Beautiful terrain. Lots of wildflowers and birds but the roads were washed out and had trees across them and the hiking trails were overgrown. We opted to hike on the road. Virtually deserted. We only saw 3 other vehicles while we were there, none passed us while hiking.

I absoulity love hiking here. There is no level ground here at all, which is the best part! Getting strength and cardio workouts at the same time is always the best!

The refuge is stunningly beautiful -- jaw dropping! Major kudos and sincere thanks to the staff for doing a great job with monetary resources that barely fill a thimble.

Great for drives with my fam. Plenty of chances to learn about nature. Just drive really slow and get out often.
