More exciting than Iowa State Football !! We came here for a wedding reception. Bonus, no entrance fee. We had a nice time, the bride looked hot, you know what I mean. The place looks neat, but I didn’t see anything that makes we want to comeback and check the rest of it out. Especially if I have to pay to get in. Hook Em Horns !!!

Reiman Gardens is small to medium size garden located near to Iowa State University Football stadium. Very warm welcome staff. Admission is $9 for general (adult), but it is definitely worth if you visit there right time. Reason I mention right time is; Once the summer ended, most plants are kind of dead and specially roses are all dead. So, best time to visit there is during summer. And they have a dedicated area for butterflies, which is awesome. Another tip, butterflies are fully active when there is full sun light. It might take one hour or more to cover the whole garden. Other side of the garden, you can see the world largest gnome. Apart from the plants, they have nicely landscaped the area with metallic artwork, they are absolutely beautiful when there is enough wind to move those metal pieces.Ideal for short trip, relaxation and family time.

A must visit place for anyone that is remotely close to Ames. The butterfly wing alone is well worth the admissions fee. If you are so lucky as to possess a current ISU student ID card, your admissions fee is free. I love taking photos at Reiman Gardens year-round. Doesnt matter the season, there is always something beautiful worth taking pictures of. Aside from the butterfly wing, there is also Elwood, the worlds largest concrete gnome, and a miniature campanile that plays songs.

Reiman Gardens is an incredible venue with staff that is second to none. The staff members are easy to work with and no matter the occasion, they have the indoor and/or outdoor space to accommodate. Beautiful! The gardens were great, the weather was awesome and the butterfly exhibit was really neat! They have a lot of places to sit (in the shade) and an interactive childrens garden area. There are amazing sculptures made from ocean garbage. The artist has a talent for colors. The price was reasonable for our family of 5, and there were plenty of bathrooms and water fountains.

Review №57

I have loved coming to this place for a while from the times they did the big sculptures hunt and before but my favorite part is the butterfly area. The butterfly area is quite warm for the butterflies enjoyment in their environment so don’t wear dark sweatpants, sweaters, or any other heavy clothing. The butterflies are completely majestically beautiful inside their area. Sometimes the butterflies get hurt, I once helped a Hurt butterfly with an employee because the butterfly had a hurt or cut off wing I can’t fully remember but the butterfly wouldn’t go on the food like it was suppose to. That butterfly kept jumping onto my stomach and we’d try to put it on the food but it kept jumping onto me, after a while we got it onto the food container. Every now and again a butterfly would land on your back, finger or head. It’s more likely to happen if you wear bright colors and you are quite quiet and comfortable. Thank you Reiman Gardens for my great memories!!!

I love Reiman and all of the activities and events they offer! My only gripe is that when renting venues you are not allowed to tape up signs per their contract. Totally understandable! Tape can damage, leave residue, etc. I did not tape anything up for fear of a charge as we are already low on funds. But when we pay to rent the Conservatory (the same night as an event held in the next room) I would hope that there would be a sign, standing board sign, a reminder sent to others also holding events or something they could put out for us to stop people from traipsing in...We had the worlds shortest wedding ceremony and we werent even done taking pictures before party goers were walking in and wandering around! My Mom had to stand at the door like a bodyguard to keep people out during the ceremony. I paid $150 for maybe 10-15 minutes of peace......so disappointed! It is my opinion that the rules in the contract should change or Reiman should invest in a large standing sign to place by events. At least pass along to parties (like Fuel Fest) to tell their guests to please give us privacy!! I would have really appreciated that as I feel like my night was trampled on. :/ There are strangers in the background of our pictures. Otherwise the staff and everyone we dealt with were very nice.I didnt appreciate being accused of trying to skip out on paying the venue fee, however, as we had reached out to be married at Fuel Fest by a Fuel member- whom we befriended at a Chamber event- and were told it was not possible. That it would give others ideas on how to skip paying the fee. I feel that email could have been worded much better as it almost made me change my mind completely about being married here. I stated above that we paid the venue fee but it made no difference in the privacy of our event so Im questioning why we even bothered. Ill come to Spirits in the Garden next year but will probably not be back for much else.

A Home Depot customer service person in Hadley, MA recommended we see these gardens, so we did and it was worth the drive. The gardens are beautiful and we enjoyed the trash sculptures. It was easy to spend a day here, relaxing, and strolling around the grounds. And sitting in the butterfly area and just enjoying the butterflies was a pleasure. It is worth the time to go out of your way to visit these gardens.
