Gorgeous scenic views! One just needs to be prepared for any possible bear encounters!

It is an secret garden of water and trees just outside of the hustle of the city. It has nice boardwalk type trails as well as traditional dirt trails. Waterfalls and a view of the ocean. Pavilion wit bbq pit and nice tables to offer a good lunch spot. The host is very nice. Remeber there is no trash service so pack out what you pack in.

Great, uphill climb... BRING WATER, BUGS PRAY AND BEAR MACE!...a little precarious in some places... However, fantastic views

Great views and the micro climate here is so different than just across the road. Host Louise is friendly and helpful.

I like this trail head, you get right to the mountain and the view of the ocean is superb. Saw multiple moose droppings, so Im hoping to get a good pic. Went in January, needed spikes, windy at first but then, when you on the trail it dies down.

Beautiful to look out to the inlet, great for hiking and picnicking. Unfortunately theres a stat wide burn band so no BBQs. I can sit there and watch the waterfall all day.

Its a nice place with good hiking trails and a good picnic area.

Easy to find McHugh Creek Trailhead that connects to the Turnagain Arm Trail and continues to the McHugh Lake Trail.Bring a water, light jacket, and light pants. The lightweight clothing will help protect from the bugs and low overgrowth on the trail.Parking at McHugh Creek Recreation Area is $5 and there is no overnight parking. Gates close at 9 PM.
