Some well crafted attractions. Beyond that, it offers little from the original trilogy. Feels disjointed from the Star Wars universe with ill conceived story themes. Mostly a gigantic, offensively money grabbing gift shop. As I passionate fan I expected a lot more for an already expensive admission ticket.

A very different Disneyland experience. Its very spacious and well designed. One truly feels like they have entered another planet. The continuous sound effects add to the realism. The cast speak in starwars lingo. The drinks and food have lingo accurate names. The flight simulator takes 6 crew, 2 pilots, 2 gunners and 2 engineers, and each person has something to do. Great experience. If you have back issues or have any fused vertebrae, beware of jarring movements just like most rides.Enjoy

If you have a large party definitely make reservations, but if its just you, or toy and a friend you can usually get seating at the bar.

Disneyland unveiled its new “Star Wars Land,” Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on May 31. The park expansion is the biggest in Disney history, opening first in Anaheim, then in Orlando, Florida on Aug. 29. First announced in 2015, Galaxy’s Edge aims to transport guests directly into the Star Wars universe, not just with the merchandise and rides, but also interactive experiences like lightsaber building and roleplay-like elements.

TIPS if you have a reservation:1. one hour before go to star wars bay launch and pick up your wristband (if you go two hours before it is crowded)2. Head to critter county area (main star wars entry) 30 minutes after your admission time to avoid the cow herds3. See everything else BEFORE you go on the ride4. Smugglers Run :The later you go of your allowed time the less time you have to wait5. Pay and order your food using the Disney Mobile app way in advance.... This will help you avoid waiting in those long lines... Do this sooner than the mobile app orders were currently in 5-6 hours out FYI6. If you made it this far .. 4 hours was plenty of time to make it thru7. If you dont like waiting theres tons of other things to do they all sorts of cool shows and ruins etc

Star Wars: Galaxys Edge at Disneyland is like no other amusement park or theme park Ive ever been to; very likely like no other park in the world (except its inevitable twin in Florida). It is the most immersive, fully realized rendering of the Sci-Fi icon that I could possibly imagine. Its actually more than I could ever have imagined.Every building, every lamppost, every shop, every droid and nook and cranny oozes an alternate reality steampunk aesthetic that makes even the most cynical visitor feel like he or she has stepped through a wrinkle in time and space to a remote outpost a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. And thats all before you open the Star Wars Datapad in the Play Disney app you can download for free to iPhone or Android smartphone. The Star Wars Datapad allows you to become a virtual inhabitant of Batuu, a remote outpost at the edge of the galaxy, where the First Order and the nascent Resistance are battling each other for control. The app lets you play the role of part of the First Order or the Resistance, or strike out on your own as a Scoundrel. You can hack control panels, capture communications, locate supplies, and accept jobs from the local virtual inhabitants.IT IS A GAME CHANGER!I was there yesterday and I already want to go back tomorrow, even if I go by myself.

Let me start this with: Im not a Star Wars fan. Im a Disney fan, particular a Disney parks fan, so I still wanted to check it out since I was there. The theming of this land made me feel like a little kid again, like a little kid obsessed with Star Wars- despite seeing maybe 15 minutes of one of the films. You truly walk into a different world- this is Disneys best immersion yet. Everything from the costumes to the name tags to the water bottles- its perfect. Cast Members say Heres your cargo slip about your receipt, and say Thatll cost 5.75 credits, please instead of dollars. Everyone tells you to journey safely. Stormtroopers and characters roam, treating you as if you have always been a part of their world.None of the food appealed to me, but I did try the Blue Milk, which was expensive and overhyped but unlike anything Id tried before, which made the land even more out of this world. The Millenium Falcon is absolutely breathtaking, and the ride is really enjoyable. Not my favorite but a technologically stunning ride.Go to this land if you have the chance, no matter your stance on the films. Even for an hour, I felt like a part of the resistance.

This was amazing, I dont care what anyone says. I honestly enjoyed walking through the line almost as much as the ride itself. If you are any kind of Star Wars fan, youll find yourself enthralled! The ride itself is super fun, and you get assigned one of three roles. I would try to ask to be a pilot, as the pilots have the most control over the ride, as they pilot the ride (obviously). Also, if you can try to go either early in the morning or late at night, as then tends to be when the ride is the least busy.

We were invited by a group to go on Sunday evening of 6/16, allowed to enter the park at 8 PM. It was approximately three entrance points to get into the park, and there was no line. It was a free for all. Only 3000 people were allowed into the park. When we finally got in, our main concern was to get into line to place our names on the waiting list for Ogas Cantina. So.. the line for Ogas waiting list was excruciating. Once we put our name on the waiting list, they said it was to be a two hour wait... but hold on. Once they text you to arrive at Ogas, then you had to get into another long line. We could not get into Ogas.. as I had to work the next day. And we actually got the text at 2 hours and 30 minutes.. and by that time, we were already exhausted and leaving the park. That was a real bummer for us. I cant imagine the Galaxys Edge park holding 10,000 - 40,000 people! Outside of that, the park was nice. Blue milk was good...

Sadly underwhelmed. My wife and I decided to book a semi last minute trip to Huntington Beach to visit friends and planned to visit Disneyland for one day to check out the Galaxys Edge. Our kids were at home with the grandparents, so we thought to take full advantage of the adult activities! We were there with the kids a year and a half ago and have been anticipating the opening of the Star Wars addition since then. The positives first... The attention to detail is fantastic, everything looks naturally weathered and the props/space ships look like they are able to take off and fly. The Droid production store and the light saber stores are really cool if you want to make the investment. Definitely try out the Milk Stand, it is very tasty (I preferred the green while my wife liked the blue). Now the negatives. Dont plan to be there long as you can see everything in about an hour - unless you are waiting in the Smugglers Run line. The ride is pretty fun but distractingly interactive. If you are lucky to be the pilot you get the full effect. Gunners and engineers are in the back and you cant see around the person in front of you. Its very similar in sensation to being on the Star Tours ride, but wont give you motion sickness as its not 3D (thankfully).Ogas Cantina was ok, make sure you are standing at the bar or standing tables. Otherwise you will be seated in a booth and cant see past all the people who are standing. There should be screens playing the movies or something as there is literally nothing to watch or look at other than the animated DJ in one corner who is entertaining. If you came there to shop then this place is for you! There are so many stores there selling everything you can imagine related to Star Wars!It could use more of the characters walking around as well. We were there during the day and back at night, about 4 hours total and only saw Kylo, two storm troopers and Chebacca that whole time. Also it would be neat if the had the theme song playing in the main entrance tunnel as you enter the park to get that full effect. All in all there isnt much to actually do there other than spend lots of money.

Very immersive and should definitely go if you have the chance, especially if youre a star wars fan. Stormtroopers and rebel fighters walking around was a nice touch as well. At the moment theres only one ride, but theres another coming later in the year. You can build your own lightsaber or buy a replica from the movies, along with kyber crystals and Jedi robes. The only downsids is that it feels small, and you need to make reservations if you want to build a lightsaber, build a Droid, or visit a cantina. To get a reservation you need to just get there as early as possible and place your name on a list. Additionally, since theres only one ride, other than that ride theres nothing to do except spend money. It was still a fun time and recommended to anyone who can make the trip

The hype came. People came. The hype fizzled out. On its own Galaxy’s Edge has magnificent Disney Magical landscape and and Alien technology to get you through a wondrous visit to the outpost somewhere in a galaxy far far away. Smugglers Run” is a blast! The ride is interactive where you and 5 people enter a flight simulator ride and actually “operate” the functions (2 pilots, a couple gunners and engineer) The pilots “control” the movement of the ride. One person controls up and down movement while the other controls side to side movement. Gunners shoot the enemy and the engineer...well, I’m still not sure what they actually do but for reviews sake, they also have a task. It’s a very ingenious ride! As for the rest of the land, you will find enemy storm troopers on the hunt for Chewbacca, photo ops with lots of your beloved Star Wars characters and unusual flavors and food choices disguised as human food.....or is is human food disguised as alien food....GET A RESERVATION FOR THE CANTINA!!! Pretty awesome experience in there but you need a reservation to even get inside!I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip there and had a second opportunity to really investigate the city with a closer eye. Lots of markets and usual items not for sal anywhere else in Disneyland. All in all, many people say it’s a hype but I really think that it’s a very awesome land with lots of potential. Galaxys Edge is the Star Wars themes space within Disneyland Park. It was not open on my trip to Disneyland this time last year.My family and I visited Galaxys Edge yesterday and I was impressed with the many features of the space. First off, there are life size recreations of many of the most popular space ships, including a massive Mallenium Falcon, X Wing, Imperial Fighter. The Imperial ship is located in an area where you can also find Imperial merchandise, including full adult size Storm Trooper gear costing thousands of dollars. But there is also a lot of lower cost, high quality items like Light Sabers, droids and clothing.I paid for the experience of buidlng my own Light Saber. For one sword + experience it costs about $215 with tax. The experience is rich and the Light Saber is solid quality. We bought the kids all plastic light sabers from the shop for about $35 a piece which is more appropriate for little kids who value the experience more than having a heavy metal saber. The views from various parts of the space are amazing. The proportions are done well to make it feel just like you are within a Star Wars film. The blast doors in and out of the ships basically look like they could be used in a film. And then real size Imperial ship has actual Storm Troopers walking around searching.I will give this location 5 stars even though Disneyland has not earned a 5 Star overall rating for this trip.

A very underwhelming experience. The Smugglers Run ride is cool as you get to sit in the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon. The interactivity of the ride actually distracts from the experience as you end up being too focused on what lever to pull or button to push. Beyond that there is not much else to do in the area. There are a few shops but they are small and have little to offer. There was one store which had some cool Jedi artifacts and you could build a custom lightsaber for $200. But there really is not a lot to do beyond shop or ride the Falcon. This is why the crowds are so small, there is nothing to keep people there once they have ridden the Falcon. The 75 minute plus wait times to re-ride the Falcon arent worth it. The scenery is impressive in its scale and detail but does all tend to look the same. While not possible, they really need Star Tours and Hyperspace Mountain in the same area to make it more of a destination. Hopefully they will add more attractions otherwise this will continue to underwhelming.

We were able to get reservations to catch a glimpse of the new billion dollar Star Wars Land at Disneyland. As a non Star Wars fan, I did enjoy walking through this area filled with authentic props, eateries and plenty of souvenir shops where you can customize light sabers and droids. You can even purchase memorabilia at very high prices. There isnt much going on at the moment since the other side of this themed area has not been unveiled. I cant imagine the large crowds and long lines coming on June 24 when reservation blocks are not required.Currently, there is only one simulated ride that resembles Star Tours. You will be in line for 45 minutes to get on the Millennium Falcon ride. I thought the ride was fun but expected a bit more. First you board the ship then then you will be grouped into teams. You will be randomly handed your ship assignments. Each ship will have 2 pilots, 2 gunners, and 2 engineers. Everyone plays an important role. The pilots have the most control as they stir the ship in the right direction. While the gunners aim for the target by pressing the lighted buttons. The engineers are the back up and also press buttons as instructed. The ride is a bit distracting since you are doing as instructed while trying to enjoy the ride. The Millennium Falcon is impressive on the outside. Currently most people are just walking around the themed area for the photo ops. There is Ogas Cantina where you can have some blue milk. You can also purchase droid looking Coca-cola bottles. The area is not that bad in the preview stages. Im excited to see what the final product will look like. Come with patience because you will be waiting in long lines and maneuvering around all the die hard fans.May the force be with you...

And youre forbidden from walking around with your super expensive lightsaber or droid. Seriously. Now i am stuck with a faulty light saber that just reminds me of the horrible experience everytime i look at it ... Thanks disneyland .as much as I love the idea they need to fix multiple quality control issues before I suggest star wars fans or parents go throwing away $200 bucks on such a product with faulty switches and motion sensors . also just another fyi the bag it comes in becomes frayed by the end of the day so they upsale you a quality sheath for an additional $50 . they make you feel like you shouldnt be pulling out the saber after building it and walking out but definitely mess with it if you build one right away in case like my case they sell you a defective product . now youve been warned .

Before I share anything, a very much needed TIP to anyone who has not been here. If you go here, you have to pass through Critter Country. If you go the alternate route, you will be turned around and told to go through Critter Country. The decor, actors, everything was absolutely amazing. I cried when I saw the Millennium Falcon, the nerd in me lost it in such an emotional way. We wish there was a gift store strictly for everything Star Wars costume related but what do you do.We got some great help by a gentleman, Matt. Very down to earth, informative and so helpful in so many ways.

Star Wars: Galaxys Edge is a themed area inspired by the Star Wars franchise, located within Disneyland Park at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and Disneys Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The area encompasses 14 acres (5.7 ha) at each park. Galaxys Edge is set within the village of Black Spire Outpost, on the wild frontier planet of Batuu, and features attractions, shops, restaurants, and entertainment offerings. The lands were announced on August 15, 2015 and construction at both parks began on April 14, 2016. The Disneyland version opened on May 31, 2019, and Disneys Hollywood Studios version opened on August 29, 2019. Walt Disney Imagineering executive Scott Trowbridge supervised the development and construction of the new land at both parks. At Disneyland Park, Galaxys Edge is located in the northwest portion of the park, with three entries from Frontierland, Critter Country, and Fantasyland. As a result of the expansion, Disney closed Big Thunder Ranch and adjacent backstage areas, and purchased nearby properties to relocate the office and warehouse space that was on the land. The construction of Galaxys Edge required a reconfigured route for the Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America. A first look at how these changes would impact the park were revealed in January 2016, when concept art was released depicting the northern bank of the river after construction was completed. On January 11, 2016, several attractions in Frontierland and Critter Country were closed. Big Thunder Ranch closed permanently, including the multifunction event space, barbecue restaurant and petting zoo. Other attractions closed temporarily, including the Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America. Tom Sawyer Island reopened on June 16, 2017, and Fantasmic! reopened on July 17, 2017. The Disneyland Railroad, Mark Twain Riverboat, Sailing Ship Columbia, and Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes reopened on July 29. The land opened on May 31, 2019.

Totally love the immersive feeling I got from walking into the Galaxy’s Edge land. From the decor to the musical ambiance, Galaxy Edge has done a lot of things really well. I especially love the interactive side to the park that allows one to play the Disney interactive app and use to unlock cool things in the land it’s self. Not just that, but I also love the idea of being able to make my own droid and lightsaber. Even though these options are somewhat pricey, it’s worth it! At least to me. =]

Amazing! You literally feel like youre on the Star Wars set. The cast members are interactive and take their role seriously. Smugglers Run was intense with only 2 adults and 3 young children - you must fly the ship and therefore cant sit back to watch the ride. Note to parents with young children there are not a lot of kid friendly meal options, so make sure kids have eaten before going in. We tried the turkey jerky 1 sweet and 1 spicy order, they were fine. The blue and green milk are interesting drinks, we forgot to mix them as someone suggested. We didnt need to go back and try them again. The line to wait for the cantina is insanely long. If you want to build a Droid the shortest line was during the middle of our time, however we immediately got in line for the ride and waited an hour, so either way youre waiting an extended amount of time for something.

Best for Star Wars fanatics. Impressive and obviously expensive-to-build new land at Disneyland but does not live up to the hype nor entice one to return again and again.

A brand-new addition to the great park! So popular that it has led to overcrowding in Disneyland. Definitely worth seeing.

Yes it is finally open and totally worth it.As many suggest you try to avoid the high wait time by either going right after rope drop or going during the week especially if riding aboard the Millennium Falcon on Smugglers Run ride is your jam.Disney as Disney does, completely out did itself yet again! It really showcases that they are truly the masters of theming. I think they definitely did justice to the Star wars brand and their iconic shops and bars are represented well in a truly intergalactic way.You can make your own droid, you can have your blue milk at the cantina, and you can go full-blown Jedi buying the life size robes with lightsabers and all.Get all the Star Wars merch your little heart desires but most importantly Have Fun!
