My son has developed a huge interest in cars but my husband and I dont know much about them. We took the kids to learn at this Museum and we all had a great time. They had a great collection of cars, bikes, and motorcycles as well as lots of different display. The staff was incredibly friendly and we cant wait to return to see the train display closer to Christmas. Highly recommend.

Nice auto museum. I was informed that the top level is transitory and presentation changes. Presently they have Hudson on display. I also enjoyed the the limited bicycle presentations. I hope that the bicycle stuff will improve with time. Some interesting model Ts are also presented.

We went soon after we entered the green phase. Temperature checks were conducted prior to entry and all staff were wearing masks. The volunteers were very courteous and offered to answer any questions we may have. The Hubcap cafe was closed due to the virus, bit we still had an enjoyable time. Currently on display is a portion of the Hudson collection from Dr Robert Blake. Groupon frequently runs specials, so it is worth it to take a look if you would like to save some money.

America on Wheels is truly a wonderful little car museum and the City of Allentown is fortunate to have it.There are two stories to this fairly new and modern building filled with cars and car memorabilia. The exhibition on the second floor changes periodically with a different car collection which I believe are cars owned by private owners on loan to the museum.I plan on returning to see the new collection twice a year. Can’t wait for my next visit.Paid another visit last Thursday and had a wonderful time exploring this museum again. The upstairs has new cars on exhibit every quarter so it is well worth a visit at least a few times per year.Still very worthwhile and a credit to the community!

I attended my daughters second grade class field trip to the America On Wheels museum in Allentown, PA this morning. Our tour guide, Mike, was patient and tried very hard to answer all of the questions from a group of curious 7-8 year olds. There are antiques of all types;: Bicycles, motorcycle, toys, race cars, Mack trucks, etc.Anyone interested in the history of wheeled transportation will enjoy this place!

America on wheels is a fun little museum in Allentown. There are lots of cool cars and funny captions. You can learn about trucks, motorcycles, car restoration, and more. At 10 dollars its pretty reasonably priced, but dont expect to spend hours in here. We had an especially fun time talking to the volunteers who really love the museum.

Great museum. It has a lot of beautiful trucks, cars, bikes and motorcycles. There is so much information about these vehicles and how they restore or preserve. Depending on your pace, you can see the entire museum in an hour or two. This is a stop for all ages to enjoy. There are interactive features for children.

This is a great museum for transportation buffs of all ages and levels. They have rotating exhibits on the second floor. This time was Fabulous Fins of the 50s and 60s: The Jet Age of Automobile Design. The employees were very helpful and patient, taking their time to explain different pieces to us and our kids. There is usually a Groupon for America on Wheels but even without it, admission prices are very reasonable.

A must see when visiting the area. Moderate fees with no time restraints and knowledgeable staff make this a real trip down memory lane. The vehicles get changed every now and then due to a lot being on loan from various sources. Christmas time features a rather nice train display on the second floor. Elevator is available as well as steps to it.

Recently went here for a child’s birthday party. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the party room was clean. They provided pizza as a separate charge and had a working juke box with 50’s theme. The displays are rotated but not in the Mack truck room. I loved the interactive display for kids in the store.

There was a good amount of vehicles to look at and history on cars, trucks, motorcycles, race cars, etc to read about. It was not as big as I thought. My two young kids enjoyed their time. My son is into cars, so he enjoyed pointing out the models and engines. You can expect on average 30 mins to an hour there, if with kids; probably longer without.

We loved this museum. Super unique, and the volunteer at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. What a cool little find thats not far from home! We were disappointed at the actions of one employee; I dont know her name, but she was shorter with glasses and short hair and quite loud. The front room was being worked on, and there werent barriers up; we went into this section to look around, not knowing we shouldnt be there, and this lady went crazy saying we couldnt be in there. Then, after enjoying the whole museum, we were interested in buying a print that we saw upstairs was advertised for sale. It said #3 on it and to mention this number in the gift shop to buy prints. We told the gentleman at the desk, and hee called in someone who could get into the room with prints, which happened to be this same lady. Acting like we were being a total inconvenience, she goes, What is the #3? I dont know #3, and I need to hurry up because I have something else I need to do. We waited patiently for about 5 minutes, and she said they were out. It was really a shame she was so rude because we loved the museum. Dont let this review stop you from going. It was a great place full of motorcycles, race cars, trucks and some fun interactive things for kids.

What can I say this is the best car museum around here lol Correct me if Im wrong but this is the only one around here.We just went there on August 12, 2019 the 1st time since it had opened in 08.Reason being is that my previous wife was an not into cars so her eyes didnt light up when she saw the classic cars. The history of the area thats in the museum as well is America on wheels. Now I have a girlfriend that appreciates classic cars and loves to look at them and she even knows some the cars that have been out over the years and has recognized the classic cars that are there. My advice if you plan to go alone thats fine but its always really good to go there with someone who enjoys American on wheels! The easy part for her was and for myself is that she knows what a classic car is not to mention the museum has a really good explanation of the cars there on the front of the cars that are displayed that tells what the cars are that also helps me.As for me as soon as I walked in I saw the old Park and Shop signs from when the parking decks had those displayed years ago at the parking decks. I explained to her what thet were. She is from Jersey. I was a tour guide for her to show her what were the local historical items in the museum And it also coincided with things I had already shown her and she got to see what they look like when they were newer.. Such as the 7th street monument I have shown her that in a tour of Allentown so now she got to see what it looked like when it was surrounded by the older buildings not the new buildings that are that they are now like the PPL center. The history of the Pennsylvania turnpike was interesting for both of us Ive always been intrested in the turnpike cars my dad used to work there back in the 60s When the service Plazas were run by Howard Johnsons. And I told her at that time there are even more like there used to be one down by Quakertown which in the last 20 years has been removed. She travels the turnpike North East extension 5 days a week. I showed her on one of the trips that a went down with her where it was at.The best part that I found there since my last visit was the display that included the Supreme Auto Body sign That everyone knows so well that was hanging on outside of the building. I had taken my 1970 canery yellow Dodge Dart there for body repair in the 1980s a few time years ago. They always did outstanding work and well everyone knew that anyways that took theirs to them. My dad had even taken his cars throughout the years to supreme as well. The museum was clean and well maintained no cobwebs or anything well Kept. The guides there were friendly and very helpful and I told them about what I experience with supreme auto body sign and the park and shop sign very pleased to see those.
