Anacortess most wonderful areas...you can ride your horse, mountain bike, motorcycle (in some areas) and bring the kids/dogs...the beauty is all around. There is old growth trees, lakes and other amazing sights. You will definitely want to either take a photos of the map on the kiosk when you enter or purchase trail maps at the local bookstore because the trails or endless and even locals get lost if not careful. If you really love the forest lands and want to give back for your experience there, make a donation to the Anacortes Community Forest Lands!

Wonderful, smarvelous piece of preserved natural forest with a well-marked series of trails. Ive visited four times over the last week and taken a different route every time. Thank yOu to those who set this land aside and made and maintain the trails. Note - Google Maps directions to the location near the Predators of the Heart animal sanctuary do not provide the best access. Best approach is to visit the City of Anacortes website and download the pdf maps to your mobile device and pick an access point from those. Having the maps to refer to along your hike is handy too since there are so many trails to explore.

A beautiful park! There was a wide path that went through the picturesque forest, plus several smaller trails that branched off from the wide trail. I didnt get to spend much time here, so I will need to come back another day, but I really enjoyed the time I did have here. Beautiful. No motorcycles permitted.

Can anyone let me know if this is still open? It is not state or national forest so I figured it would be.

Beautiful forest with lakes and wetlands. Had the opportunity to mountain bike on permitted trails and felt priviliged to experience this gem. What a wonderful asset for the Annacortes community.

Great trails to hike/bike on, cool lakes, hills, and a generally peaceful environment. Beware of trail 118 though, there were very violent black hornets there back in 2015 or 16.

My family and I love the trails around Cranberry Lake. There are many paths to choose from which is nice but also makes it easy to get lost so watch your trail markers carefully. The lake is easy to get to although Alltrails directions to reach the lake are all wrong. From 12th (or Hwy 20) turn onto Hartford Ave, then left onto W 3rd St, right onto Georgia Ave then a right onto Cranberry Lake Rd (youll see ACFL sign) which takes you straight to a large parking lot with access to the lake.

One of the many pleasures of living in Anacortes is being able to go for easy hikes on forest trails without having to leave town in a car to find a trailhead.
