Needed a strong caffeine recharge on the long haul across country on I-40, gas station drip wasnt gonna cut it. Lucked upon this spot that is open late, really sent me back to old school 90s times, the artwork & decor is fantastic!

I’ve loved the 806 for more than half of my life. Started going to poetry readings as a class assignment in high school, loved the atmosphere, coffee and all of the local artist. It’s a great spot and I hope they continue to thrive.

Best coffee and great food

We were driving through Amarillo looking to find a vegan friendly restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised with the food. However, we did have to wait awhile for our food because the cashier was also preparing the orders. Although there was two other employees just standing around. Also, we couldn’t find a menu online anywhere. The food and atmosphere is good—I would recommend to anyone looking for healthier food on the road.

Service was great. Asked server for a recommendation and his suggestion was just what the doctor ordered.

I really liked this place. It had a nice little atmosphere on rte 66 that was cozy but lively. My friend said it was the liberal coffee shop which makes me laugh because Im from Michigan where I wouldnt be able to tell the difference. A coffee shop is a coffee shop is a coffee shop unless its like in a church or something which might be kind of weird, but something I saw once in like Iowa.Is that what Texas is like with its coffee? With battle lines drawn? I have no idea. All I know is that the coffee is good, and they have vegetarian fare which is hard to find.Shouldnt that be what its about?Anyway, I loved it, but Im a hippy dippy peacenik who has lived all over from Grand canyon to death valley to Michigan.Its hard in this world to find good coffee outside of Seattle, and when you find it, you should latch on.The 806 has good coffee and service.

This little place is amazing. We just got hot teas to go. Full leaf tea with steamed milk was crazy delicious. Art was interesting. We checked out all of the rooms while we waited for our tea to steep. Fun place. If only the art could talk and tell us. We will come back on our next visit to Amarillo. Love that vibe!

The coffee here is great and probably the only place in Amarillo that has hemp milk. I get they are primarily a coffee shop so Im trying not to hold this against them too much but being an all veggie place I expected there to be more vegan options. When I asked the girl there if they had any vegan pastries she directed me to something that was gluten free. (They dont have any vegan pastries at least they didnt when I went) more vegan options please!

The atmosphere hits you right when you walk in but dont stop there! The coffee is freaking awesome! And the food is bomb! And for the love of god DONT SKIP THE WHIPPED CREAM! They make their own whipped cream so its super fresh and uh its flippin caffeinated!!!! 100/10

This place is actually pretty great. Was really laid back, loved the atmosphere. Honestly, I was surprised to find hipsters even existed in Amarillo. Apparently they do though, and this must be their Mecca. In all seriousness though, the coffee here was great, the service was great, and if I ever happen to pass through Amarillo again I will definitely drop by a second time.

A really cool place for coffee. The lady at the counter was super polite and funny. The decor is kinda funky art which may not suit everyone’s taste. I liked it a lot. The sitting style is very chill and the coffee was really good.

The 806 was great, tonight. They had an event to raise money to help migrant families who have been separated in ICE facilities along the border be reunited, and there were some awesome local bands that played and it was a lot of fun. The 806 is a great place to hangnout and catch up on the local culture and meet interesting people.

I moved from Amarillo to Portland a year and a half ago and returned over the holidays. The 806 in particular could easily be a very successful coffee house/pub here in Portland......I love you guys!

I ️ 806. I remember when Jason first opened this place. It’s kept the same lively indie vibe and has pleasantly expanded the menu and art vendors. The coffee is on point, as always, and just about everything is organic and/or fair trade.

The 806 is a wonderful place that has done wonders for the art scene in Amarillo. The coffee and teas are all wonderful. Food items are hot and fresh. If youre looking for a wonderfully quirky and artsy place to get coffee and chill, this is the place. They also run one of the longest open mics in Amarillo and it draws in such a supportive and inspiring community of creators. This place is my favorite!

Whoa, not expecting it to be so... racy. This may appeal to some but Im not really all over pics of people with their junk out being the first thing I notice when I enter a place. The coffee was alright, nothing to write home about. I will say there is a corner area that serves as a good study place, away from the questionable art. It is quiet, and the drinks have... interesting names. Many of those are also on the obscene side. Not sure I reccomend it.

In spite of the fact that I am a registered Meat and Potatotarian, this all vegetarian cafe serves an outstandingly delicious bowl of chili - understand this is coming from a man who has entered only one chili cookoff and took home two prizes - won my division (bean free) as well as the grand prize over all...so...I know a thing or two about chili and the 806 does too...I highly recommend it!

I always appreciate the vibe at 806. My kind of place out here on the high plains of Tejas. Coffees killer, salads super, and teas terrific. And then theres that peaceful ambiance that makes it the best place around to gather inspiration. My little escape from mundane. Cool staff, too.

Love this place. A rotating stock of delicious craft beers and wines that you cant find anywhere else, a killer dairy-free chai, plenty of tasty eats, and the best coffee in town (seriously, Ive tried them all, extensively). Go check out the local art on the walls, see a wandering folk guitarist from Lichtenstein play a set, or just hang out and drink any of the aforementioned beverages.

The 806 is a cultural institution and popular hangout of the youth of Amarillo. If you are involved with the local creative scene at all, or if you have alternative-style friends, then you likely are already familiar with this place. Theyve got superb teas and coffee, surprisingly tasty meals like their bagel pizza and house hummus, and theres plenty of room for you and a group of friends to sit down and talk about anything. Outside is a smoking area, and they also serve alcohol, like mimosas.Also, the owner, Jason, is hilarious and witty. Just expect to be trolled by the staff if you do something stupid.

Local artists exhibits. Live music events regularly scheduled. Reasonably priced drinks. Smoking area available, but smoke blows back into main area when door is opened. Limited parking available. Located on historic Route 66.

Its nice and laid back..But its more of a hangout place for ages 16-30. Not that its a bad place to go though. A nice hometown coffee shop with snacks and alcoholic beverages as well.

Everybody at 806 is lovely. I highly recomend their green teas and the chicken killers for a refreshing way to start your day. The painting by the counter makes me feel kinda funny... Like when I used to climb the rope in gym class....... Anyway, 5 stars.

Been in and out for the past 4 years and what can I say? Good customer service, great atmosphere, a cultural gem in the texas panhandle.

So “Courtney” magically forgot after I paid that they were out of hemp milk and said I would recieve a refund, all places I’ve been too in order to receive a refund they need your card in order to put the money back on there, so here it is a week later and I still never received my refund! I guess she is mad I left a bad review from our last interaction, and asked about if I left a review,and I said no because I wasn’t there to discuss google reviews I only wanted my coffee and if she felt so bad about the mistake she would’ve fixed it that day instead of waiting until I posted a review then offering it, just basic business etiquette. But she can keep the $4 because I guess she needed it more than me, however I don’t know if she has something against blacks or what but I get vibes from people and she has a very dark soul and I’m praying for her God bless you sweetie

This shop is amazing. They bring in some incredible bands and offer great coffee, a fantastic beer selection and a menu with some truly incredible food. The pizza bagels are freaking amazing. This is the coolest place to be on 6th and the only place to be for great indie music and caffeine. Cant praise them highly enough

My favorite espressos, are the Pot head and the ju ju. The pot head is made with hemp milk. It is traditionally served cold, I usually dont like cold coffee, but its delicious. The ju ju is an espresso that is spicy and chocolatey. I ordered it hot and it is probably the best coffee I have ever tasted! The atmosphere is eclectic and cozy. The nights I have been there, they have had live music.

Probably my favorite place in Amarillo. Every time I come home I spend every single night here. Great selection of beer and even better coffee. The staff is amazing.

It was an awesome place to eat breakfast. Tried some fun drinks and taste food. We had a gaggle of little kids/babies and everyone seemed mostly OK when they were crazy. There were some board games to play and awesome art.

Coffee is good and prices are on par, tho everytime I go in there I feel a little unwelcomed. Not sure whats up with that. Otherwise, its a cute artsy cafe. Unfortunately, tho you can smell thick cigg smoke roll in from the outdoor areas.
