, while our offending cars were being moved from a half empty lot to overflow parking to suit her demands, her inappropriate conduct reached new heights with this verbatim comment about a guest in our group: You tell your friend shes lucky I didnt drown her. Whaaaat?!?! The whole situation ruined the lighthearted mood of the evening on the last night of our reunion, through NO fault of our own. Dana is actually lucky we didnt file a police report. To conclude, I would pitch a tent on a highway overpass before spending another red cent lodging here. For the second year in a row, our group endured disrespectful guest service and attitude, culminating with pure insanity on the final evening of our stay. At over $2000 a weekend for a cabin you already have to deep clean and dump all your own trash upon check-out, guest service should be top-notch. Danas erratic behavior on the job should be dealt with harshly, considering a literal physical threat to a guest, on top of her overall unprofessional and ridiculous behavior. To protect their reputation as well as their bottom line at what could be a fantastic destination, certainly management would not continue to employ someone like Dana. Until these issues are addressed, save your reunion (and some money) and stay at Medicine Park or Roman Nose State Park for your next Oklahoma vacation.

Review №79

The quiet, serene and idealistic cabins sit in stark contrast to the ownerships lengthy and archaic reservation process, the pages of rules they have in place and their highly unprofessional, impossibly difficult, obscene administrative assistant, Dana.We recently stayed in the large gazebo floating cabin with the maximum 12 people they allow. The last night of our stay, our group was settled on the deck having a peaceful and fun evening of fajitas and margaritas when this crazed woman, Dana, came exploding down our dock, cussing and wailing out the names of the people she was primed and ready to berate. We were immediately and violently accused of having more than the maximum number of occupants allowed in the cabin, but with absolutely NO evidence to back up her false claim. Still, she repeatedly threatened to throw us out on the street in the middle of the night and made sure to warn us that she had the park ranger on standby. We would have been more than happy to prove the number of people we had in our cabin met the standards, but Dana started with an unacceptable attitude, approached us aggressively yelling, screaming and directing every curse word imaginable at the majority of the 12 people who were in our cabin. Every single one of us felt gravely disrespected and violated while in our home for the weekend, a place that we paid top dollar to rent. Dana, while still on her warpath, went even further actually threatening to drown one of our friends in the lake, an outright aggressive (and completely unwarranted) threat, in which we could have filed charges over. After spending nearly 10 years around the hospitality market, I can honestly say I have never in my whole life experienced (or even heard of) any situation as vile as this. Needless to say, this womans actions put a damper on our entire evening. We were all in utter shock over the way we were directly attacked after having done absolutely nothing inappropriate to break their strict, boundless list of rules. Everyone that was witness to this outrage seemed to agree that this deranged woman was under the influence of some kind of drugs, due to the erratic instability she displayed while in our presence. I can honestly say, I went to bed in fear that this she would return to our cabin in the middle of the night. Sounds like a nice, safe, peaceful, fun family atmosphere doesnt it?We take a college reunion trip to Lake Murray Floating Cabins annually and every year the management has be condescending, argumentative, and generally difficult to deal with, but past years paled in comparison to this years unacceptable incident. I can say for certain that not a one of the 12 of us will every step foot on or even near Lake Murray Floating Cabins again, due to the direct aggression, utter disrespect and legitimate fear we experienced during our most recent visit. Save your money. Save your sanity.

The good: Clean, private, secure, gas grills, good off-season rates, and nice to park your boat at your door. When the owner used to run the place, he was very friendly and visited often. In the off-season, he would often give us even better rates and let us park our boat in a covered slip. Convenient wagons to transport your luggage, food, and stuff to your villa. Water quality is excellent. Some of the best scuba and snorkel water in the state. Fishing around select areas of the lake are excellent if your have a boat. The bad: GEESE hollaring ALL NIGHT LONG!!! Couldnt sleep at all. Fishing isnt all that great except for a couple of giant carp. Storms are a nighmare. These things rock and bang like crazy in very windy or stormy conditions. Almost all the convenience stores and cafes around the lake have closed, so you have to go to Ardmore to eat and shop. The only decent boat ramp around is the one at the marina. BE VERY CAREFUL. The only place to launch your boat is the far inner lane next to the loading pier. Ten feet out from the pier is a dropoff and you will lose your boat forever.
