As the 2020-21 season opens, the lodge interior is closed except for access to bathrooms and rental shop, and they are serving a limited menu and cans of beer outdoors on the deck. I was very happy to discover that they ARE serving their DELICIOUS chocolate chip cookies!

Possibly my new favorite. My only con would be that a few of the cat tracks aren’t very conducive to snowboarders. However, maybe proper wax for the given temps would help a lot. Either way, this place is still awesome.

Although my kids all learned to ski here and we used to ski Disco every weekend, I hadn’t been here in a few years. There are a few new improvements including a warming hut at the parking area for the cross country trails, and you can now access the hill from the Philipsburg side. All in all, it remains largely the same, which is a good thing. Family friendly, affordable, terrain for every level of skier, great food, and the cookies......

Inexpensive Price for an all area pass especially the senior pass $38 nice surprise. Several groomed black diamond runs. The double blacks were bumped out so I didn’t try them. Need a powder day for me. Only minus is the slow chairs. The cafe has great food and service. We were there mid week so no crowd.

This is a great family resort. Its reasonably priced and offers terrain for all levels of skiing and snowboarding. They have a bunny hill and conveyor belt for the beginner. Visit during the week for great snow and no lines.

I have skied across the globe and Discovery is one of the great gems in the ski world! The Pitcher Family does an outstanding job providing a great experience in every way. They offer an easy and friendly learning environment for new skiers as well as some great steeps for experts. Discovery grooms most runs every single day to ensure excellent conditions and can do more with less snow than anyone. The food is fantastic and inexpensive with homemade rolls, soups, cookies and specials you wont find elsewhere. Weekdays are like a private club with no line even on powder days. When I die and go to heaven, I expect it to include a seasons pass at Discovery.

While the hill is good when they have snow, their customer service sucks. After buying 2 season passes a year for over 10 years, they told me no when I requested a credit for my sons pass due to shoulder surgery. They said absolutely no refunds after Dec 31 , even though his doctors recomendation & note was dated Jan 15. I guess they dont believe in supporting the people that support them.

This was a really fun resort. The backside has very steep runs and the lifts connect together very well. For less that $60 a ticket it is a great deal as the resort has a lot of lifts and short lift lines. It was a great resort and I cannot recommended it enough.

Great ski area, levels for all ages and abilities. Only complaint is the service in the cafeteria, lines can stretch the length of the building. Good food but they need to work with a student in industrial engineering from MSU to improve efficiency. It would help them and the customer. Weve started bringing our own food, and will continue to enjoy the skiing.

Some staff are generally rude and while some are awesome, some like to pick on snowboarders for no apparent reason. Like making them do stupid stuff to their bindings or telling them to take off ski packs, when skiers are not told to remove them. It would be different if they were consistent, but watched this happen all day when we were there. These two would nitpick snowboarders but skiers are free to do what they like. I wasnt going to review but Google asked me to and it irritated me weeks later that two of the lift operators were like this. The food on the other hand is pretty good and decently prices. The other staff were great and friendly around the lodge. They dont have Wi-Fi but can pick up cell service in spots. The mountain and area is pretty good and well maintained. We would come back, if the few staff hadnt been such jerks to only snowboarders.

This is the best last pure ski hill in Montana! Perfectly nestled between Philipsburg and Anaconda, Discovery has great runs, beautiful views and excellent maintained lifts. Excellent local ski resort. The terrain is nicely divided between front and backside for easier and harder terrains, respectfully. While Discovery does not have the longest slopes to roam, the lift lines are short and I was able to ski hard all day without boredom. The chili in the bases dining hall is pretty good too! I should say its horrible to keep this place to ourselves, but it really is an awesome ski hill with great variety for all levels. Bunny hill to multiple double blacks. The views are incredible (it is Montana, after all), and their cookies after a long day of skiing is cookie heaven. If you dont want to ski, stick around for the food. Yum! Really, the only downside is they REALLY need a larger area for those brown bagging it. They use the same area for donning and doffing equipment. It gets VERY crowded.

I had purchased 2 lift tickets online and the transaction was held twice causing me to overdraft. I work in the hospitality industry so I understand the debit cards can be this way. I understand that the authorization would be released and I didnt want to complain about it because again, I too work in this industry and its not fair to the person who gets yelled at for this. Anyways, I went today and got my passes and went up the easy chair. Right when getting off the chair I fell and completely ripped my pants, so badly that I was not able to continue the day. They could not offer a refund, not even allow me to use my tickets for another day. The way this was handled was awful. No empathy givin-just this lady saying that she cant do anything for me. Even offing a discount on pants in the shop wouldve been a great service recovery tactic. Everything up here was great but I am upset that I spent $100, and having them authorize $200 causing my bank to go negative with overdraft fees, all for ONE ride up the chair lift and a long walk down. I probably will never go back based on the lack of service and customer care.

Posting specifically for the Kinder Ski (ages 4-6). Weve used their lessons for several seasons, and they do a great job. The staff/ instructors are all very friendly, patient, and professional. They take the time to ensure each child is assigned to the appropriate skill level and adjust if necessary. Our daughter continues to learn new skills and has a great time each time she is there. Unfortunately shell be too old for Kinder Ski next season, but weve had a positive experience with their services.

Dont do kinderski unless you want your child to stand around for two hours. No one bothered to call the next day to discuss this concern as they said they would. Discussed with the owner and he made me feel bad for calling. Terrible experience. Do not recommend unless you want instructors to make your kid cry then ignore them. Incredible waste of money with the worst customer service and complete disregard for the well being of children Ive ever experienced.

This was a really great place to bring beginner skiiers and the KinderSki was especially great for the little ones. We all had a great time and there was something for everyone to do and enjoy. I would have liked to see more snowshoeing opportunities for those of our party who didnt ski, but I also know that skiing is the main part of the resort. The prices also seemed a bit high compared to some other skiing weve done in the past but the views are just breathtaking and I would highly recommend this place to anyone into skiing with a little extra cash.
